    Its not VAR in itself it's the idiots using it, I thought the WBA game was great to watch with no VAR not just because we beat the Albion but because the game was more exciting and not having that excitement culled waiting for VAR for 3 minutes and still get it wrong

      Any team promoted to the premier league next season will likely get battered by VAR, it's in place to ensure the top 6 stay top! At least that's how it seems as lack of consistency is applied and it appears to be more lenient towards the top teams! There's too many grey areas within the rules that can be exploited by individuals operating the system, that make it a liability for most mid to lower league teams.

    Fans of every club need to make their clubs aware just how much they want this got rid of!!! They should ballot the fans and vote accordingly!

    Fair play to them. I’m sure if every PL game this season was analysed and the wins/losses calculated we’d be RIGHT UP THERE as the worst or amongst the worst affected. It wont go through, I doubt that Genie's going back in the bottle but it should for my mind at least be reduced to a Hawkeye type system simply for Goal Line debates, Penalty Area assessments. Its runing the game and taking the “sport” out of it completely.

    Goal-line technology demonstrates the bar that technological interventions should attain before they can be adopted by football - accurate, immediate rulings, directly and discreetly delivered to the referee. Tell VAR to take a hike until it has grown up and meets those stringent requirements. The document Wolves have submitted nails it perfectly:
    It's absolutely fantastic that Wolves have done this. VAR MUST GO!

    Sadly i think it will never happen. And what is worse, if we initiated the vote for this, we can prepare for even worse decisions against us next year. Originaly i wanted something like VAR for years, but what it turned into i was not expecting even in my worst nightmares. And even if by some miracle the clubs vote for the VAR to be gone, the referees are so poor, it won't make much difference. I'm not exaggerating - VAR and all those constant poor decisions not only against us but as a whole in Premier League made me loose my love for football a bit.

    I think VAR has panned out quite nicely in some leagues, but in England, it's been a total disaster. It just isn't being used in the way that it's intended to be at all, some of it's uses this season have been utterly asinine. And I think in some cases (Such as Man United vs. Coventry in the F.A. Cup) there is some pretty overt corruption going on. Until Premier League officials are educated on how to use the technology properly, they should just scrap it.

  • @bryanlea8115
    @bryanlea8115 28 дней назад +2

    This will be great, if the rest of the teams support it. I can take honest mistakes in real time by on-field officials; those tend to even out over the season. But VAR is ruining football (even when it benefits us) because of the endless delays as much as the idiotic decisions. If the Premiership can keep goal line technology and get rid of the rest of it, I think that would be the best option.

    I am 1000% with the club on this. For match going fans VAR is an abomination. It has fundamentally changed the product I have been buying for the last 45 years. We buy the joy, spontaneity, an sheer adrenalin rush when the balls hits the net, a quick glance at the linesman, then absolute limbs. I am not paying £1,000 a year on a season ticket plus parking for this product when the very essence is being taken away - do they not understand the product they are selling? The chant "It's not football anymore" is absolutely spot on, they are changing the product into a video game, if I wanted that I would buy a PS5. The frustrating thing is we know the powers that be in the premier league don't give a stuff about match going fans, and VAR is not so bad if if you are watching the game on TV, it still detracts from the enjoyment but its not quite as damaging as being in the ground and wondering what the hell is going on. I absolutely hate VAR with every fibre of my being, personally I would get rid but we know (and Jeff knows) its going nowhere, which is why I am serious considering not renewing my season ticket, for me its changed the product so much that its becoming a different thing and not something I think I want to buy.

    As a season ticket holder since 1991 , with friends of the same period. My friend told me a the palace game . He is done. Its not enjoyable anymore.
    VAR was supposed to correct clear and obvious. Now it checks everything with a view to cancel goals. And it gets that wrong.
    It intervenes and takes charge over Refs. The walk to the screen is a joke. How many have stood their ground and not been swayed by the VAR.
    It is destroying the game.
    I want rid.

    This actually makes me love Wolves more. Listening to the fans, very unusual for a large club. I don't think it will result in VAR going because it is benefitting the clubs with inflated reputations. VAR is re'refereeing the game unfortunately which is something they said it would not do. I have never seen a live game but its so bad on TV its obvious that the fan experience in the stadium is obviously ruined. Hopefully, this motion will change VAR for the better.

    David & Supporters.
    If there's any justice, all Premier League teams will vote against var.
    However the media & refs want to control our beautiful game without any consequences for their decisions.
    There is too much money to be made from the negativity var produces & the media loves this & the money it generates for themselves over fair play.
    It will be interesting to see if they release which way each club has voted. We bet they won't do this.
    ... & Var will be there again next season & the future.

    I never celebrate goals anymore, but it wont be abolished because all the other top leagues and internationals use it (eventually it will become compulsory through UEFA/FIFA rules). This is basically just a complaint about VAR from Wolves.
    VAR will be scrapped the day Man City get FFP penalties.

  • @petercurry6222
    @petercurry6222 26 дней назад

    Hats off to Jeff Shi and Wolves for this. VAR is a disaster and has and will continue to destroy the game. The question is why do the premier league clubs want to keep it❓ The majority of fans want to get rid of it, but the vouce of fans counts for nothing as usual. Let the referee and the two linesmen run the game and we will accept that they won't always get it right. But it is far better than the Big Brother interference that VAR has become. I pray that it is dumped but something tells me it will be a prayer in vain.

      @@masonpierce3086 I don't. Who cares if we find out the striker was 3 inches offsides? It's the "right call" by VAR but who cares it's not a real advantage

  • @tracyroberts6800
    @tracyroberts6800 27 дней назад

    As it is now, it needs to be scrapped. It is not fit for purpose. Goal line technology works great and it's very quick. The semi automated offside I would be interested in as long as there's enough cameras in each stadium to make the right call. In the past, VAR has been unable to look at some angles as they don't have access to the cameras. How is that possible? Communications are poor. It needs to be like cricket. Watch an international match and the videos are replayed quickly and the person reviewing talks throughout and everyone can hear and see the process. In rugby matches, the ref tells the reviewer what they want to have reviewed and asked specific questions. The videos are shown and there's feedback. Then the decision goes back to the ref and they make the call. I want to see all refs go over to the monitor. They know what's going on, whether a certain player goes down easily, or feigns a serious injury to get the foul, so they should look themselves.
    I want to hear what the algorithms for VAR are. It seems like they have little direction. Go through the appropriate algorithm for each review, keeping it simple, fair and honest. I want the VAR to be doing this as the ref is at the monitor and the ref to talk to them and say what they are seeing and make the decision together.
    It'll be interesting how many other clubs sign up with Wolves. If nothing else, it shows that changes have to be made before the start of the 24/25 season.

    Just look at the championship you score it’s given and celebrate straight away same with penalties you don’t have to wait 5 minutes to see if it stands okay there are mistakes but even with VAR every week decisions are given by VAR only to be found later to be the wrong decision just look at Wolves at the number of decisions VAR got wrong get rid of VAR it is killing the game

  • @masonpierce3086
    @masonpierce3086 28 дней назад

    VAR is not the problem. Most of the issues we've dealt with have been because of the lack VAR involvement in turning over decisions. The referees are the problem. VAR is necessary for making accurate decisions. People that cry about it delaying the game are just moronic. I'd rather take as much as needed getting the right decision than going back to the dark ages of nonstop bad calls. Nowadays ref either give pens without second thought or just ignore blatant fouls and handballs. If they remove VAR there's nothing we can do.
