Thanks! This helped me a lot. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. While watching your video, I disassembled my trigger assembly. Found the problem almost immediately. I had a broken hammer strut. I replaced the strut and reassembled while watching this video. I really do appreciate your hard work making this. Thank you 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You're welcome, it makes me really happy you were able to find and repair the problem with the help of the video. It's a big part of why I do my channel at all. Thank you and have a good day.
Took a few apart. They were super-simple to work on. Not the best design, but then it works and it's an aluminum housing vs. the plastic crap that comes on most if not all the guns these days.
I've definitely taken worse trigger groups apart. All and all it's a good design when all things are considered. Really something that can be said about the Model 20 overall I guess.
Great video. I had no issue taking mine apart, cleaned her up really good, jeweled the bolt and carriage, but something got all janky going back together. Would not cycle and the hammer wouldn't drop. This video showed the spring on the bolt release straight, but mine had gotten bent. A little gentle bending and bingo!! Thanks.
Awesome, I'm really glad that you got it straightened out figuratively and literally. Sounds like a really nice example of the Mdl 20. Thanks for watching.
@@yetshi That's also a very good tip and is appreciated. At the moment I'm going to have to make a major repair to my Mdl 20 before it's in working order again.
You could try a chemical solvent, although I'd probably first use hot soapy water and a toothbrush, but it if it's really gunked up or the oil has vanished to the parts that may not be enough to make work smoothly. It could dislodge other debris and move it further into the trigger group but I don't think that's a major concern. Hopefully that helps.
After looking over the receiver I couldn't see anything that would fall out without removing something else first. Without being able to see the spring it's a little hard for me to say where it came from. I went into the video and at the 13minute 11 second mark all of the springs and parts are visible on screen. Do you see it there?
@@Alloy211 I checked and all parts matched accept for the one wire spring. My 12ga is actually a Sears Roebuck and Co Model 20, don't think there should be anything different how can i send you a picture of the part?

You can push the hammer spring in with a set of needle nose pliers to take the tension off the rear pin
Thanks for the advice and thanks for watching.
@@Alloy211 if the hammer strike gets weak you can add washers behind the pin to increase the spring pressure.

I'm really glad I rescued my from the pawn shop. Hopefully if you need it to be helpful at some point it is. Lol thanks for watching.
Greatly appreciated video!!
I hope it's helpful if nothing else. Thanks for the suggestion.
hello Question ...could you use De greaser and air to clean it out without having to take it all apart or Brake cleaner?

Had an extra wire spring when I was finished. Not sure when it came out but the trigger seems to be working great. Any ideas?
Is it possibly the long spring in the top edge of the pump/action release lever?
@@Alloy211 checked and both wires are in the release lever
Could it have been from the bolt or other parts to the gun?
I'll have to take a closer look at the action again tonight. I can't think of anything off hand but I'll get back to you.
