It is a private company so they reserve the right to remove people they feel harm society but their product in on the internet which is how people communicate and get their information from. Controlling views or positions you don’t agree with is very concerning. I personally don’t know how you would fix it without crazy control or complete freedom. It’s crazy interesting to think about.
As long as a platform is in private hands, I don't think there is a way to restrict their rights to remove content they don't agree with from their own platform and there is no way to force companies to provide a platform to anyone. And as long as they are depended on ad revenue, it isn't even fair to demand that they just allow anything. Yes, freedom of speech is important but so is freedom of association. No one can be forced to be associated with you and I can understand why certain advertisers don't want certain associations, don't want to see their product pop up next to the speech of a certain people. (Yes, I'm aware that this reasoning is currently being abused by companies, as uncomfortable speech gets removed while harmful speech can remain, simply because of the views of the owner of the platform but abandoning this rule of freedom of association completely and say they can't do this, would also kill interest from advertisers and eventually the platform). So the only way that I believe that you can have a social media platform without restrictions put in place by private institutions, would be creating some sort communal service for it, owned by a government or to get closer to the reach we currently have with social media, a coallition of governments, were each only has juridisdiction for their own citizen. The rules would then be in-line with the laws of the land you are living and this is "policed" by law enforcement of said country. But this would also mean that you have to have the tax payer pay for it, have a government that controls it and there are also some privacy concerns... It is indeed a hard debate and one where we would have to make choices...
@The Ghey Mantis I doubt this would yield any positive results to be honest or if it could even be considered legal and just. How can you even compare a social media platform with newspapers or magazines? Yes, I'm familiar with the "they have become editors by banning people" rhetoric but I doubt that would really fly in any court setting, solely because the many differences that still remain between newspapers and magazines and social media... With newspapers and magazines, everything that they publish are written by employees for the company. Therefore the company can be considered responsible for what their employees publish. Social media platforms has users, users over whom they have no real control, no control at all. And you would to make them accountable for what users publish? Terrible idea and somewhat luckily almost impossible to implement asthe moment they are given that unreasonable responsibility, they would have to take this control aka they would just be stricter: everything posted on social media will be looked at by some sort of moderator/editor, who decides what is published and what not. Anything that might cause problems will be immediately blocked. It would also increase the cost of social media (all the extra people that have to be employed to check everything before it can be published), making it hard keep it a free service. And they would also have to take into consideration the laws of each country they operate in, which in turn would restrict what can be watched where as freedom of speech isn't absolute in many countries. Social media as we now know it would be dead and the thing we get in instead would be far worse than the current version. And stopping to ban people would only make matters worse as now everyone can sue them for defamating remarks, including those they would now ban. The moment one side of political spectrum stops suing, the other would start... Every opinion that could be taken as defamation will still result in a lawsuit. And also, not unimportant, there isn't a social media giant who would give up power, especially not when they actually can get more power by doing something else.
@The Ghey Mantis Wait, if there are social media platforms that allow people to say whatever they want, what is the problem with those that don't allow this... Wouldn't it be easier to simply use those who allow it and ignore those who don't? As for the continued existence of those real free speech platforms, they only can exist if they can provide their own server as many of the big players who allow platforms to use their servers, can recall this permission (correct me if I'm wrong but companies lend out server space right, they don't sell it...) and likely will if content is posted on these sites that they don't like as they did that with Parler, did they not? But generally speaking, nothing of this will ever come to pass because there is too little interest for just implementation.

2nd*
Yeh cuz watchmojo is first
You weren't even first. Even if you are , you won't be getting any thing . Plus your comment is pointless and child like.
@@Reaperguy67 yes it is pointless because its now dot
#1 right on target 🎯
Instagram’s no nudity policy is stupid.
I didn't know Trump had a snap chat 😂
The next list would include Kangana in number one😂
Where's Kangana Ranaut? 🤡
Well kangana Ranaut's twitter ban is the 2nd gr8test
So many idiots facing consequences for shit they've posted.
I'm not sad for them. Even as a 14-year old, I knew not to say something online that I wouldn't say when face to face with someone.
The celebrities from 10 to 2 banned from social media is one thing, but Trump? Whaaaaat?
It is a matter of shame that in the morning the birds should be awake earlier than you.
It's a matter of shame you don't realize some birds are up at three and nap regularly during the day.
@@availanila it's a matter if shame that you know that and felt compelled to say so
@@animeisforlosers3485 It is a matter of shame that I have no idea whats happening at this point
Wht heck!? No talked about Billie Joe Armstrong greenday lead vocalist. He was also banded by instagram.
It's crazy how social media blew tf up.
This might as well be three random Americans that got banned. I only recognised three of them.
Heard about Kangana Ranaut ??? Twitter Banned her :P WHAT A RELIEF :P
Who?
11:08 You forgot to show the clip where he said to protest "peacefully and patriotically."
Got a feeling Trump will be number 1
Fun fact: No one cares about the celebrity
Fun fact: if that was true celebrities wouldn’t be a thing.
phoebe's arrival turned watchmojo into whatculturemojo
Instagram no
nudity
🤣🤣🤣
I was searching for Kangana Ranaut 😅
