I think Ray tracing is still way too taxing. Your far better off leaving the game as is, just bump up the graphical settings to the max the ps5 pro can hit without RT while keeping it at 4k 60 fps. I'm sure they can do that. I'd take that with a mixture of cube maps and SSR any day over a little bit of flashy ray tracing that taxes the hell out of the system resources.

No offense but this comment makes me think you don’t know much about what it takes to run a game at 4K 60 fidelity with RT. Even 4090 barely does it with Ai upscaling.
@@chrisbrown113096 they don’t.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of Digital Foundry viewers have absolutely no idea how taxing ray-tracing actually is on hardware, never mind. How are the rest of the systems work, and they continuously have me wanting to rip my hair out every time they comment.
Unfortunately though, we often find it’s the dumbest people who have the biggest voices in our community these days.

It's not native 4k. PS5 can't really handle 4k.
What about details on improvements on PSVR2?
I’m far more interested in seeing how it improves the PSVR2 experience. Nothing beats the next gen visuals and gameplay in VR!
I play on the 120Hz mode anyway, not interested in 60 fps. Going from 120 to 60 feels awful even if the resolution is higher. This isn't that big of an upgrade, IMO, especially considering the price tag.
How do they get weeks of videos from 20 seconds of footage.
I'm glad I spent $700 on something you're shitting on Nice thanks makes me feel good about the money
Alex console warrior. Crazy
I play GT 7 strictly in V.R what is the p s five pro going to add to that?
Have you checked RT in Forza Motorsport after the latest update? Because it looks great in my RTX 4070 Super PC. I use ultra settings with full reflections and ambient occlusion and no upscaling whatsoever (1440p resolution), and I get from 70-100 fps on average depending on conditions, with no stutters whatsoever.
Ps5 can do 120hz at 1440p so it's disappointing that the Pro cannot do 120hz at 4k.
It probably can without the ray tracing
Just 60hz make sure you get that check from Sony it like a 4070 right
Ok Jason.
Does it have better gameplay than Mario kart 8 deluxe?
Let's not forget that Mark Cerny has also stated it will boost PSVR2...now THAT is exciting news. Still won't get a Pro but still, good stuff.
We need true 4k that's it
DLSS and PSSR use it to hit 8k, but first, we want true 4k I will be fine with it 100 years forward!
Back in 2014 DriveClub had in game cars reflections with no RT at all.
In glorious 1080p 30fps with quality motion blur
@@youp1tralala with cars reflected in other cars, when rt didnt existed yet.
Is there a place to download these footages?
PS5 version of GT should of been in the same spirit as PGR. Have the same amazing gameplay and physics, but have it set on street circuits and include destruction. And I mean good destruction. Use the PS5s horsepower to fully utilise this.
i can only use the 4k quality mode for this game. every other setting ive tried on my sony 55inch 120hz tv i can see the jaggies on the back of the car when turning. it looks bad.
The comments show how many people jump to the comments and don't watch the video first
but it's a replay? not in game
This is still not better enough looking to me. I'll ride out my PlayStation 5 until they finally release the PlayStation 6 in 2026/27 (probably). I can wait. At least Nintendo will keep me entertained until then. They always do.
Would like to see Gran Turismo 5 with ray tracing.
The replays look good, but how much do you notice RT when you're racing? Not upgrading 😱
@@GolfWhisky I agree with you in the first half, disagree with you in the second half lol ray tracing will be noticeable trust me or try it out for yourself when the time comes.
I've tried the 120hz mode on my LG OLED. Was there an improvement over 60fps? Sure. Was it really that noticeable? Not really. Maybe for the Esports gamers it will be worthwhile but that's it. I think they're doing it right upgrading the ray tracing where most people can see improvements.
No one cares.
I do. I think having Raytracing across multiple cars and surfaces is very noticeable unless you're zoning out while gaming
@GolfWhisky you mean ps4 games right?
@@rocketmagnet427 Sony stopped making PS4 games with Gow of War Ragnarok being the last one. Find a new angle.
Wait why the title is GT5 not GT7?
Who could tell the difference between either game lol😂
The most important question is if and how PS5 Pro will improve the PSVR2 mode.
It will likely increase the price of the psvr 2 ,hey you might even get a pro version that costs as much as the pro ps5 😭
John is like the jack of all trades.
I would totally buy a Path Traced GT 5 one of my favorite entries take my money lol
At least make a playstation pro backwards compatible with all models from one onwards should have been good... imho of course.
When you’re racing, none of this will matter.
It matters more than you think.
@@shakengandulf if you’re noticing a slightly lower resolution reflection during a race you’re not driving very fast.
@red2lucas It all gets noticed.. its what helps make it an emmersive experience.
"Not going very fast" 😂
If you dont care about, just ignore it.
@@shakengandulf sounds like you’re not very fast either way
@@red2lucas You can think what you want. Stop projecting.
All I want is for this to come to PC
Yep time to remastered 😅
There are no cost effective 8k screens unless you get a great deal on a used older open box Samsung model
Plus, if it isn't a huge screen it's pretty much pointless. It's like having 4k on a handheld. 😂
@@Surelockohms I have a 85 inch Samsung QN900B that I game on and I do notice a good difference when I am playing emulators. I would probably still be able to tell on a 65 inch screen, but it would not be worth the premium pricing at that size and you have to sit like a max of 3 feet away from the screen
Your probably better off coding asseto corsa at this point. Although it should be a at your own risk because sometimes when people code too much, they dont come back.
Gt5 is the best one till this day
So you guys have the final version for the pro and are analyzing that or just speculating?
It's native video from the official Pro livestream event so it's official, but I guess you could say not final as the Pro itself isn't out for another couple months and therefore game devs could theoretically update their games version since its unveiling from the other week. Its already looking great though.
PC soon TM ? 😢
Let's add reflections to cars but leave everything else look the same. I personally don't see what people paying £700 for a console are getting here? Might just be me but I don't see the point in this update.
Forza does this in the Basse game ast 120 FPS who needs a gd PS5 Pro GTFO
These comments prove that people don't actually watch the video. Just read the title and comment.
It's Gran Turismo 7 lads
Man that looks good. Impressed where the industry has gotten us today. From 2D, to 3D and now processing effects. Yes, devs has now shifted focus to improving post processing. We pretty much perfected polygons, textures, lighting and shadows, now its post processing and A.I.
Very confusing video title vs confusing thumbail title - RT Edition
is rt worth 800 bucks? is what current ps5 owners will have to ask themselves.
That's even more true with PC. I have the money to buy a $5000 PC but it is really worth it when over 95% of PC games I like playing can run on my 4 year laptop with a 1660 ti? Even the most demanding games still look good at medium and sometimes even low graphic settings.
I do have a 4070 super desktop (mid-range PC) and have the mindset to turn graphics to ultra high at 4k when I can enjoy the same game just as much on my laptop on medium settings at 1080p.
And Forza on series X already does this
You can't say that here, only PS shilling allowed.
It looks like shit
