"I don't really like country music. I don't mean to denigrate those people who do like country music. And to those who do like country music - denigrate means to "put down"." - Bob Newhart
lol Newhart A+
I feel like this is such an elitist concept. Real country music comes from being poor and working all day in order to be able to eat properly. It brings up the repressed feelings of a society bound by work and christian values, that are usually soothed by lichor or acts that comes from poor emotional devlopment. You ain't telling me Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and The Highwaymen have nothing of value to say. I can't and won't defend some categories of modern country, however. But I do believe this is an elitist thought from someone who never lived this reality or is running away from it's own background.
@@eduardamedeiros3570 Geezus, it’s not a concept, it’s a joke. Don’t you know who Bob Newhart is?
@@eduardamedeiros3570 You're never bound to your values. You have the power to change them if you want. Folk, Americana, rock, rap, and other all speak the same message as what you speak of it's just that the sound that accompanies the lyrics is part of the problem with a lot of post 1990s country.
I met Toby Keith in a bar (he was a lot taller and slimmer in person). We shook hands and I told him that I didn’t like country music but liked that song he did about that dog. He looked perplexed.
“Hey, it’s me, Anne Hathaway from…ANNE HATHAWAY” was the best line 😂
100% Made me LOL.
My life is so much better now that I have a daily dose of Conan. Conan has always been my favorite talk show host.
Mine too
Conan has been doing podcasts even before his show ended, you just didn't know where to look 🤣🤔
@@sicfxmusic Hey dips*it. I've been listening to Conan on Spotify since he started. Don't assume that you know everything about a person based on one comment. Get a life.
I have been in a difficult place lately. I’ve been binging on Conan and it really lifts me up with laughter.
we've literally been able to get a daily dose of him for like the last 30 years
The super quick editing between everyone during the more animated parts of the conversations is top notch. Nice work!
Tig talking about “staying present”while pulling out her phone to look at cat pictures, and then calling her friend during her **Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien** appearance, and then referring to Conan as “this guy” to her friend (probably almost a decade ago by now) remains one of my top, all time favorite, most hilarious things I’ve ever seen on a late night show 😂🤣
**Tig** - “Hey what’s up?”
**Friend** - “Just sitting here with my cat. What are you doing?”
**Tig** - “Nothin.”
and that friend was stephanie
I want Under A Rock to come back! That show was hilarious.
Same, it was really enjoyable.
Me too
Same, Sweden here watched all the episodes, hilarious!😂👍
I really never heard of it. Do they have it on RUclips?
@@pmp521 Yes, it was on Funny or Die. They only gave us like 10 episodes, but they were glorious.
I can’t stop laughing at the idea of Mr. McJagger. 🤣
Loved “Under a Rock” and was hoping she was going to say that a new season was coming😭
I thought it made her look like a self obsessed jerk.
Same!
I want an entire podcast of Conan listing fake reality show titles, they are hilarious
I know. I'd also watch "Who Wants To Buy a Mule." I like "Well Fix Your Flue," too. 😂
Sona being a heavy HGTV fan is the least surprising development ever to happen on this podcast
Gross. HGTV addiction is a real disease.
@@2beJT imagine even caring about HGTV the amount you do
@@swimfan752 It might not be easy but imagine anyone caring what you have to say about anything.
My coworker's wife watches it all day. She constantly has to improve their perfectly fine house.
He's redone the same bathroom 3 times in the 10 years I have known him.
@@2beJT completely anecdotal evidence, doesnt mean anything at all. Tons of people watch hgtv and havent changed anything at their place.
Did you expect me to run a double blind experiment with years of data for a youtube comment?
That's not going to happen but how about a thought experiment?
If you watch shows about fixing up houses all day how does it help you grow as a person other than giving you ideas for projects around the house?
She may not recognize Anne Hathaway, but she never forgets Taylor Dayne!
Right???? 😂😂😂😂😂
👏 👏 well done! 😃
I see them being more comfortable in this new room by the episode. Grateful for the content!
The accents that Conan is doing lately are amazing! great work guys!
If anyone cares to know.....
Anthony "Ant" Anstead, is an English mechanic and TV presenter.
