Theyre not used to failing, being 3rd and getting embarrassed by both SCP and FCP within a couple weeks. It also makes it more satisfying winning with a squad of young academy players and underdogs, while Benfica has been spending 100s of millions on random foreigners.

That even led to losing a Taça de Portugal final to a significantly smaller club, that's now in the 3rd division or below with serious financial problems. What Rúben Amorim as accomplished is nothing but impressive, including a Supertaça at the start of this season as well

      Highly doubt anyone can realistically succeed at Manchester United given the Glazer ownership. Forgive my jaded attitude, but if in 8 years Manchester United can't win a PL despite of hiring elite managers like LvG and Mourinho(who were wrong fits) and a club legend like Ole(didn't win a trophy but made a lot of progress) then who can. Unless Rangnick gets the freedom to run the club in a way that makes United competitive again, I doubt any manager can succeed. I don't want to hedge my bets on a manager like Ruben Amorim who has an uninspiring CV like Graham Potter for a club like United. Ideally my preference would be Erik Ten Hag or Mauricio Pochettino to work with Rangnick, but since i'm not the owner of MUFC I don't know what will happen, but they shouldn't fuck up the next managerial appointment like they have since Fergie left.

      @@amanshukla6122 your right but let’s admit it that the Glazers have spent on the team our issue is that they spent on the wrong players ..we spent 75mil on Fridge lol ..I just believe we need to restructure the entire United team from the board and players (I think Ralf might do it )

    • @amanshukla6122
      @amanshukla6122 2 года назад

      @@mrmahape9668 Doubt it. The board definitely needs restructuring and yes Maguire is overpriced and not captain material but he isn't a bad defender. I may take digs on him and Lindelof, the former isn't bad. I just want my favourite club to be good. I know you do too. But I have zero faith in the Glazers to the point that I don't get excited with the rumor of Old Trafford renovation/expansion Coz I know they won't carry through with it even though it's urgently needed. As for the playing personnel, I think u r mainly letting your recency bias kick in, coz United's squad isn't bad. It's good enough to be in the conversation for the title. A goalie like De Gea, An attack of Rashford Bruno Sancho and Ronaldo with Greenwood upfront in the long-term is great. All United need is a legit DM to replace Matic like Declan Rice or Jude Bellingham, a DM who can actually take leadership of the defense or assist Raphael Varane, like Jules Kounde or Benoit Badiashile, and a RB who actually could push AWB to improve his offensive game or replace him like Kieran Trippier

    Amorim is one manager to have attention in the future. He did a fantastic job at Braga and he is doing even better at Sporting. No one expected Sporting to win the portuguese league last year, almost a miracle for many people. Sporting only pass the group stage of the champions league once in their history, this was the second time. Idk if he suits Ragnick style, but is a manager that United (and other clubs) should have a look.

    • @pedrorequio5515
      @pedrorequio5515 2 года назад

      I usually don't look at goals, I am very obcessed in how teams play, after 2016 season, everyone expected a fight between Benfica and Sporting again in the next year, but I saw an early game by Porto, with Sergio, and I thought they were really strong, they won the league and to this day I believe that both Amorim and Sergio are great coachs. Last year with sporting I turned to a friend of mine in the very early season when Benfica was leading even, and I told him that I liked the sporting way of playing, unlike the arrogant style of the past, they took a very defensive posture, that was realistic, because financially they could not compete with the other 2. My friend was for Sporting but he did not believe me. It was only after the win against Benfica that most people began to believe, for that match, my opinion was contrary to most people, I could see a world were Benfica would have won, Sporting played really well, but there were 2-3 very promissing oportunities for Benfica that resulted in phenomenal defenses by Adan, my Sporting friends never recognise the role of Adan, Adan is a fantastic goalkeeper, in my opinion easily leaving behind the memory of Rui Patricio. Had Benfica scored at those oportunities they would have won the match, I labbeled Adan the man of the match.
      Sporting winning side last year was much weeker than this year side, even with Nuno Mendes gone, they keeped defensive prowess, with a much better and more focused attack, Benfica is going trough something, though my biggest criticism of Benfica is their fisical fitness, Benfica last year was good, for the first 30 minutes and then conceded from almost every team, looking at their players vs sporting and Porto is night and day.
      Sporting isn't all Amorim despite what many sporting fans may believe, Varandas and Hugo Viana nailed the structure for Football, Jorge Jesus went to Flamengo and Benfica, but in the mean time he was robbed of his greatest asset, Raul José, he is coordenator of scouting at Sporting, he worked with Ruben in Benfica and Belenenses, he didnt go with Jesus to Brazil, instead decided to stay in Portugal with Varandas who already knew him, he is the reason Sporting has been procuring such great signings. Before him sporting had unbelievably bad signings.

    Just to add a bit to your analysis, his attacking style is not very fluid and, especially last year, was predictable. However, players know what to do in any context so despite the reduce fluidity, they still create chances.
    He reminds me of Conte, in the sense that the team is very competitive, very aggressive with their positioning and very capable of executing offensively, although a bit predictable.
    At the individual level, Matheus Nunes will probably be sold high and Bragança will then burst, the most classy midfield of SCP
