Love your Las Vegas series so far because you guys have hit all the good spots - not just the newer hype locations but also this old-school steakhouse that the locals love. I'm shocked at the prices though...but seems worth it!
I’ve lived in Vegas since 1977 and can honestly say the Golden Steer has not changed one bit. It has always been top notch. One caveat though, bring money because it ain’t cheap.
Even though many other creators have visited The Golden Steer none have captured the ambiance as well as you have. The lighting was fantastic. It made the decor seem perfect for having a memorable meal and it showed in the video. This is my favourite of the Vegas series so far. It’s going to be hard to top this one Looking forward to next time. All the best to you both.
Thanks for watching! It’s tough to film in a lot of these restaurants because of how dark and loud they are but I’m glad we were able to do it justice. Unfortunately we only shot one more video while we were in Vegas but we’re planning a trip back soon!
Great episode! Judging by the heaps of smiles it looks like this is one of the best steakhouse experiences in the videos you've made! Love it! Everything about the place looks awesome! Thanks for the great continuing coverage you guys keep releasing! ✨
Kristin & Will, I've been waiting for this review since you told me you visited here. I've been to Golden Steer a couple of times and it's arguably my all-time favorite steak house. Really great review and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Makes me want to go back again :)
My wife and I were there as locals for the first time last Wednesday after waiting 4 months to get that reservation. It was delightful. We had the steak and lobster for two with an extremely fresh oyster appetizer. Our sides were the Caesar salad, baked potatoe and Mac/cheese. All extremely well prepared and delicious. The ambience reminded me of Piero’s, where many restaurant scenes in Casino were filmed. I agree that the service was excellent and overall the experience was a real treat.
I've said here before, it's my number two favorite as a local. Ten years ago, you could walk right in and get seated. Now, it's a month wait. Should also be mentioned to use Uber to go to Golden Steer. Parking can be dicey. While Golden Steer is outstanding, Michael's at South Point is next level. Thanks for the video.
We’ll definitely need to try Michael’s if you like it even more than here! Yes, we walked but the parking lot was very small and for a few other businesses as well. Thanks for watching!
It was amazing! Definitely worth checking out if you’re ever in Vegas. Of those we’ve only been to SW and did prefer the steak a bit more there but this experience was really something special
I've been going to the Golden Steer since the late seventies when I was in my 20s. Back then, it was an ala carte steak, and that was it. It was all I could afford. Over the last two or three years we had to cut back to once per year, as the prices have gone out of control. A few years ago getting a reservation wasn't that hard. There was even a time where you could get a groupon for the golden steer. But those times have passed. Getting a reservation at a decent hour is now impossible unles you book months in advance. I recommend the shrimp cocktail. It is the standard by which we judge all others. And the lobster tail is amazing, and huge.
Golden Steer is great ! Service phenomenal. I went a couple weeks ago. If you like Lobster, the tails are huge!! I wanna say 12 or 13 oz. I got the 12oz filet and the tail was bigger. So good, I'll be back soon. Reservation was late so I skipped dessert, although I want that cherries jubilee. They also do an off the menu "sapphire" jubilee, which is blueberry
That’s crazy! Next time we’d love to do that surf and turf dinner for two. Wow we definitely need to try that! Guess we’ll have to get both of those next time
I started off with the Apple of my Eye cocktail and ordered the crab legs lobster tail and filet mignon. They were all perfect!! After watching your guys' video Im going to have to go back for the Caesar and bananas foster!!! Oh yes and it must be noted that the staff get an A+++ for their excellent service! Great vid "Like"
I f first ate there in 1969! That steak you ordered looked fantastic! Pricewise for $95 @ 24oz it was a steal! Yes, I enjoyed their Caesar salad & Bananas foster as well! Great classic 1950's setting! Good video! I also think I enjoyed their lamb chops on several occasions!😅
Give me the old school nearly every single time. I feel like most modern restaurants are too phony and plastic. Love all that wood and leather interior. Sadly Vegas didn’t preserve its history very well… You guys ordered very well. Got the show for your Caesar salad. That ribeye was EPIC. Char, seasonings, garlic, butter… looks like a heavenly piece of meat. As you mentioned… maybe a bit too much butter but why not lay those bread rolls on it to soak some of it up? Potato looks like bake it, remove the insides to make a mashed potato with sour cream, bacon, etc. then cheese on top and into the broiler to get that crust. One of my favorite potato dishes. Dessert looked 🔥 too. Golden Steer for the win on your Vegas adventure!
We wish we would’ve thought to try the bread in that butter! That would’ve been amazing. But you’re absolutely right, there’s nothing like an authentic historic steakhouse vibe. If we went back we’d have a hard time not ordering the same things because they were amazing but it’s also tempting to try more of the menu!
I've not been to Vegas in over 30 years. When I was going there twice annually, going to a high end Steakhouse was not a priority. I was there for the lights, gambling, pretty cocktail waitresses and breakfast buffets on the cheap. Three dollars for a Ham Steak, scrambled eggs, hash browns, Toast. Because it is Vegas, nothing wrong with a Bloody Mary or 2 for a beverage. My favorite steakhouse now is The Patio Diner. Locations available wherever you live. Get a store bought bagged salad, favorite dressing, bake a large Yukon Gold Potato, grill a steak to desired preference (medium rare for me). Dress baked potato as desired (I like Sour Cream n Chives). Eat alone. Enjoy. Heaven on Earth at The Patio Diner. Twenty Dollars.
"Chez Paul" in Olowalu, the oldest French restaurant in on Maui was my go to place for a grand dining experience. It was built out of an old gas station by the side of the road. You wouldn't know it was there unless you knew where it was. It's long gone now. Those were the days my friends.🌴
I've been to Vegas a few times, but never here. This is totally on my radar now, and I think it's time to cash in some of my frequent flyer miles! I love the history, and the ambiance. Thanks for another great review!
Hello from Oregon, enjoying the videos. Heading to Texas next month. However, we are also heading to Vegas next June for a birthday party following a friends and family trip. Thank you for the video, NEW SUB!!
I was a student at UNLV in the early 80's , my dad took me there when he came to visit. I went there about 6 months ago. Still looks the same , a lot more expensive now though.
I hope you're doing well! I've heard that getting a reservation at the Golden Steer can be quite challenging, and I’m really eager to experience it. If you have any advice or strategies that might help, I would greatly appreciate your insights. Thank you in advance for your help!
I really like an old school steak house . The history adds to the ambiance. Reminds me of Old Homestead and Sparks in New York . Enjoyed the video #wulffdendad
That's just sad how much they charge for that food. $21/person for a caesar salad! I make that same salad at home 3-4 times a week for about $1.50/person. Do they even add anchovies or anchovy paste? $14.00 for 1/2 of a twice baked potato 🤣
Aye in the bar 2 years ago…could not get a table in the dining room. (Booked well in advance). Not the same experience at all. Table by the door to the restrooms. Guy vomiting 1/2 way thru our meal. Shrimp cocktail….rubbery and sauce was just ketchup. If you order Caesar salad in the bar…it is NOT tableside and our seemed like it was dressed at least an hour before we got there. Steaks were passable, but that was it. Overall….it was probably the worst steakhouse experience we’ve ever had. Even if we had not expected so much given the restaurant’s history we’d still have been disappointed. The old sizzler was better. Maybe someday we will go again but there are sooooo many great steakhouses to return to first!
there's a lot of issues with the history presented by the restaurant including but not limited to: 1. The restaurant didn't exist in 1958, this is an intentional lie to make it seem likely that the "Rat Pack" visited regularly 2. DiMaggio and Monroe were not together when the restaurant opened, and it is virtually impossible they'd be seen together here post-divorce. 3. The oldest steakhouse in Vegas is Bob Taylor's Original Ranch House 4. The lie the restaurant tells is that the Rat Pack met here due to the Strip being segregated...which is also incorrect as the Strip was desegregated in 1960, two years before this restaurant actually opened. It is strange to me that a place with real bona fide history would prefer to discredit themselves by lying about so much. I've listed only a few here.
Thanks for sharing all of this information! I can’t believe we didn’t find any of it in our research. We would love to read more if you have any links to articles on it!