He came to California to replace Edd China as the mechanic on "Wheeler Dealers"( which was a quaint English show with a car dealer, and a mechanic, who would buy, fix and flip cars, in fun, informational, and entertaining way. At some point the American network "Velocity"(now Motor Trend) took over production and moved production from London-ish to LA-ish.
After a couple seasons, the mechanic, Edd China, left. They brought Ant in to replace him.
While working on the show, he got involved with, married and had a son with Christina Haack(El Moussa/Anstead/Hall) who is a TV Real estate investor/flipper with her first Husband Tarrek El Moussa.
She and Ant split up around the beginning of the pandemic.
Ant has since also left Wheeler Dealers, and some new bloke named Elvis has replaced him.
Omg this is the greatest podcast ever! And Tig is just a perfect compliment to Conan, Sona and Matt 😂
Complement
Matt used to do play by play for Tig's wife's community basketball team. Pistol Shrimps Radio. Great podcast.
Conans podacast is great l, Don’t ask Tig is great, Inside Conan is great. Kept me going through Covid
Yes I love how Tig talks when needed and listens when needed
I’ve seen “Under a Rock” and about half the time I found myself right there with her having no idea who those people were.
Tig is amazing
And the Putin joke had me CRYING!!!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣 I haven’t seen him in a while. CRYING!!!!!!
Thank you, keep posting the longer videos or full episodes!!!!
"Hey, It's Conan O'Brien from the sex cult!"
We aren't supposed to ask questions about that.
Under a Rock is hysterically funny and so inventive
I loved Under a Rock. It was one of my favorite web shows.
"You've Got an Onion, That's My Hat!" is a show I'm eagerly anticipating
Loved Under a Rock! I relate so hard. Love both of you for sooo long now!
Conan should resurrect Under a Rock as a podcast with Tig!!!!!❤❤That could quite possibly be so amazing it changes the world🤯
"Flip floppity flue." I'd watch that.
The first movie I did ever background for Sarah J Parker was in it. We were told not to talk to the stars. I was told that her cousin was her stand in and looked just liked her. I was sitting by myself and she comes over and talks to me for 10 mins and the whole time I thought I was talking to her cousin. She walks away and some crew rush over and ask what we talked about. I realized i just chatted away with SJP.
That's nice she was open. You wouldn't expect that from SJP.
So obnoxious that those rules are a thing. You're all at work, talking to colleagues. Wtf?
"You've got an onion, that's MY hat!" is a show begging to be made.
I'm Anne Hathaway from Anne Hathaway.
I actually kinda like Conan’s serious views on things
He had some videos called “serious jibber jabber with Conan” or a similar title, including an insightful, long-form interview with Martin Short
Burt Mustin played Gus the Fireman on Leave It to Beaver. And he played a man whose father was killed by Jesse James on the Brady Bunch ( *"Jesse James was nothing but a mean, dirty killer!"* ) Thank you, Conan! I feel validated.
Near the end there Conan actually stumbled onto the plot of an old “Married With Children” episode where Kelly is playing in a game show and discovers she loses an old fact for every new fact she learns. And of course one of the facts she loses is the answer to the final question of the game show. Weirdly I think about that episode all the time.
That one is funny. I still remember her answer to the last question: red squeeze buzzer.
Applegate does not get enough credit for being a comedy genius.
She was the core the anchorman. It sucked without her.
Was the question "who was the running back from Polk High who scored 4 touchdowns in a single game?"
@@tonymarselle8812 She was essentially the straight man, a super important part of a good comedy, sometimes as funny or funnier than the goofballs around them. I agree!
@@tonymarselle8812 I like Christina Applegate. I think she’s a fine actress and from what I can tell from interviews, a genuinely good and intelligent person. But I disagree with calling her a comedic genius. She was great in MwC though.
Damn this was an amazing conversation!
I love Conan's take on pop culture and the way he said there's not enough time in life to know all pop culture references.
I have the same experience of being in the grocery store and seeing magazines covered with people who I've never heard of. I usually get when someone is making a pop culture reference but I don't care if I don't know all or any of the details. As Tig says, "I follow other things."
