Oh my goodness I can see the shimmer!! Why would they change such an amazing formula
I bought the new 00, 01, 02, and 03. They are all much more shiny and luminescent than the originals. As an oily/mature skin person, they aren't blurring like the old formula. 😢

This used to be my favorite powder, the new formula looks literally like a highlighter compared to the og one 😭 I don't know why brands insist in reformulating their best sellers, they're a best seller for a reason! I still have one with the og formula and I take care of it like a treasure.
I never did buy the Givenchy powder, but it was always on my wish list. Taking it off the wish list now. 😞

It’s the kaolin clay they added that’s making you look like a desiccated vampire. What a shame. I got one of the last OG formula mini sizes to try, just days before I learned they would be reformulating. Now I feel like I need to “save it for a special occasion” which is stupid.
Bummer. Back on the hunt. I also have Hourglass and Charlotte Tilbury and don’t find them to be anything special. I keep hearing Chanel as an alternative and the pricing is similar to the Givenchy anyway so maybe I’ll give it a try.

I managed to buy 2,3,4 powders and one compact powder. In Israel you can still buy the old version.
You all need to try the It cosmetics loose powder, it smooths and blurs. No one talks about it, but it should be talked about! Im 53 and it makes my skin look flawless!!

I love the old version. I’m 52 and it’s one of very few powders that look good on me. Won’t be buying anymore
don't waste your money! Try the Sigma or the Hourglass if you want something not as matte as the One Size or Huda
For once I’m glad I never tried the Givenchy powder 😂 I just placed an order on Moira Cosmetics and they have a powder that looks like the Givenchy. it looks very similar with the multi color quadrants
I think I know why they did this I think they did it to up sales. Hear me out. They’re not stupid if they pulled their best formula I believe they did it to start talk and virality in the make up community now other brands are all going to be releasing new powders so that they can make some money.. I guarantee in a couple of months givinchy is going to release their best formula and say it’s back by popular demand.just think about it from a business standpoint and when it happens, remember this comment

The old powder was fabulous on my dry mature skin. I am so sad. I don’t know what this shiny mess is, but I won’t be buying it. Looks like a highlighter application gone wrong! This is disappointing, but thank you for reviewing this! I guess it’s back to Huda (which I love). I need to try the One size and maybe the Mario one?

Never catch me paying that price on a powder, ever 😭 The Lunar Beauty powder is so nice and I paid under 30€ for it. Also I tried really nice ones from the drug store.
I have two backups of my Lunar Beauty. I use it all over my face except under eyes. I’m 53 and Pat McGrath is only one for my dry and older skin that gives me flawless no creasing. But love Lunar Beauty all over. ❤❤
I do enjoy the Danessa Myricks loose powder , I have the pink shade .
It’s really a shame they ruined a truly great product. The new one can be used as a highlighter or maybe a light finishing powder, but not for setting or under the eyes. I do understand a desire to make products talc free, but maybe brands could do two versions? I may try the Hourglass. I am enjoying the Jones Road, Ami Cole, and Polite Society (and, of course, savoring an old version of the Givenchy).
I was truly hoping Shade 4 was salvageable since they said it was matte compared to the first 3 shades 😢 but this is truly sad. I feel so bittersweet, I was fortunate enough, and I got to buy the original formula, but I am truly sad that its the first and last time I'll be using the givenchy loose powder. I have dry skin, and I really like how I can't feel the original formula on my skin and has this natural skin like yet blurring finish. Truly mourning.
Just FYI I have used the old version for years as my go to and just switched to the Chanel setting powder ( loose) and it's just about the same or as close as I can get. I recommend ❤

Ah dang. Another holy grail demoted to “clean beauty” just because the company doesn’t want to do their due diligence to make sure its asbestos free talc. Hi Heather, I agree with you Givenchy messed up with this new formulation, I say bring back the old formula, I think they will lose a lot of customers and their bottom line for profits will be low, due to the changes to our beloved loose face powder, we will be shopping other brands for our new favourite face powder,not happy GIVENCHY!!!. Have you tried the new benefit power powder it’s a soft matte finish works great for about 8hrs without oils coming through I rarely have to touch up
This makes me so sad! I finally try a hyped product, I fall in love and it’s gone 😭 Story of my life. I do really like the OG Laura Mercier and the Hourglass.
I have never used either, but honestly Heather, it looked like you applied a thick layer of silver powder on your face, while the 'old' side looked velvety matte. I'm vicariously unimpressed.
I have dry skin and actually prefer talc free, talc irritates my skin and dries it out a lot. There are tons of great talc free powders out there, like MUFE which I like.
Nikki la rose recommended the lottie London setting powder as an affordable alternative
Sad it has a limited shade range but 2 plus a pink isn’t too bad
I have a mini of the old version and it has the same all shiny lid so maybe that is a mini feature?
The photos on retailer sites show the change is in the full size as well

They lost their OG status for sure! Why Givenchy! I found on Stylevana they’re still selling old formulation on sale for $50 had to pick up a backup. ❤

It usually takes like 8 days to process and ship my orders out, that’s why I prefer companies in the U.S. but only place I could find Givenchy original 12g I did use PayPal never my direct credit card. Haven’t had a problem so far fingers crossed 🤞
Your under eye looks more wrinkled in the new version too in natural lighting...they screwed it up...😂❤
I actually like the illmakiages loose setting powder or ciate London's loose setting powders...they are so overlooked though
I had a bad customer experience a couple of times with Il Makiage but I will shop my stash and be on the hunt for some others!

This is one of the worst reformulatsion ever. We need the old one back. I love the Huda. I've heard the Danessa Myricks powder is close to the Givenchy powder.

Yes, the Danessa Myricks is very close! I recommend it, it really is a great powder.
One thing to note though - on my dry skin I find it a bit more mattyfying than the Givenchy one. I think I’ll go back to Hourglass in the colder months, and use Danessa in the summer.

Darn shame that they reformulated a great product and made it worse. I only have a mini of the original formula 😿I do have the ones you mentioned. Didn't care for the Hourglass one under my eyes. Huda's is one of my favorite powders. I really love my Jaclyn Hill powder a lot! And sadly that's discontinued too.

Define mature but yes, I’ve seen people with oily skin and fine lines love the Huda. Sigma is less matte though if you don’t want a very matte finish

Thanks for the heads up. Have you tried the Nikkia Joy powder? I've found it the best for my oily/mature skin, and its very blurring. She has also released a brightening pink powder. However that is the drawback, only the 2 shades, but the choice of loose or pressed.

Unfortunately, this is the way things are going to go. More and more companies are going to remove talc because of the lawsuits that have happened. Too many companies have cut corners and not been as stringent as they should be in removing the asbestos from talc, so people are no longer willing to risk the exposure.
I'm so sad they won't just show the proof they don't use asbestos contaminated talc!