Dining at Golden Steer is like savoring a piece of Las Vegas history-truly legendary
Couldn’t agree more!
Love your videos. Keep at it and I'm sure your subscriber count will blossom.
Thank you!!
Everytime I'm in Vegas I eat here once. You chose all the right things.
Love your Las Vegas series so far because you guys have hit all the good spots - not just the newer hype locations but also this old-school steakhouse that the locals love. I'm shocked at the prices though...but seems worth it!
Glad you’re enjoying it! We just wish we could’ve tried more. Up next is a cheaper option that we think holds up to all these iconic spots!
I’ve lived in Vegas since 1977 and can honestly say the Golden Steer has not changed one bit. It has always been top notch. One caveat though, bring money because it ain’t cheap.
Wow! This might be the best videography I have ever seen in one of these videos. Really pops!
Thanks so much!

We’ll definitely need to try Michael’s if you like it even more than here! Yes, we walked but the parking lot was very small and for a few other businesses as well. Thanks for watching!
Thanks awesome! We got our reservation due to a last minute cancellation too and we’re so glad we did!
Thank you for the great review. I feel like getting on plane and going to Golden Steer. I can't wait for the next one!
I'd recommend Bavettes in ParkMGM, Carversteak in ResortsWorld, SW Steakhouse at the Wynn
It was amazing! Definitely worth checking out if you’re ever in Vegas. Of those we’ve only been to SW and did prefer the steak a bit more there but this experience was really something special
40 years ago, when I first went to the Golden Steer it was as it is, simply the best.
This one is on my bucket list. Definitely would do the NY strip. Can’t get enough of steakhouse videos. 🥩
It’s a must try! Haha then it’s a good thing we can’t eat enough of it!
ate there in early 80's. looks just as it did back then :)
Couple goals! Lovely video. ❤ from Portugal
Thanks so much!

