Sacking Jose the week of the cup final and appointing Ryan Mason is all you need to know about the mentality created by the owners.

If i was him i would just do what conte did and get myself sacked so i know i can't be blamed for failure
He won't be sacked. He might walk away . He did that to Australia after getting them qualified for the world cup saying he's not backed by the FA.

If you're a fan in that area or even a fan of Spurs fan in general it makes sense. In 6 months we'll have forgot Spurs missed out on CL football, but you certainly wouldn't hear the end of Spurs becoming a meme for handing Arsenal a title. That would last a decade, if not longer. If you're not a fan then it wouldn't make sense. Same way Arsenal fans when polled would have given up winning Europa if it meant Spurs didn't win the CL, and that's not even the same as the league, it's two unrelated games. Do not underestimate Ange's willingness to leave at the end of the season. He would consider the fan's behaviour as toxic, and entrenched. He will see that they are not on the same page, and this is a big thing for him. He left the Australian coaching job straight after qualifying them for the World Cup. Not many managers would do this. His job wasn't under pressure. He felt that the hierarchy in Australian football didn't have the same beliefs as him. At Tottenham, he believes the fan base is the most important component, and if they don't have the same beliefs then he'll go. He has plenty of money, he's had his opportunity to manage in the PL, and most likely he'll get a job very quickly. He will not compromise on his principles. Tottenham fans live in a fantasy land. A big stadium and fan base doesn't make you a big team. Big teams win things. Tottenham have won next to nothing for 3 generations. For 2mths all the fans and press have banged on about Champions League football, and with that on the line, they'd rather lose so their "rival" won't win anything. Arsenal fans must surely consider other teams better rivals. It's hard to care about a team who doesn't take trophies off you. Postecoglou has won everywhere he's gone, the idea of losing for pub bragging rights must infuriate him. Its a small team mentality, and clearly this week it wasn't just the fans who had it based on what he said.

Tottenham can never become as big as Arsenal, United or Liverpool. If a fanbase is more concerned about their rivals than themselves, then there is a lot wrong with the so called 'big club'.
Why do the fans deserve better? Fans that actually cheer for their team to lose?
Oh Micah, and you knows this as well, when Ange is talking about the last 48 hours, he's talking about the fans. We all know what he means when said that. Stop sugar coating it. And it definitely wasn't there, thats as flat as I've seen Tottenham fans be and they only started singing when Haaland made it 2. It genuinely was parhetic. This is what the premier league is come to. An oil money state run club winning every year and a club who rather lose so a rival doesnt win.

