Clark Griswold was always the most realistic dad in movie history. just remember folks if you have a dad at home, he is also hanging on to his sanity by his fingertips. please stop dancing on those fingertips.
Someone probably already typed this, but the reason his fingers were so sticky in the bedroom scene was because of the sap from the tree.
Christmas is a special time of year when families come together to remember why they don't want to be around each other the rest of the year.
There is an abundance of those trees here . They are planted on farms every year. Actually, there is more forestation now than there ever has been.
In that scene in the bed, his fingers were sticking to everything because of all the sap from the christmas tree.
It is tons of money to maintain a pool, but it is a kind of status symbol.
Sticky fingers because of the tree sap! This is the best Xmas movie of all time.. it’s almost a religion in our house to watch every Christmas 😂
I always piss myself laughing and forget who I am for half hour watching this 🤣🤣
Because with a real tree 🎄 you get the sweet smell of Christmas..... all through the house 😉

Definitely a must watch every Christmas season for me, mostly watch it on Christmas Eve but already watched it a couple of times this December as been on the Movie channel a few times. 🎅🏻🎄 x

Love this movie , it came out 5 years after Romancing the Stone 1984 directed by Robert Zemeckis (the same guy that made Back to the Future) and it took place in Colombia

We actually have Christmas tree farms here in the US. They replant the trees every year. I don't have real trees either but it's because I'm allergic to them.
Tree Sap. That's why he's so sticky.

His fingers are sticky from the tree sap. Rusty grows up to be Leonard from The Big Bang Theory. I don't really celebrate Christmas anymore either. But we used to use a fake tree. The real trees are usually from a tree farm and they are replaced when they get cut down. The cat under the chair is still my favorite scenes. I still crack up laughing thirty years later.
See, you gotta watch this movie from the perspective of the times. In the 80's & 90's, having a pool was a major symbol of social status. Pools and boats. That's why there's so many 80's movies that feature the beach and chillin poolside with all the heavy sunblock and bright florescent colors. 😎🏖🏄♂️⛵
1. When Clark delivers the present to his boss his boss calls him greaseball. 🤣
2. GOOF: The lights outside the attic window don't match the pattern with the rest of the house.
3. My favorite part is when Ellen pulls the chain on the trap door. 🤣🤣
4. Mae Questel played Aunt Bethany. She was the original Betty Boop and Olive Oyl,
This was her last gig.
5. In the big rant scene the other actors had Chevy's lines written on placards so he
wouldn't get his lines out of order.
6. Living next door to them must be kind of like living next door to the Bundys.
7. Fun fact; Chase actually hurt his hand karate chopping the reindeer.
8. Clark's going to need that 20% bonus to pay for house repairs.
9. This IS my Christmas movie every year
10. Fun fact: This is the only Vacation where Audrey is older than Rusty.

Having a real tree adds to the Christmas experience. I love the smell of a real tree.
It's always fun to watch movies with you. I'm pleased you were able to post after the evil Warner Bros. shut you down. I was looking forward to your reactions to this movie for a long time. So many things in this movie happened to my family to some degree over the years. It's so relatable. Merry Christmas.
When they make their house look like a Las Vegas joint, they're gonna end up with a big fat electric bill.
My family went out and :"found" a live tree. We had a 1950's tree from the grandparents which was silver and made of metal. Plastic tree from K-MART was the way to go.

And Clark’s rant after not getting his bonus? Arguably equal to Steve Martin’s f-bomb rant in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. (Another movie that deserves a reaction from you by the way)
The older man who loses his wig at the end was an actor named William Hickey. You'll be surprised to know that he was only 61 when he made this movie. He just looked a lot older due to his smoking.
Also the other relative who gave the Pledge of Allegiance at the dinner was Mae Questel. She was the voice of Betty Boop and Olive Oyl in the 1930's cartoons. She was also an artist, impersonator and a vaudvillian actor.

You need to watch the first movie in the vacation series just called “Vacation”. Classic
Nothing beats a real Christmas tree. However, it's a pain after a while. You have to water it regularly. After Christmas, you have to dispose of it and needles fall on the floor everywhere. A fake Christmas tree is less hassle and cheaper in the long run (since you can use it every year).
Not all people in the US put up real trees on Christmas. Most I know use the same fake tree every year. The 3 must watch Christmas movies are Christmas Vacation, Die Hard, and Die Hard 2. If you are looking for other good Chevy Chase movies Caddyshack and Fletch are pretty good. Btw, I haven't put up any Christmas decorations in several years either. If I want to see a ton of decorations, I go to my parents house.
Pools are pretty normal. We always had one growing up and we definitely were not rich. It's great in the summer, cooking out, the family is all there, jump in the pool to cool off. Good times!
You don't put the gifts under the tree until Christmas morning! :)

It's just not Christmas without watching Christmas Vacation. I was 11 when this movie came out and me, my wife and my friends probably quote this movie pretty frequently. Every once in a while I ask my wife to check our shitters.
Try to watch all these national lampoon movies,they are great!

All I can say is great reaction and if anyone goes to block or copyright this video. May they be visited by Krampus this year If you have not. Seen Krampus 2015 yet I highly recommend it but you don't want him coming to visit you. Trust me on that he's not called the shadow of Saint Nicholas for nothing.
