This is such a well shot video. Very clear in everything it shows. Funnily enough I specifically wanted to see how those lowest fairing parts come off and that's the one thing not covered here. I'll just give it shot, I had it off two years ago. Should come back to me.
If your bike is the same generation as mine, here is what the service manual shows for the "under cowl" removal: -remove the middle cowls as I show in the video first -release the overflow and vent hoses connected to the under cowl (left side) -remove five bolts; 3 on left side and 2 on right side Hope that helps! Thanks for the kind comment.
So far I am one minute in, and loving the content already. Have a 2013 cbr 500r that’s been sitting for about 3 years or so. Trying to get it running again now. Using your video to help get the gas tank off to clean it. Thank you. I’ll edit this comment when I get some progress made! Thank you so much! Edit: 1 hour in and I got everything off besides the tank. Going to figure that part out next. Appreciate it again.
I'm glad to hear the video has been helpful for you! I didn't remove the tank in the video because I didn't have the tool to disconnect the fuel line. The tank was full of fuel anyway, so it would have been a pain. 3 years is a long time to sit, but it's a Honda so I bet it will be fine once you replace all the fluids and put a new battery in it. I just got home from taking my 500r for a relaxing ride through the hills. Have fun and let me know how it goes! -David
@@EndlessMoneyPits Yeah man. Super helpful. And no worries, you explained it enough that I was able to get it done and removed completely. Just need to figure out the correct way to clean this rust out (not a lot but there’s enough). I’ll definitely leave an update when I get it going again :). Ride safe brother!
@@mnjlittle7547 Hey man, glad to hear you were able to get it all done. I am trying to replace my fuel pump for my 2014 cbr500. Was it hard to remove the whole fuel tank? Also did you need a special tool to remove the fuel line as EndlessMoneyPits referes to in the reply above?
could you show me how to remove the fuel line hose from the tank since video does not show that? I am having the picture but I do not know how to show it to you. Thanks.
for 2013 honda cbr 500r would you happen to know the size of hexa socket to open the cap not the cover for right crankcase? I used 17 mm hexa socket but it still abit loose. Thanks for your help.
Wild guess as i cant remember what connects to the tank and what doesnt but...is it possible to raise the tank without removing the main fairings and just the trim panels? Also, do you have issues putting on the fairing with the frame sliders? I know the body work is a touch different on 19 and the above questions may vary slightly but the general jist and idea is the same. I also need a bit of rubber for my left panel to squish between the fairing and the frame slider as they make contact 🤦♂️
On my 2016 model you wouldn't need to remove the right side fairing but there is an electrical connection behind the left fairing that needs to be disconnected to raise the tank. I looked for a way to avoid removing the left fairing but it was necessary. My frame sliders do not get in the way at all. I don't think it would be an issue with other styles of frame sliders either but can't be 100% sure. Good to hear this mostly applies to your 2019 bike. My service manual only goes to 2018 so I have no idea what changes Honda made beyond that.
At 2:03 I show the screws in the bowl. They are in the same orientation as they fit on the right side fairing (front bolt on the right, upper middle on top, lower middle on bottom, and rear on the left). Looks like the rear and lower bolts are the same but the other two are different sizes.
I do not have a digital version of it and haven't come across one yet. To save some money, I found a used service manual on ebay years ago. I think it was around $40 (well worth it).
Mine just has the 6 bolts but I know other models can be a pain. Sorry, I don't have that experience with those bikes so I can't really give any advice on that.
@@EndlessMoneyPits I appreciate it in these kinda videos it’s about the bike, nothing else and it’s clear & done in a well lit up space 👍 All you could do nw are short still images of parts/bolts in assembly order at end or start of vid. gg
You did a great job explaining this and adding arrows to all the screws and clips. Thank you!
It was a lot of work but was the only way to do it right. You're quite welcome!
Πολύ κατατοπιστικό βίντεο για αρκετά πραγματα, σας ευχαριστούμε πολύ.
I'm glad I could help. Thanks for watching!

Thank you! Couldnt have done it without your video, great explaination and details
Happy to help!
Cheers from Brazil 🇧🇷!
Good video man, I like how you show taking apart and putting back together!
Thank you! I try to show everything that might be helpful.
Lovely illustrations
Tbf bud best vid of this kinda thing so far on yt
Thank you!
Do you have a video on replacing the fuel filter?
No, not yet. Sorry.
Awesome tutorial!
Thank you

I haven't done it yet, but your service manual should have a good explanation.

They are all metric so if 17mm is loose then try an 18mm. I don't know the bolt sizes for that bike off hand, sorry.

Got any tips for if you don't remember where the screws came from? Asking for a friend lol

Hi! Do you have the service manual for the 2016 model? Thanks a lot

@@EndlessMoneyPits thanks a lot
Life saver🎉🎉😊
Any info on how to get the windscreen out. I know about the 6 bolts on the front, but mine juat seems to be stuck.
Mine just has the 6 bolts but I know other models can be a pain. Sorry, I don't have that experience with those bikes so I can't really give any advice on that.
Mine is the same 2018 cbr500ra. My screen just gets a bit stuck. Am worried that I will break it.
Mine is a 2016. There is nothing holding it in other than those bolts. 2018 looks different to me.
Can the new fairing work on the 2013 model?
No, I'm pretty sure the mounting points are all different.
@@EndlessMoneyPits much respect..
Could you make a vid for fuel draining on this bike?
Yes, I'll put that on the list. I could probably do that when I do a valve adjustment in the future. Thanks for the suggestion!

That's an interesting idea. I'll think about how I might be able to fit that in. Thanks!
