Nice way to recycle some of the used oil!
Congrats on the new chickens!
Farmers, ranchers have been using this technique for eons. Great use for used oil!
Looks like it is doing the job. Nice looking chickens Shanna. Fingers crossed that the piggy stays small for you and Sara. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
In the uk years ago it would be used for fence posts and fencing and all sorts of wooden things that needed preserving. It's called making use of what you have. Probably still used today but away from that way of life nowadays.
Looks like you were finally able to get part of the garden. Tobin my dad has used motor oil thing on his trailers for years
We did, until the freeze this week. 😜
My dad would do that when we were on the farm a long time ago.
I remember that video. I think you did some posts too. Great job. God bless love you all.
My dad used to put used motor oil on fence posts too.
Love the chickens
Hi there all so glad to come home to your video
I think you did a great job. Thanks for the update.
I’m planning on doing this to mine within the next week or two.
I will be doing this ASAP thanks for the update.
Great looking lettuce 😀
Thank you. I am going to do that to mine.
I used motor oil on the wood fence we had it worked great.
Great way to repurpose used motor oil. I don't think it is bad for the environment in that state. It is the burning of oil products that hurts the environment. Pretty chickens.

I guess since it came out of the earth to begin with it shouldn't hurt going back in! People are silly. Those are very pretty girls!
I'm bored so I am Bing watching videos. I love the content on your channel so you are the one I'm watching this time. Last time it was CogHill
It came out of the earth. I do it
I'm replacing the boards on my trailer in Arizona after 20 years. They were pretty rotted out. But I'm hesitant to use motor oil on the new boards b/c of how I use the trailer. I hear terrible things about Rustoleum's RockSolid products (class action lawsuit ongoing), and not great stuff about Thompson Water Seal products. I'm considering an oil based marine product instead.
Get her a pineapple and she can grow the top, they are cool.
I used to use used motor oil (heh heh), on my new boots to waterproof the leather and the stitching.
I would like to see you try cheap but NEW oil. A new 1-gallon jug of oil is $15 at O'Rei--- Plus $5 diesel = $20.
Will it penetrate deeper? Will it not come off on your jeans or still attract dirt?
Oil on old boards, ok. With my new boards tho, I'm going to use Th0msun's Water Seal.
My ex-husband use to do the same thing
Thank you SO much for this tutorial! We have recently bought a trailer and have been looking for a sealant. The cheapest one we found is $40. I only have a question, please. How long should I let it cure before I can load anything onto it? Thank you!
I am also trying to buy a lock for my trailer; do you have any recommendations? Thanks
Does it make the boards slick after drying? Thanks
Nope. We have never had that issue,
After the oil soaked in does it get slippery when it gets wet or does it feel like a normal deck?
Maybe a little more but not bad
Piggy just wanted some company. Or maybe she's just nosy.
She is nosey. Ha. She has all her chicken friends down there with her.
