When Tim Burton saw the original '9' short, he said it felt like it had a sense of weight, which is lacking in a lot of CGI animation. Despite it being CGI, it felt very much like stop motion to him. I can't help but imagine he saw THIS movie once upon a time, and that contributed to his feelings about '9'.
Thank you for this! I remember watching this in my university days and was completely enamoured by the quality of the animation and brilliance of the story! You should share a little video talking about your experience making it and some of the elements of the story! Well done!
Oh man, Tim. Thanks for posting this. I was crazy about these two shorts back when they were only on Atomfilms and I was becoming an animator! You rule.
This is wonderful! I had an old VHS with The Potato Hunter and always loved it, so it's delightful to see this film now! The poses, the slapstick timing, the overall pacing are all magnificent. Thanks a ton for uploading it!

I'm serious when I say that words cannot express how much I love this film and its 'prequel'...
An amazing short film that really stuck with me. The atmosphere that is conveyed through the makeshift desert scenery is fantastic.
saw a still from this in a stopmotion book by Suzannah Shaw years ago and always wanted to see it!! beautiful character
This is brilliant. Stop-motion is one of my favourite visual mediums. The grey man is so expressive.
I can't believe this has so few views. This is a phenomenal work of art. I remember watching it on atomfilms probably about 12 years ago or so.
Great work Tim!!! Lance
Tim I have been wanting to see this film for ages. I'm so glad you posted it on RUclips!!!
