    Great video. Sometimes those have dings but more often grinder marks on the fins from the factory. That’s how they balance it. So if you see grinding on the top of the fins don’t freak out. Also 5/16 x 25.4 = 7.94 Let’s call it an 8mm.

    Those tricky bolts that gave you trouble in the center cartridge like to back out some times. Thats what happen to mine. Then it screws up your cartridge and a bunch of other stuff. Great video, keep up the good work.

    There is a 16th inch gap that I don’t think supposed to be there behind the compressor housing plate. I wish I could send you a picture. Something is leaking oil around the turbo. Like the two bolts that hold it down to the pedestal have some oil on them in that area.

    I just purchased a 99 f450 7.3 with 6 speed.
    Its perfect for my line of work as a brick mason since it has a 9 foot flatbed.
    It has a 4" exhaust and what looks to be a K&N intake.
    Im curious what mods i could do for more power hauling heavy loads that won't sacrifice reliability?
    I had a 2000 f350 i purchased new and this 99 already runs stronger. Probably has slightly lower gears which helps but it seems to have more power to begin with.
    Not looking for a hot rod, just wantinng better performance while towing.

    • @LivingOnWheels
      @LivingOnWheels  2 месяца назад +1

      Some mild tunes would make a world of difference for towing. Nice thing is you don’t have to go crazy with it. I’m sure a turbo could help some but not really necessary.

    • @goldentrunnell7450
      @goldentrunnell7450 2 месяца назад

      @LivingOnWheels I hauled a load of stone the other day, the trailer I use is only sixteen feet so not very heavy. The payload was 9000 lbs.
      Overall I probably wasn't over 20,000 lbs gross but was very happy with how it pulled going through some mountain passes.
      I only paid $4000 for this truck which was a steal in my opinion.
      It only has 135,000 miles and is in great condition still.
      The f350 that I had before had 350,000 miles when I sold it, no idea how how many it has now? That was ten years ago.
      Can you suggest what tunes might be good?
      I'm thinking if I put a little money into this truck as far as performance it would be even better.
      There's a couple exhaust brakes I'm looking at, are there any negative effects using those?
      Thanks for responding to my previous post.

    • @LivingOnWheels
      @LivingOnWheels  2 месяца назад

      @@goldentrunnell7450 As far as I am concerned the best route to go with tuning these trucks is the PHP Hydra. I actually did a video on it not too long ago if you check out the channel page.

    • @goldentrunnell7450
      @goldentrunnell7450 2 месяца назад

      @LivingOnWheels I did watch that video, that's the one I've been leaning towards.
      I'm 61 so the technology side of things is a little over my head! I have a couple VW beetles I tinker with and could tell you a lot about those. Haha...
      The one I was driving today is a 2110cc compared to the 1200cc it originally came with. Couterweighted cranks, big valve heads and dual Weber carbs all make sense to me.
      Switching out electronics and pushing buttons to modify power in your engine doesn't make as much sense in my old brain so I like watching videos like yours.
      Thanks again for your input.

  • @velocityturbosuzuki

    Gonna be a great video, my 2001 f250 7.3 stock turbo is sounding different. Not sure what the problem is most likely the turbo is taking a dump. Would a rebuild be better than buying a aftermarket turbo?

    • @LivingOnWheels
      @LivingOnWheels  4 года назад

      Both are good options. Mainly depends on the power levels you are hoping for. If you just want to keep it stock or just a tune then this kit would be a great route

      That should be a regular OBS powerstroke so any of the stuff for those would work. Best option would be a T4 kit or a superduty system swap for the intercooler.
