I used to be scared of wearing red eyeshadow, so i would put a light wash on my eyelids. That genuinely did make me look sick! I finally realized if I was going to wear red, I needed to go for it, so it's obvious the red is shadow rather than a rash. Now, if I'm going to wear red, I wear it bright, metallic, in a wing, whatever to make it really obviously makeup.

The books always described Lestat’s eyes as being “violet“ and until now I thought that was a pale purple… But now I think the violet Anne Rice meant is the color of that shadow in the palette!

Also, to wear red what I always tell my friends is “go with it fully, don’t try to make it too subtle because that’s how you might look like you have a pink eye. Just own it”

I may not buy this .. but to your point that red looks good on any one.. I am fair to very fair skinned yt person with cool undertones, blue eyes, chubby body, and dark blonde hair in my 40's... Red is good on the eyes. It isn't my everyday, it's not the "wear to meet your boss for a work meeting" on me, but it looks good. I use deeper reds with burgundy and deep brown most of the time. It's not often monchromatic red.. but it's red. I also used the Cherry Icee Glamlite palette (remember when) and a white liner in the waterline for VDay one year.. very cute.