I would agree. Great meal!!!
A fav, I make reservations before flying in🤗
Reservations are hard to come by these days! We were lucky to get a last minute cancellation
Thanks! Wow that’s awesome, our waiter was telling us it’s changed very little over the years which is amazing because it still really holds up!

@ryangies4798. You are so right about Vegas not preserving its history. 😢
Perfectly executed!!!
Thanks!
I've been to GS several times. Back before cell phones, real phones were placed at almost every table. Mob guys were everywhere
That's amazing! We would have loved to see it back then but glad it hasn't changed too much

My absolute favorite here. Bananas Foster is off the hook.
Yes!!! We regret not trying the cherries flambé too
Great video TY!
Thank you!!
I'm from NYC and I think Golden Steer is better than anything in NYC.
I have a reservation for next month! Can't wait
That’s so exciting! Have a great time!

The only throw back it is missing is the overwhelming thick cloud of cigar and cigarette smoke.

It’s very similar to those! But the food and service at Golden Steer are hard to match
Golden Steer rocks! Next time try their filet mignon, it's one of the best I've ever had.
It really does! There's so much we have to go back and try!
Great review. Would love to know what the bill was.
Thanks! It looks like it came to $230 after tax and tip
Expensive , but what the heck. Gotta enjoy yourself. Looked great
Haha yeah, we all need to treat ourselves every now and again and this place was worth it!
I don't know what the salad is, but it's not a Caesar Salad. Where's the bacon, and you definitely don't add Tabasco sauce or that other sauce.
There's no bacon in a traditional Caesar salad. Lea & Perrins is the brand name of the worchestshire sauce. 😂
How did you get a reservation? I tried and everything is always booked solid.
Sign up for OpenTable notifications for every day of your trip and make sure to act quick if you get one!
I would try some of the butter on the stake on the bread.
That’s such a good idea!
This restaurant looks amazing.Would love to indulge..
Would highly recommend!
Thanks 🙎🏻♂️Mr and 🙍♀️Mrs Wao!!!
Another nice food experience 👌🏼
Wow! This comment is so good!
Great
Those prices are just ridiculous! I could buy 2 weeks groceries for what you paid for that meal.
Nice🎉
How do you go here and NOT Get a Lobster Tail? They are WORLD FAMOUS
Yes, the lobster tails are amazing...and huge.
a bike ride trip to Red Rock? Best place to bet sports for comps?
WOW 😂😂😂😂
That's just sad how much they charge for that food. $21/person for a caesar salad! I make that same salad at home 3-4 times a week for about $1.50/person. Do they even add anchovies or anchovy paste? $14.00 for 1/2 of a twice baked potato 🤣
That is not how you make an emulsion for the Caesar dressing. That was oil and cheese at best. Server should be canned for that.
I think Bob Taylor steak house is the oldest here in Vegas. The mob and other celebrities would eat there as well
How much was your bill
It came to $195 before tip!
Whooooooooooooaaa super Delish ❤!!!!
The butter is old fashioned.
Banana Fosters flambé?

That’s such a shame! The steak wasn’t one of the best we’ve had but everything else was incredible. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Your SW review I totally agree with! Amazing place. Vegas has so many stellar Steakhouses!!! Now I’m hungry. Keep up the great reviews!
Thanks! Yeah SW was amazing. It would take months to try all the steakhouses in Vegas but we're up for the challenge

@@gregkrech8393 I will eventually, but I've got a few other Steakhouses to visit first.
HOLY CRAP ITS ADAM SANDLER
Forgive me for commenting - is that the biggest diamond ever? :)
How do you tell a steak is "nice and marbled" AFTER it is cooked? Don't get me wrong the steak looks delicious.
Oh muy godness
After a hard night at the Golden Steer she unleashed the stinky rear 😅
Супер!
Kristen and Will must work out like a maniacs to keep their weight down.
Place is expensive 150 dollars a person
You know you’re being filmed and you can’t manage to take a reasonable mouthful without food falling out of your mouth?
I'm not paying those prices
98 bucks for steak thats hard to cut, only in US
Hello my friends
I will never order a steak there ever again. I make a much better steak than that myself at home.
I think the red leather seats amaze me the most, but looks delish.
Amazing restaurant but please my good man. Wear something more appropriate!!
Adam Sandler-thats high quality h20....//. sorry,i couldn't resist..

Golden Steer is a tourist trap with crap steaks...
It looks old.
Stupid prices for stupid people. You can cook the same thing at home with a little skill.