Conan's so quick with his wit
I could listen to this group create reality shows all day.
"You guys don't watch HGTV at all?"
I'll be honest with you, Sona, I often forget it exists, and even when I remember, I'm like, "How is this channel still around? Nobody watches it." 😂
Her and middle aged/older women like my mother help keep that channel alive. I'll be honest, it can make for relaxing background viewing but that's about it.
Seems to be on at every doctor's office in America.
@@JakobNoone Definitely. It's the default channel in a lot of places with televisions since it's an uncontroversial choice that most people like.
@@musicfan1427 Exactly. The only safe choice!
@@chadross There’s actually great shows on there. I’m 25 and I’ve always loved home design… which I get from my mom lol 😂
You guys validate me!!! Thank you!!!
You don’t know Aunt Anstead? She makes the best lemon merengue pie.
is like noone going to acknowledge how amazing it is that the guys wife thought "mick jagger", was a single irish last name like "McJagger"
There are several comments regarding that moment from days before yours.
Conan you are missed, please do more of these🙂.
He podcasts every week
@@JS-bc5my yeah, but that are visual are they, just audio?
Ok - Burt Mustin was born in 1884!!!!! (d. 1977). And now thanks to Conan he has one of my brain cells 😂
I just googled "burt mustin" and that's exactly who I thought he was! He did play every old guy in Hollywood. What a career!
"And then she got the onion" 😂😂 Tig is a gem
Love Conan. Love Tig. Love everyone involved. But what I REALLY love is that "Directed By John Glen" T-Shirt! Nice choice.
Under a rock was so enjoyable. Can't believe the sponsor backed out.
Ant is a British car show mechanic from Wheeler Dealers on the Motor Trend channel. Great show and top notch mechanic. 👍
Zen-Day-A. Sona got it right
Can we please get a digital short of Conan making up reality shows on-the-spot for 10 minutes? Thank you, Everyone
Right? 😂😂😂 so funny
I live under a rock too, because I had no idea who Tig Notaro was. She seems like an interesting person.
This entire conversation has given my life legitimacy. I have no idea who this Ant person is. I don't care. I googled Kim Kardashian and felt like I had lost precious minutes of my life (literally, which I rarely feel) long after she had risen to fame. That she has so much influence is astounding to me. I loved under a Rock, and rarely knew the person myself.
But do you know the name of a minor actor in a show from the 70s
LOL. I had to look up Burt Mustin.
I TOTALLY RECOGNIZE HIM! So funny!
I remember him from an episode on the Brady Bunch. He told Bobby that Jesse James killed his father… or something like that.
Looked him up too! Yep, that face has one of my brain cells. 😁
Just love Tig so much
Tig keeping celebrities humble! haha!
This was pure brilliant. Omfg laughing so hard right now. This was pure gold!!!
✌️😆🤟
Burt Mustin deserves much more recognition than Ant Antman. He was Gus!
I googled Burt and actually recognize him!
Love this podcast
I've watched this a few times now and it's funny throughout, but the part that gets me the most every time is when Matt says "I'd watch that" after Conan says "... the show Who wants to buy a mule?" And I don't even know why I find it so funny, it just gets to me for whatever reason.
You know.. Conan is supernatural hero.
I'm dying!! 😂
The show, "Who Wants to Buy a Mule"
😂😂😂😂
This podcast is awesome
This is the first of me knowin Conan has a podcast!
I ran into Anne Hathaway at Coachella. She was just out there with the savages at night with no security or anything. We just stared at each other for like a minute and to this day I regret not speaking to her. I didn't want to bother her...
Why did she stare at you?
@@kickedinthecalfbyacow7549 I have no idea. I didn't believe it was her ( I had been in that Indio sun all day) until I read some article a few days later saying she was there to see TV on the Radio. 😆
RIP Gerard Smith
@@pmorton7960lol that has happened to me with a few celebs. They wait to see if you will speak to them.
I think I would just say "I loved you in Les Misèrables" if I saw her. Hoping that it was actually her on that movie, and not Natalie Portman.
I wish these whole podcats were on youtube.
Ah yea my Cona con conason show is amazing, keep it up yall.
