Thanks for taking the time to put this out there. For the larger of the two options, the associate can keep the front panel open, go in & out to load and finally, once complete inset the front panel from top down keeping the two ends inside of the rest of the box. We're currently shipping 5-6 per week and I agree with you they are super useful. Additionally, I put 4 mil plastic over the top and have 4-6 inches hanging down each edge. I then shrink wrap the entire cardboard assembly which will help keep the assembly dry when it is exposed to inclement weather. 😊
Thanks for the video. Great tips. How do you know the freight shipment created will apply the FB flat rate? What’s specific number of FedEx to talk and get the best information about the shipment and rate?
Can I use this for moving across the country? I'm not moving any furniture and I have less than one bedroom worth of stuff. I thought I'd just ship boxes via FedEx or UPS. Then I came across this video.
I am moving from SC to WA and am trying to figure out how to load my things that wont be traveling on a plane with me. This seems like a great option but finding out how it works online has been so tough.
Hey! I’m moving from SC to AZ and I just got my box today! Start by setting up a FedEx business account and then you’ll have to talk to someone over the phone so they can send you a complimentary box. I got mine 7 days after speaking with a representative.
@@TheTallMomma How did it work out? Moving from Orlando to Vegas later this year and because Amtrak ceased their shipping, this seems to be the most cost-effective way.
@@judah6152it ended up being about $800 and I got the box that was 48 x 40 x 38. It was around 400 lbs maybe. But I was able to fit a lot of my belongings in it.
Do you have to be a business owner to do this? I'm moving from Cincinnati to California and need a cheap way to get my things from one resident's to another. I've been also looking into trying to find if anyone is planning on driving to California and asking them if they could be willing to help, it's been hard trying to find an affordable solution.
Thanks a lot for this video! Couple of questions I was hoping you might be able to answer- 1. is it advisable to dump stuffs (objects like clothing, small household items) directly into the fedex box instead of using smaller boxes/crates to pack them individually first? 2. instead of the holders that you used at the end, what are your thoughts on using just tape? Thanks!
It seems strong enough to hold that kind of thing. And while you could use just tape ... why not use what they give you, It definitely holds it on better than tape. I think the holders help give it all some rigidity.
Adding a reply in case anyone is interested. I found the entire process to be a giant pain in the ass. Also they charge a lift gate fee on both ends that was almost like $400 additional if I remember correctly. So it's nowhere near as affordable, it's a pain, and no one was familiar with the product. I ended up just shipping using a discounted shipper.
@@joshuakrilov4042I agree 100 percent the lift gate fees and residential is where they trick you. Like you said $400 plus. What freight carrier are you using now?
How long did Fedex take to send you the flat rate box and was it required that you were a business account to receive it? Did the items you shipped need to be classified? Did you ship to a business address or do you think Fedex would deliver one to a residential address? Thanks a ton, first video I've seen on this.
It took my fedex rep a few days to get the account set up. It’s a separate account from fedex ground/express and a separate account from fedex freight. Once he set up the account it took 3-4 days to get the boxes. The goods do not need to be classified. I shipped to a business address. But they would ship to residential, there would just be a life gate charge. I had a lift gate charge for pickup and it was $162.
@@buffalobottlecraft2577 I got the boxes and packed them up. I'm having trouble creating a label, nothing really points me in the direction of creating a label for the flat rate box. Did you create the label by speaking to a representative on the phone? Or did you use something like the LTL 3, 2, or 1 day shipping label form. Thanks again.
@@holdenpham1111 I used LTLSelect.com. It's a FedEx company/service. That's what my rep told me to use and it was pretty straightforward to set up. When you sign up, use your new FedEx Freightbox Account number. Then click Book Shipment, enter all the details, and there should be the option to choose either the small or the large Freight Box. When you complete it you should be able to print out a BoL and label. Once I finalized the shipment the FedEx truck was at my door 20 minutes later. I asked the driver and he said it just popped up in his daily pickups and he happened to be down the street.

I successfully did this. They accidentally charged me a non rate flat box and was $1500. But I got it fixed and the flat rate was way way way cheaper. Still looking for a better alternative, but this one is good. I just hate the liftgate charges.
