Eduardo thanks a lot ! Did you notice that you have 0 stickiness when using "Animated deforming" for the collider ? I mean, even if you put 10, it doesnt work. I have to use animated rigid. Then only you have the stickiness applied.
What video card did you use for the final simulation? You said that for mpm it is good to use 40 to 80 million particles. But on my 1080 ti, 11 gigabytes of video memory is not enough to make a simulation and 5 million particles. Maybe I am doing something wrong? I tried to load the source files, but the result in your project is even worse, of course I did not have enough memory
I wanted to like this tutorial, but a lot of is spent on unnecessary material in my opinion. I don't get why we are using motion plane nodes, when you could just use a MUCH simpler animation. MPM is already hard enough since it's so new, why are we trying to confuse people further by using parts of Houdini that may or may not be familiar with everyone. Just use a simple pre-built animation!
Great watch, very well explained! Houdini for life
Thank you Eduardo for this amazing introduction to MPM solver🔥🔥
