Your attention to detail still amazes me. It is admirable. You love an engineering solution. But you have the skills and the tools to do the job. Wonderful. 😊
Hi Adrian, great episode as always. Regarding Ivy. You'd only need to sever it from the base with a cut from a saw and it'll die and fall off by itself. No need to remove it. Done it hundreds of times. All the best!
Those gate's are designed for other end of crush and then it automatically locks open. I just disconnected the spring years ago as a temporary solution and have done same on new gate works a treat. Happy Easter.
Happy easter from my house and to yours Adrian. Another good video Oh i do love a good irish accent,i miss comming to Ireland, such a lovely lush green place with lovely warm hospitality.
I seem to remember it being called the luck of the Irish. Well it has been said before and I agree how smart, tidy and hard working a professional you are Adrian. An ambassador for Ireland and farming I tink it is fair to say. Only in Ireland would a gatepost fall backwards and a gate rise. A bucket full of tools along with much time and hard work albeit you did go to the expense of a new bubble ( great distraction gag ) for your level so it was sure to be corrected properly. One thing you can't change was the date you posted the video, perhaps two or even one 30 or 36 mm spanner was all the tools needed to put that gate right. Right ! Either way, keep up the good work...................😜😜
Hi Aiden Those gates are made to stay open,There are two 19 bolts under the top that are spring loaded ,ajust them and it is job done , had to do it to mine ,we have 4 of them, your gate is a older model , it's only ajustable only on one side.
Hi Adrian, im still getting round to watching your videos, that was some bit of graftting at thon tree man, you done well doing that in two hours, hard work hauling and cutting trees/ bushes.well keep er lit, videos are A1 👍
Happy Easter to the I farm family, from the far far away land of monaghan. Me and de son can't wait for Sundays for new videos and learn so much from ur routing
Hi Adrian happy Easter to you and your family hope you Mum and Dad are in good form. hopefully this weather will pick up very soon . love your channel God is good and thing will work out ..
Cut a ring around the ivy it will die off. You don't need to remove it. I do a couple of trees here and there every now and then. It also saves creepy crawly habitat.
Hello Adrian, weather starting to improve a bit hope it dryers the ground a bit , evening get longer now nice to see , great video, chat soon kieran from laghey donegal town
Happy Eastér to yourself and you family Adrian,I think you will find your land will come back,Better,More productive.Greener and will Dry Out soon.Good Luck Adrian
Another good video Adrian 👍thinking,,,,,Hudson thought he was going to have a ride in quad box! 🤪 you done well on gate post and cattle crush 👍👍 wet ground hardly any chain harrowing and rolling done here in Somerset uk just so wet! As for posts rotting out, they seem to have a life span now of 5-7 years, if you had a redundant ibc tank, you could fill up 2 foot of it with old engine oil (after servicing machines) leave fencing stakes soaking , lift out a few days before you want to use them so they can drain off, just a idea, noticed the ones I done are still strong and in place coming up 10 yrs , anyway stay safe have a good week 👍🍻 oh take it all calving finished and cattle all good 👍
Happy Easter❤ some job on the gate😊 and the crush😊 it feels great to sort something that's been bugging you for ages😁 sometimes it's just the way of things, doing right at the right time👍👌 your rod welder is fierce handy, because i only weld in the workshop i use a mig.. it's like welding with a biro in comparison😊😅😅😅
Great video lad as always. I am threatening to do the very same to my crush gate for years, you have just gave me the incentive to go and do it now. A scanning technician showed me that idea a few years back. You should have done a video on changing the bubble in the level 😂😂😂 happy Easter to ye all.
Good job on that gate Adrian, I would tent to ignore the ivy, not sure about pushing all that field over good idea but to be honest it never worked out the way you imagine, great video very enjoyable to watch having the morning coffee
Happy Easter Adrian your a very tidy and handy operator you commented on the green scum on the concrete you can get a product called spray and leave I would recommend it. I've used it myself and it worked for me and every time it rains it sort of refreshes it self. It's ireland so it refreshes it self right and often keep up the good work your a great ambassador for the farming community in ireland
What i used was spear and Jackson spray and leave seen it on one of the shopping channels one night 5lt made up about 25lt found it a good job they recommend twice a year march and September
Morning Adrian! Timber is 💩 these days ay…..how about clippex galvanised posts?? If one or all of your girls took the farm over after yourself they’d still be fit for their lifetimes too….definitely worth looking at considering the farm is your own! All the best 👍🏻
Happy Easter! I always enjoy your videos and the Ireland landscapes. Recently on another farm channel that I follow - Gierok Farms (small family dairy in Wisconsin) they did a video called "Do farmers make money?" which was an overview of their family and dairy operations. The topics covered were based on the viewer questions received in the comment section over the years. The presentation of the overview is basically the dad and son touring the dairy talking about the history and operations of their dairy. Check the video out and I bet your viewers would enjoy something similar about your dairy. Just a thought and suggestion.... Take care...
