You guys are awesome. It’s about time that these crooks meaning car dealers and the people that work for them are bought to justice and teach the consumer how to shop not always be a sucker to get taken for.
A major reason to not buy new is that a number of car manufacturers are relaying your car driving to Insurance Companies (per Fox News today) and raising rates accordingly.
Kevin: Please point our which manufacturers install such equipment so that your viewers can be warned before buying from them.
I don't know how this data collection is even legal on non-commercial use vehicles. Insurance rates should be based solely on one's driving history, such as at-fault accidents and multiple moving violations, the type of vehicle one owns or leases, and whether one pays their premiums before the expiration date. Factors such as one residing in an area where there are high vehicle theft rates or vandalism and/or heavy traffic conditions that inevitably lead to increased numbers of accidents are also factors that can't be avoided with regard to insurance rates. Aside from the aforementioned, nothing else should be permitted to be factored in. Unfortunately, the insurance industry is quite influential in the halls of the state and federal government.

@@Dac54my insurance company told me if I agreed to install their monitoring app on my phone, it would save me up to 15 percent on my insurance. Of course then they have all my usage such listening to a RUclips video in my car, which is forbidden. I told them no way. I suspect most if not all major insurance companies are doing this. Also the manufacturers have apps that tie into your usage and GM subscription services track and monitor usage and driving habits.
I’m planning to order a 2025 Subaru Forester when it comes out. Am binge watching your videos and intend to enroll in one of your plans once the information and prices are available this Spring.

As an employee of a Credit Union here where I live at I pass those suggestions to my members in saving money and also the sales tactics that the dealers try to con them to. Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!
Please do a story on the Consumer Reports buying strategy where you compare similar models such as the RAV4, CR-V and CX-5. Some options are standard and others are not from different manufactures. This adds complexity.

I really, really, really, don't want a new computer and surveillance car. I do have a 40 year old good classic, but I want to buy a second used car. At what year did a Volvo sedan become like an Android phone? Is 12 years pre-computer, or is 14 years old better? Maybe I prefer a golf cart.
I disagree that it’s always good to keep high value, but then I used to live in Virginia which had a personal property tax! But then I do keep cars until I have to pay someone to take it!

I need an SUV with better mileage and that is lower to the ground so I can get in it! They call those minivans but they are scarcer than ever.
I m not short but did have a shoulder injury so couldn’t pull up. In fact the injury happened because of an SUV!
I can get into our F250 with running boards without a step. The problem with a step is that often it’s on a cruise tour I need it! They’re pretty heavy. I can also get in our minivan😇
As for 4 wheel drive, we’ve driven around many SUVs stuck because they seemed to think 4 wheel drive meant they didn’t need to slow down, both on ice and deep snow. I drove an F150, years back, in snow that was severe enough that we put cinder blocks in the bed. Saw a few SUVs doing stupid things that day too. Even the little cars seemed to do better!
Ultimately we need the cargo space of a minivan.
It’s worth noting Pacifica has an AWD version, and I think Toyota may too.
Lucky Lopez recommended not buying a car in 2024.
