This isn't quite the full story. In this example I don't think the clips being loaded are set up to use streaming, they are being loaded into memory. In this scenario you get the re-saving once as demonstrated. If you have clips enabled for streaming then the re-save happens every time you hit quick save which is much more annoying if you have a large project.
I actually dont understand, I have a project with large recordings with disk stream enabled, and everytime I do save takes an eternity. So this "very quick saving" only works if you have disk stremming disabled?
How do I tell the Force to stream and not load into memory? I've recorded samples but in the project list they only show when Memory is active, not Stream. Thanks for so much great content. 🤙🏽😉
The easiest way; load all audio content to audio tracks first before using; this makes them automatically convert to streaming. You can remove or move them to other tracks e.g. drum tracks, and memory will stay low (and load quick!). If it already exists, go to project and press-hold to disk stream, turn off the memory tab and save. This project should only stream from now on. But use Audio track clips first, and you'll not have to worry about memory. Hope it helps! 👍🏾

what if you made a Keygroup with a lot of samples with 4 layers and you wanna put that on disk stream , example 50 samples can jou select multiple samples instead 1 of the time to speed up your workflow I can't find it anywhere ,many you know ?? thanks in advance
Lots of short samples will have a good chance of causing havoc with disk stream, can't see a good reason to use it in a keygroup though? I would only use it for long samples, or some stuff under a drum program e.g. backing vocals
@@Ancaja123 for old projects created pre 3.1 its 'off' for content already in the project. You can switch this via the project screen. For new projects created on 3.1 by default its 'on' for clips, and 'off' for keygroups/drums.
Nah, but means you can load or change audio without using up memory; great for creating quick change backing tracks, in a single project, as an example.
@@nicethings nah, it's not there... scratch disk is not in the 2gb ram, its disk. The low temp area warning comes up on an empty project. I think its because the primary drive is pretty full, so i need to switch it to ssd... i think😶
Personally, I'd go with a SSD. I use Crucial MX500 1tb, but any other will be fine. I didn't fancy having a bunch of SD cards with the chance of losing em.
The force is real beast now. So much more than it was at launch. Installed my SSD the other day. Annoying that the force can't detect and format exfat for you. and you have to connect to pc to do it.
@@didonikolov7183 Yes it is 8. If you try to add more than 8 audio tracks you will get a message "The maximum number of audio tracks has been reached. The operation was not successful." That's on the latest 3.1.1 firmware.
8 tracks is pretty good if you're using stems and processed loops which is the way i would use this machine. Still not 100% convinced that using this or Ableton and some controllers. It would depend on how you play live.
@@nicethings why should i save on external space and not the akai space ? I thought there was a couple of gig for saving ? Obviously that won't last long but I haven't got a ssd yet.

Appreciate the observation, I’ve reported this as a concern.let’s see what happens…

That said, I rarely use keygroups, don't really see the point when a drum program can go way beyond anything else I've come across.
Thanks bro bro, can you show an example of the disk streaming?
Nothing to really; it just means you won’t see “out of memory. Please delete audio samples to continue…” or something like that.
@@nicethings So it is "always on" then right? works on all audio?
Thanks.

@nicethings Yeah I've lost interest in this thing, I'll stuck with Bitwig until an actual true hardware DAW is invented.
Thanks you 😉🙌
Do you know how to change the scratch disk? I am getting the message temporary area low memory....
It's in MENU, under Project defaults, I think. That said, you try PURGE to free up space.

This maybe different now, think it reads exFat
I think it just gets maximum performance whilst in use at the expense of save time.
Less glitches.. more peachy smoothness 😜
Wussup bro👊🏾, I was wondering about the audio clips. I know it’s limited to 8. Does this update expand it to more than 8?
If you mean audio tracks then no, its still 8 audio tracks.
It's not 8 if you click on mixer you can ad more just swiped to the left and you will see +

Whatever you do, don't do that. Unless you want to brick your device! Also, save on external or internal SSD/HD and not the Akai space.