I got to admit. I didn't realize his name was "Mick Jagger" either. I never thought about it before, but I probably would have gone with "McJagger". 😀
I like the bit where Conan does his own shopping.
it's so different when you hear a podcast on spotify and then you see the video
It can't be a coincidence that the next video RUclips auto-played is one where Conan says the word "fluish" to Norm MacDonald fifteen seconds in.
This is hilarious 😂💀
Even though I listen to this podcast, I also don't recognize celebrities. I usually google the guest and then recognize them as "that person that was in that thing I saw ." Like Tig Notaro is the lady from Discovery that I wish was in the show more.
I love Ernest Borgnine in Johnny Guitar! Nicholas Ray movies don't miss! And this was sooo great, I didn't know Tig notaro before but this made me a fan!
it's sooo much fun to sit and talk about the utterly mundane and exceedingly ordinary lives of us humans, isn't it ? The last time I think I had this much fun hearing about the totally unimportant, I was in line at the 7-11 on Pico....
Brutal lighting setup.💡
As a Snerkbol, I had to laugh when she said "I follow documentaries." Any other Snerkbols out there who found that line humourous?!
Hey, it's the guy who was on that late night show with Andy Richter!
Love Tig and Conan... Conan's assistant ❤
I feel their pain. At work, I meet 1,000 people a night... 1,000. I've worked their over 1,000 days... that's over 1,000,000 people I've met (including Tig). I can barely remember my co-workers names and faces let alone that person I met 2 weeks ago.
Grocery store or restaurant?
@@Wabajak13 neither, concert merch.
@@Wabajak13 what restaurant do you think serves 1000 people a night? Dude lmao
I've worked in front of house in theatre for 20 + years and l struggle to recognise people outside of work. I've often wondered if something is wrong with me. I would be relieved if there is some kind of facial blindness that l could explain to people. Covid and masks in the last few years only made it worse.

I digged the band closet lighting and walls lol. Brighten it up coney island! Lol
"We'll Fix Your Flue" lolol
Imagine pairing Mr. Ed O´Neill (famous for not being able to remember names) with Ms. Tig Notaro at an Oscars Awards Ceremony.
There's only so much time in a day. I think one must choose what to listen to or think about.
"Only when I'm in a hotel" LoL
“You’ve got an onion…” cracked me up!
Hearing your name from Conan's mouth itself must make u feel legendary, m talking to you Pete Davidson 😀😀😂😂
I loved Under a Rock so much
1:02 I mean, does Conan know he has a resting serial killer face now
One of the few places where I can reasonably expect a Burt Mustin reference in 2022.
Tig is an amazing story teller.
I don’t have cable but HGTV is always on at my dentist. That’s all it takes for me to identify the Property Brothers.
Love tig.
I was at a party many many years ago for the birthday party for this big agent at CAA and this beautiful brunette woman came over and started talking to me. We spoke for about ten minutes then she left and my friend came over and asked me what I talked to Anne Hathaway about, and I said, "What?!"... I didn't realize that I had been talking to Anne Hathaway for ten minutes. LOL!! True story.
That’s amazing! Do you remember what you guys talked about?
Yeah right!
You got 12 "likes" - does your life have meaning now?
I love Burt Mustin. He was Beaver’s friend on Leave It to Beaver.
Anne Hathaway egolessly explaining who she is, is just the kind of sweet thing I’d expect from Anne Hathaway.
Thank God, I thought Conan will never return!
This is awesome!
I needed this!
Thought that was Tom cruise for a quick second
😆
Anne Hathaway is someone whose movies I have seen, but she's one of those celebrities who's a big enough star that she's kind of ubiquitous. No one has to see her movies to know that she is a famous actress. There are so many celebrities that I am conscious of but have no interest in whatsoever. It's just about being aware of the world around you, which includes names that you might see as you're scrolling through a bunch of headlines. I don't know how a person doesn't accidentally absorb that sort of basic information if they consume any sort of media at home or elsewhere. The "McJagger" thing is grounds for divorce.
I have heard of ann hathoway but have no idea what she looks like. You're not alone.🤣
Never heard of Under A Rock till today. Now trying to find who is streaming it.
