Thank you for this lesson. I really like all your lessons. I am new to laser work and am using a diode laser. I will be making a custom card for my little brothers (70) birthday with an old pic of us as kids.
hey rich That's another educational video, for which we are very grateful. it's always wonderful to watch your video and learn how and what to do. greetings luc
Really nice and simple! Maybe I will make myself a card and give myself money for another laser LOL I never engraved cardstock just cut out intricate patterns so this will be something new for me to try :)
Just got my laser and made a card out of wood that is assembled but want to make cards going forward. This is awesome!!! My fear is learning the library tests for different materials like card stock. Also I can use this for stencils with my model trains!
Great video as always. The video length is never an issue with me when the content is top notch. I am going to add our return address on the envelope and when I fold it I will fold it towards the back so the address is on the front. Also something I do with paper and gluing is to put the folded/glued side on parchment paper and put a book on top. Do something else and in a minute or so it's good.
Like I said in the video, experiment with power and speed to get different colors. This one was done at a very low power and very high speed, so all it did was remove the die from the paper.
Unfortunately for me, my honeycomb is indifferent to magnets. I did make some clips from paper clips and they work well enough. I did not miss you placing magnets to hold the card stock down.
mY WIFE ANDi WANT TO GET A LASER CUTTER AND WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO CUT .125 AND .25PLYWOOD WOULD YOU TELL ME WHAT WATTAGE WILL IT TAKE TO DO THIS THANKS jEFF PETERS
Great video and well executed - I am not a business or anything like that I have the Sculpfun S9 5.5W laser (all standard). I just love to watch your video's / tutorial's - very easy to watch and understand - I will give this a go and send my wife a Christmas card this year, (there is a first for everything lol). Keep up the great work 👏👏👏
At 32 mins, you show us and say "cutting the perforation square" (rectangle). Lightbulb moment! So rather than build that rectangle with four separate lines, and node editing the rest of the envelope, weld the envelope front, back, and flaps first. Now create the green rectangle at the four inside corners, then increase green rectangle ht/wt dimensions.
Remember to experiment with speed and power! You can get from black to white and a few shades in between on paper!
Thanks!
Welcome! Thanks so much for the support @joeb2147
WOW! You did it again Rich. :)
Wow, thanks Bill!
What I love about watching your channel is the LB gems you drop along the way. "i then b" is gold.
Yeah, the videos are more about the process than the actual projects. I'm glad you get it!
Just what I been waiting to try! WOOHOO!

Thanks for watching!
Awesome, as always. Thanks for all you do Rich.
Much appreciated!
Nice job. I always pick up some new tips. One suggestion, fold side tabs in first and maybe round top of those tabs to match bottom fold up piece.🎉
Good tip, thanks!

Always great video! Have you seen the New Genmitsu L8 All-In-One Laser Machine?? Cant wait to see a review?
I've seen it but they haven't contacted me yet.
GREAT VIEDO.
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching!
My Library tab is missing from window, how do i get it.
I dont know if its ever been there.
My light burn was just downloaded Dec 2024.
Click on Window --> Library
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy it's not there though. I am still using trial, is that why?
Thanks for the video! My question is how did you get that color from the green card stock without it being blackened by the laser?
Like I said in the video, experiment with power and speed to get different colors. This one was done at a very low power and very high speed, so all it did was remove the die from the paper.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Thank you! I will give it a try.
Cover the area of honeycomb outside the card stock with more paper and the partial pressure created by your exhaust fan will hold the card stock down.
Magnets are much easier Sam.
If your honeycomb is attractive to magnets.
Yes, I addressed that in the video Sam.
Unfortunately for me, my honeycomb is indifferent to magnets. I did make some clips from paper clips and they work well enough.
I did not miss you placing magnets to hold the card stock down.
What part of Louisiana are you in?
Just south of New Orleans.
mY WIFE ANDi WANT TO GET A LASER CUTTER AND WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO CUT .125 AND .25PLYWOOD WOULD YOU TELL ME WHAT WATTAGE WILL IT TAKE TO DO THIS THANKS jEFF PETERS

WHICH LASER CUTTER WOULDYOU RECOMMENED THANKSJEFF PETERS
WOULD YOU HAVE A RECCOMMEND FOR A TABLE TOP LASER CUTTER IN THE 40 WATTRANGE IT UNDER$1500 PRICE
Thanks Rich. Now how much postage?😂😂😂
These days? $22!
Awesome video
I watched the entire video but I didn't see your special message on the bottom of the screen.
Check again... it's there a couple of times!
oooh could have recovered from the tear if you'd put glue on the outside of the flaps and glued the bottom on top of them
The flap was damaged too. But it didn't fit right anyway, so I had to do a new one.
Yeh my bad, I commented before the next bit :D
Turn the envelope "inside out", and make your folds the other way, and the tears will be on the inside with a perfect outside surface.
Fold the envelope in the other direction and it will hide the tears. I think, LOL
Kinda late for the comment, but it might help others.
Thanks for the comment!

I am in the process of making a junk journal using my laser cutting all the paper/card stock
Awesome! 👍 Have fun!
