  • This week we experience what vanlife in the majestic Cairngorms has to offer. Last week we travelled down the west side of the Cairngorm Massif, with the mountains providing an impregnable barrier to the western side we dropped out of the bottom of the national where you join us this week. We do a U-turn back towards the mountain range but now on the eastern side. We drive through the impressive, yet misty Glenshee, spend time walking around Braemar and Balmoral before heading into Ballater for a night on the town. You see our shy side as we explain why we did not film at beautiful Muir of Dinnet and begin what would turn out to be our most challenging hike yet. The mighty Lochnagar. We finish this weeks vlog as we finish our hike walking along the banks of Loch Muick.
    We try to give you a realistic an unfiltered look at what our life, relationship and travels are like as we explore some of the most beautiful spots the UK has to offer. If you enjoyed this weeks episode please give us a like and drop us a comment, we reply to all of them and they really help our channel grow.
    Next week we will be exploring the coast of Aberdeenshire and Moray. If you would like to see what we get up to next week and into the more distant mists of the future, subscribe (and click the bell icon next to the button to make sure you get a notification of new videos).
    If you just cant get enough of us (haha) feel free to head over to our Instagram where we do lots of stories and post most days:

    Discovered you guys by accident a few weeks ago, love it. Actually really look forward to each episode now. Have even binge watched on a few occasions. I’ve seen a lot of Ireland, but you have shown there is so much to see. Sublime👍

      Hello Melvin,
      This is so nice to hear. Glad we have a little back log of videos for you to binge now, haha. Ireland is incredible, we havent even nearly left yet and we are already planning our return.

    I really enjoyed ‘my’ trip up Loch na gar with you, such bleak beauty and wild winds. The autumnal colours are fabulous. I can just imagine my ancestors using that lichen and the plants around to dye cloth for clothes. Well done for getting to the top in reasonable time while keeping a weather eye out. My legs are aching just from watching the ascent up those unrelenting stone steps. Ouch! Makes me feel like I need a hot chocolate to warm up after that walk, which is quite ridiculous as it’s 27 degrees here, 8.30pm Andalusia Spain, and I have the windows open to let a cooling breeze in 😆

      Haha, Jackie i love seeing you pop up on our old videos. I guess its nice to think cold thoughts in the heat wave, although please resist the urge to drink a hot chocolate!

    If you go near Braemar again, overnight at the Linn of Quoich. It costs £3 for the night. We were the only van there and the walks were amazing, with waterfalls and great swimming spots.

    Great film guys. Tom your editing is excellent. You see so much more of Scotland with all the walking and exploring but I think I will stick to exploring on my motorbike as it’s the riding that I love.
    One thing I do do really like and think is very charming is Issys purposeful walking style. I love your loose arm swings. Anyone who knows you would know it was you walking towards them from a long way off. 👍🏻😘🙂.

    Another great vlog. Keep on keeping it real :-) Consider Scandinavia at some point too (preferably Summer time) but it's a great place for van living too.

    You’re video’s have kept my spirits up while my van is being repaired. I’ve been off the road since the end of September. The van will be finished next week and I’m thinking of taking my first ever Scotland trip in the new year. Where would you recommend for a first trip and how did you cope with the midge’s. I’ve watched other channels and they’ve all said they are a nightmare in Scotland. It doesn’t look like you two had much bother with them. Thanks

    • @LostInTransit
      @LostInTransit  2 года назад

      The midges were not an issue for us and wouldn't be in January either. It's only in summer really. January will be cold in Scotland and will be short days, so be prepared! I (Tom) love the Cairngorms so much, there is loads to see although you may need to work around a few of the roads being closed for snow. Skye is a must at some point but not sure how that would be in winter it was pretty wild when we did it back in October. If you make it up for Hogmanay head to the Clachlaig, I had a blast there a couple years back.

      Isabel works for a help line, providing information for colleagues via teams, I'm spending most of the time she is working doing the Instagram and editing the vlogs (I guess that's kinda classes as unpaid work, haha)