And any fan who hates their rivals more than they love their club is a disgrace and a club like Spuds should not even be in the conversation for big six from now on, what have they won at the end? Nothing.
And they had the chance to stop Arsenal when they played at home, like Everton did. Do you think a club like United or City Or Chelsea would have accepted defeat to stop their rivals from winning? They never would, cos they are big clubs with fans who know what winning feels like. Such a disgraceful set of fans I have ever seen and ashamed they belong in the Premier League.
Jamie passionately missing the point - again. Ange was not calling out Spurs as a business mate. He was calling out the fans. He said Spurs fans were 100% for victory. Now he realises they were not. Tell the truth mate
Ange learned today « it’s the history of the Tottenham »
Everyone's just too serious...afterall its just a game😂
Spot on. I enjoy watching Spurs nowadays without sound. Good for my nerves. Spot on once again
Arsenal fans with their antics and hubris, Spurs fans with their mentality truly deserve each other. It's like they gathered all the rotten eggs and buried them in North London. Congrats to both.
Idiotic comment
Kudos to Ange for sending his team out to have a go!!! The fans on.the other hand are an absolute joke!!! Everyone around the world were laughing AT THEM not with them.
Firstly, I am a Gooner so I come in peace. I was, maybe, one of those Gooners who was not at all hoping for Tottenham to win so we can win the league. I really couldn't get on with that. I did watch the game as I have watched many games this season. I felt that Tottenham played so well in the first half but in the second half the played like they did not want to. Truly, I want Arsenal to win the league, but not like this. Not like this.
Ange is a very good manager. Very good. Tottenham players do have a habit of doing this to managers, undo all the good work they do. Conte's rant last year did not come out of thin air. That man tried.
All we can do now is look forward to the Euros and then the new season. I am hoping and praying that good football will prevail next season and those of us for whom football is art in motion will see real football played again.
lets not misunderstand this,, Ange is frustrated from lack of support from the fans and not the management,,,, that perfomance from spurs last night was top level it only needed a full stadium support to cross the line, win 3 points and have a great chance at UCL because as a matter of fact Villa will lose at palace but the fans chose to stay neutral. Fans are holding back the club and it must be so frustrating to Ange, Levy and the players UCL comes with money, pedigree and a reward for spurs good perfomances this season.
What??? Spurs fans do not deserve better. They literally want their team to lose.
It was a One off and Villa only needed a sraw even if Spurs won both games AND they were realists that they would gout in the group stage however in 30 years they will STILL be reminded that they handed to title to their bitter rivals.
Why did no one just call it out and say Ange was annoyed at the mentality of the fans?
Yeah that's what lost him the game the fans mentality. He's deflecting from his own failings.
In the last two years we’ve pretty much created a whole new team
Why can’t spurs fans want to stop Arsenal but Arsenal fans can support spurs? Surely Arsenal fans should never support spurs. Ever.
Arsenal fans have been supporting whoever the hell city have been playing for the last 2 months to gain an advantage in the title race. It just happened to be spurs today lol.
Cause spurs winning benefits Arsenal. But spurs wanting to lose hurt Arsenal and hurt their own chances of monetary reward and champions league spot. One is self sabotage to spite another one is supporting the enemy to win the bigger battle
Spurs today have bit off their own nose to spite their face.
Wanting a rival to win because it helps you makes sense
Wanting a rival to lose when you have nothing at a steak makes sense
Wanting your own team to lose and sacrifice UCL football to make your rivals title hopes smaller makes 0 sense.
@cauliflowerpete616 think about it.. Arsenal supporting another team winning is entirely different to Spurs wanting to lose..
@@TM-uh1qpsomeone with a braincell. Thank you
"Need 3 points for FREE? Call Tottenham Hotspurs NOW!" - Terms & Conditions (in small prints) - "This offer is valid to all EPL teams rivaling Arsenal for the title"... That's the motto and all the ambitions of the majority of Tottenham's fan-base! If I was an Arsenal fan, I`d print it in a huge bandolier and display it on every EPL game at the Emirates, forever.
So silly , Tottenham played really well but couldn't beat City. Summing up that Tottenham didn't play to win is a ridiculous statement.
@@eagleairborne7132 You're reading in between the lines mate, so I`ll quote the part you missed - "Basically, that's the motto and all the ambitions of the majority of Tottenham's fan-base!"
That was strong stuff from Ange at the post match PC! He's clearly now seen where he's at, same as Mourinho and Conte before him, not sure he'll even want a way back from that!
I have been watching you for a long time and your creativity continues to attract attention. Thank you for your talent!🦍♀️🤚
Arsenal fans have no right to question why spurs fans wanted to lose to stop them winning the league when in 2019 they were saying they’d rather lose to us in Baku and Spurs lose the UCL final
Difference is, Arsenal's match in Baku had no bearing on preventing Spurs winning a UCL. If anyone thinks Arsenal fans weren't cheering on Arsenal in that Europa League final and were not disappointed to lose heavily to Chelsea. Meanwhile, Spurs are currently doing fancams uncorking bottles of champagne after their team has lost.
I dont know a single Arsenal fan who said that
The Europe league final had no impact on the champions league final so your point makes no sense
🤣🤣the two points made are soo right n shows this person has zero idea! Clearly Spuds fan!
@@jj4ts185 of course it did, Alex Iwobi scoring clearly made Poch rethink his tactics to make sure his team tried to emulate the same outcome
He’s right. The Spurs vs Arsenal rivalry is almost just fake at this point. Spurs have never ever won anything close to what Arsenal have. Yet because they sometimes finish in the top 4, they are linked with Arsenal. They are two different clubs. Arsenal are actually respected , they’ve won stuff, yes , it’s been a while, but Tottenham are literally irrelevant
Spurs have multiple European trophies.
Your right you not on same level.
Arsenal are not respected. Whole country was celebrating tonight
Spurs literally have more european trophies than arsenal
Arsenal isnt respected lol
@@user-vm9hh2se7stells you everything shows how big they are ofcouse they will be going against arsenal tottenham is small compared to arsenal
What is Jamie all yapping about, he totally misinterpreted the question. Ange was referring to the winning mentality or rather the absence of it in the club inside out, to the point of sacrificing their champions league spot just to stop their neighbours from winning the PL. Not speculating that’s what has happened on the pitch, but he must have heard chatters of such talk within the club to say such a thing, which tells you everything you want to know about them. Maybe Arsenal or for that matter any other team winning would have broken the mental barrier every other top team faces at the start of the season when they see the gap in Quality between them and Spurs. And that perhaps is the most important thing. Klopp broke that barrier and that reflected on the field when they won or took the race to the last day in those two years.
He realises the club has no ambition.
1st goal was offside, not even checked.
Spurs controlling the VAR tonight. “Nope, clearly onside, check done” happy days …
How was that offsides ? All I saw was Romero being a shitty defender he always is timidly running to a ball as if he was afraid to go win it the ball and make a proper challenge which allowed Foden to cross the ball. The pass to KDB was perfectly onside, and Haaland was just a tap in from onside position. So I don 't know where you get the offsides from.
These guys don't get it. Spurs fans dont want champions league football. Not cos they wouldn't like it but the fans know their club is not good enough to compete. They want to be in a competition that they feel they have a chance. They cant be emotionally invested in a comp that they know they wouldnt win. So they want Europa while wanting to ensure Arsenal don't win. To them, this was a win - win situation
@0LLy796 . Wait, didn't spurs compete in the Europa conference league with a better squad and manager than they currently have? What makes them think that the Europa league is their level. All 4 teams in the Semi finals of that competition this season would destroy the spuds. What do you think is going to happen next season in the Europa league if you make it. You certainly won't win it. You guys don't win anything
@@Misterrose189 they can have hope for that league than they would with the champ league
yes lets just ignore the money from UCL participation and the players it attracts
@@Fakeslimshady that's all they would get and it would've been marginal anyway. Not like an extra 20 mil would make much of a diff to the club. The fans would rather be in something that they feel they have a chance of winning than to be in something where the chances are significantly lower
@@0LLy796 yeah its only like 80 million pounds. Very marginal.
I’ve been a Spurs fan since 1981. Nothing has changed in all that time with the clubs desire to compete and win at the very top level. There is and has been no desire. They could have won a Champions League final, a premier league and a cup or two but, it just felt the players did not really fight in the crucial moments. That’s what we see, god only knows what goes on behind the scenes. Conte and now Ange have given us a little insight.
Levy has told Ange to throw top four. Disgraceful.
He's lost 5/6 and bottled it against Fulham in the cup. Where was the winning mentality in that game?
