  • Why is Rúben Amorim Europe's most-wanted manager? Guiding Sporting to their first league title in 19 years all but guaranteed his status, and the strong likelihood of his side winning it again this year only adds to his exceptional CV.
    Sporting recognized Amorim’s talent early on, paying a huge release clause to SC Braga for his tactical mind, man-management skills, and unwavering dedication as a manager. Based on his work behind Sporting's resurgence in the 2020s, Amorim could just be the new ‘Special One’.
    Who is he, and why is he in such high demand? This is the rise of Rúben Amorim.

    For Amorim's credit Sporting's squads individually, since Amorim arrived, have been in my opinion clearly not even the best ones when compared to Benfica and Porto, due mainly to the fact that Sporting have been struggle with financial problems for many years. Despite it Amorim was able to build great teams with what is available.

    He seems to be good in tactics, but he is very good in the relationship with the players and communication with the press. In his second season Sporting was 4th and did not play very well. Benfica will finish 2nd this year (won last year) and many fans want to fire the coach. The difference: communication. Amorim explains his (bad) decisions, apologizes, etc.

He isn't really that old compared to the team. And if you see videos from backroom (whatever the equivalent for backstage. Im a musician, not a football player 😅) he looks like a kid having fun with his friends

      I disagree. Liverpool aren’t Man City or Utd. We don’t sign stars, we make them. Our current squad are so humble and mouldable. Young and hungry. You can maybe argue Van dijk and Salah would be challenging to “teach” but even then!

    Edit: Guess he’s not going to Liverpool after all. 😂 Maybe Chelsea?

    • @sachinshah4594
      @sachinshah4594 Месяц назад +3

      Yes! He's shown he is a world class coach, can operate on limited transfer budget and win against the bigger powerhouses of Porto and Benfica, sustain the performance while losing key players to bigger clubs and is great at developing talent (Porro, Palinha, Nunes, Ugarte developed as world class players under him, even Gyokores's agent said he moved to Sporting to develop under Amorim).
      This feels very similar to the situation at Liverpool. Having limited budget and competing with Man City with far better finances, prone to losing star players to bigger clubs if the team underperforms (Van Dijk, Salah and Trent on last few years of their contract, with Trent being watched closely by Madrid), and the biggest factor for me personally, a youth team with so many talents primed for development (Jarell Quansah, Bobby Clark, Connor Bradley, Jayden Danns, Harvey Elliot and other boys who won us the League Cup against Chelsea). Feels as if he is the perfect candidate for this job, might even be a better choice than Xabi Alonso in some aspects!

    • @user-ec4qq1vt4j
      @user-ec4qq1vt4j 29 дней назад +1

      I think he's the best choice that's available right now. My concerns are,
      Liverpools most loaded position is central midfield, with most of our best recent signings being in midfield, szoboslai, Mac allister, Endo, gravenberch, and then Elliot and Curtis Jones both exciting first team player, potentially even Thiago although it looks like he will leave, amorim has always stuck to the same formation with only 2 CM, that's a lot of wasted players. ThenLiverpool have trentAA come inside to midfield but overall have always been a 2 CB team, Amorim plays 3 at CB and it changes the whole dynamic of the back line, not the end of the world but retraining a defencw that's extremely drilled and conditioned to one way just iskt ideal in the short term. So unless he can be more flexible, his tactics just don't suit the current squad.
      Secondly, I know Mourinho did well, but the Premier League is a BIG step up from Portugal, the big 3 over there struggle to get results against the top 6 in England, and then top 6 England regularly get upset by the mid table teams!, its just the overall standard is such a dramatic step up from all the teams in Portugal. The fact they lose a lot of their best players to teams like Wolves and Fulham etc who are mid table in England says it all. Not shitting on Portuguese league as I do like a lot of the players that come from that league, but it is truly a different level.
      I do think he's the best available option, I think every Liverpool fan wants Alonso as his tactics at Bayern Leverkusen perfectly match up with our best 11 players, (I know he does 3 at the back as well but he uses midfielders a lot more) and he's a fan favorite, and he's done it in the bundesliga which is probably a more a difficult league
