Kyoshin have the talent to look even more braindead than the monke, but to be honest the time where i really tought Gryphon were braindead is past behind, Gryphon is a very mediocre hero nowadays. Kyoshin otherwise is a meta creep and stupid strong while extremely low effort, i really don't know how one can even enjoy playing it.
I was rooting for the Gryphon the whole time. Congrats to him! I hate Kyoshin as a character.

Good job on both ends, but I believe the gryphon would’ve benefited hugely if he used his dodge attack during both the kysoshin’s in chain bash mixup and his kick mixup, since it actually punishes the bash with damage as opposed to empty dodging it and gaining nothing on YOUR read and plus, it gives the opponent a reason to stop his chain pressure and feint, which was exactly the position the kyoshin put the gryphon at, which was making him stop his chain pressure to anticipate a dodge attack while the kyoshin was making him guess whether he was or not(empty dodge). Kyoshin was a bit predictable on the dodge attacks, but it’s understandable why he kept doing it( to maintain his sovereign over the guessing game and dodge multiple options while doing it). If you read a bash followup, but get met with an undodgeable, might as well dodge attack since you’re eating the same damage in both instances. There’s no reason to empty dodge. Dodge attack and you prevent a feint to guard break and the bash followup. The worst that happens is that you get baited and eat 15 damage, but then you can establish that guessing game. Just my thoughts. Gryphon is very good without it though, props to him. Perhaps it’s his play style, and if it works, it works, I’m no gryphon main.
I agree. Plus another thing that I think would've given gryphon even more of an advantage was to use his forward dodge heavy after a light parry. It might be slightly less damage but you maintain kick pressure, which is far superior imo

I kinda wish they kept gryphons bash like tiandis, they way it is now just feels stiff. Could’ve just made the following up always come from the top and it would be hard to react to but still somewhat easy to punish if you know what you’re doing

What I learned with fighting against kyoshin.. is when he is spinning he’s sword around and your waiting to block that hit when he swings.. just grapple him at that right moment.. hope that helps!
You have to be careful though because they can reaction light to gb.

Kyoshin seems to be in old gen so probably he was anticipating, but the Gryphon plays next gen so probably he was more reacting than reading

@@jasonorlando8723 ok, the difference is quite bigger, the change came with the ccu that make in simple words 100 ms “faster” every attack in the game by hidding 100 ms of hit indicator and animations. Making almost impossible to react properly to most faster attack like before due now to the low frame rate and input lag. But when new gen came made that “unreactable” attacks “reactable” again in some way to say the least, so someone to play in next gen always will have the advantage against someone in old gen in every aspect.

I think this has to be the most intense mind games the Kyoshin ever faced. There was more risk on the Gryphon side though, you can't punish Kyoshin if he missed any of his bashes and that sucks. But I was team Gryphon all the way baby 💪💪💪

I think gryphon needs a buff like the heavy after kick feels weak and the shove feels unuseable plus his dodge heavies feel really trashy now i also feel like his heavies are unuseable and to slow and his hyper armor is to slow

This just proves that gryphon is a bad character and need some quality of life changes (Rep 63 here) and getting him there was NOT FUN , the only thing he really has going for him are his feats.
If they ever do give him buffs I do NOT want raider/orochi/or shinobi treatment, all he needs are quality of life changes
They should increse the top neutral heavy to 27(so also after kick), reduce the window for grabbing after a missed kick, let him have an enhanced light and a better hyper armor on finisher heavy and one also on forward dodge heavy, then MAYBE even undodgeable zone for when he actives revenge but that's not obligatory like the rest

P. S. Do we realize that the 2nd undodgeable light of Kyoshin is 16 (he also has an heavy undodgeable of 30 from every side) and the 3rd of Gryphon is 14 (it's is only undodgeable)? I mean YO wtf are these numbers? raise gryph's one to 16 or 17
It's because Kyoshin has two hit chain. Gryphon has 3 unless he skips by landing a double light. Also, you're more likely to dodge against gryphon because of the kick damage, you aren't gonna be getting hit by kyoshin's finisher light as often.

And besides, BP has a 2 hit combo and his light finisher has no properties and hs 14 damage output (wich is the standard for a finisher light with no property) so no, the gryphon shoul3 get a 17 dmg out of that light or kyoshin shouldn't have 16 ;)
@@atynniehawke9341 Bp also has the safest offense in the entire game, so there's no real point there. Kyoshin has the undodgeable light because it catches people waiting for orange, which the heavy won't do.

As a rep 70 gryphon seeing this gryphon fight and all these ppl in the comments cheering for him gives me hope for the hero. I still get lots of hate mail at least once or more every week or so for simply using him let alone winning 🤦🏿♂️ and 90% of said ppl in my inbox are using kyoshin orochi or raider lol

Gryphon doesn't throw him to the ground because his gb to heavy is a solid 50/50. He can maximize his damage that way if he guesses what his opponent would do rather than throw him to the ground
To the ground after stamina he has a 38 guaranteed, and a light blockable only so already to finisher
@@atynniehawke9341 You could go either way. I'm just saying to gamble and maximize your damage, its gb to heavy mix up when they are OS is a solid option
@@Meltdownlv100 if you are 1 v1 one and you have stamina trust me, grab and throw then undodgeable light followed by neutral top heavy and 2nd light on each side you prefere and you're already on the finisher once again, with a 38 of damage guaranteed, I've been treated this way too many times to not know it now
@@atynniehawke9341 what you're saying is confirmed 38 damage but not a confirmed mix up at the end since the light after neutral heavy is reactable. I'm sure you're aware but by the time the opponent recovers from your OS throw, they would already by at full stam or close to it and that light is easily parryable. The reason why gb to heavy is so effective is because if you guess correct you can get another gb to heavy or just throw them on the ground for the max punish. You have more potential of damage if you get a proper read.

That's the problem with for honor. Kids like to complain about a hero being to strong other than the hero they play. There's a few heros that are to strong but noo let's nerf gryphon to the ground. For honor has become so bad

I’m main conqueror since season 2 or so, but i like more the first one, the second is just awful

Hi guys, do you know by any chance where I can look for numbers of for honor feats? For example, to find for how much gryphon heal with his second feat etc.
There is a for honor spreadsheet dedicated to all of that and more, even things like optimal perk builds, feat selection, character meta, etc. I think it's called For Honor Information Hub

i play way more kyoshin than gryphon and i personally think that they are both solid in attack and defense but maybe minor quality of life changes to gryphon so he’ll be a bit better