Tom Pemberton has just done a video of selling his beef stock and gave the financial side of it, really interesting to see how much difference in the quality it makes to the kg/£ return. ( Adrian knows Tom, I'm not trying to hijack his viewers, I'm hoping for a collab if either might ever have the time to 😉👍)
In regard to the creosote posts.. i use Creocoat, it's a creosote substitute😊 you'd need to soak the ends of the posts in tubs before putting them in the ground. Then lash on at least 3 coats for a good job😊 the posts need to be bone dry before starting❤
The only type of trees that I would get cut down in the fields if I were you Adrian would be the ash trees because of the Ash dieback problems in this country. A lot of ash does get covered in a lot of ivy no doubt and that is a real pain in the hole itself 🌳
I really hate to come up with ideas after the job is done . But to maybe give others some ideas - I would have chained the iron post to back of the tractor and pulled it back from where it came. After getting it to right spot I would back tamp with crowbar and gravel. I'll admit that a 13' post is a factor but as posts slip down a hill the uphill side is usually very soft and uncompacted. Wet time in spring would be best time.
Happy Easter to you and yours. Brilliant invention, simple solution when you think about it, we have 3 of those automatic headgates and a pure nuisance even with two people. You are preparing doses or something for the next animal when you get a shout at the hold the gate open. Thanks for sharing.
I got it from Mega fab Ltd early last year, got a smaller one for the front too, there a might job for keeping things dry and can still hold the fencing pegs with the lid closed
Happy Easter Adrian. Ok can we have a debate on spades..Those long handled ones you guys over there use seem so awkward..whats the history and why do people prefer ones with handles to those without...
Have heard of a lot of close calls and unfortunately not so close bad injuries with Chainsaw accidents recently. All of which could have been prevented sadly with the correct protection Trousers or Chaps. Could be worth mentioning in one of your videos (am sure you have already).
Great video as usual. Happy Easter. I noticed your quad has the same tyres as mine. Recently I noticed on mine that the right hand side rubs against the petrol tank when the suspension is compressed. I think you can add spacers to push out the wheels. Any thoughts or ideas.
Great vid Adrian 👍🏻 regarding the fencing, would you go clipex ? Bit more expensive but it's definitely worth it in the long haul id reckon. just a thought .👍🏻
When I was at school one of the "less gifted" pupils was sent by a science teacher who had filled a glass tube with fairy liquid on a mission all round the school looking for a new bubble. 😂😂😂
Happy Easter everyone from our house to yours 🐣
Same to yourselves.
Yes happy Easter to you and yours, 🍻
Happy Easter to your house from ours also😁
Happy Easter 🎉
Happy Easter! Just getting ready for church over here in Summerville, South Carolina. Have a great day. ❤🐣 🐰🌼🌞
Your attention to detail still amazes me. It is admirable.
You love an engineering solution.
But you have the skills and the tools to do the job.
Wonderful. 😊

Mate that’s some quick shovelling great job
Those gate's are designed for other end of crush and then it automatically locks open. I just disconnected the spring years ago as a temporary solution and have done same on new gate works a treat. Happy Easter.
Happy easter from my house and to yours Adrian.
Another good video
Oh i do love a good irish accent,i miss comming to Ireland, such a lovely lush green place with lovely warm hospitality.
I love to watch you fix things. Farm is still looking so good even with the rain.
Them new new bubbles make all the difference .. Great idea on crush gate safe and simple 🐄
I was thinking the same thing about the bubbles, new year, new bubbles! 😂
I seem to remember it being called the luck of the Irish. Well it has been said before and I agree how smart, tidy and hard working a professional you are Adrian. Laughed for about 5 mins after your "new bubbles" gag 😅😂 love the channel, from a Dub, living in rural longford, with my farming in-laws 😊
Happy easter like way you levelled the steel post great idea
You’re getting the hang of this farming malarkey Adrian, I’m impressed 😉
Best solution is often the simplest one that works. Great job on the crush. The best ideas come to ya on the toilet or in the shower 😅
Great video and Adrian very wet here in Kilkenny too. Happy Easter. 😊
A very satisfying getting the gates finished and working RIGHT!!!
Your ' can do ' positivity is infectious. Not a lazy bone in your body. Many happy returns for a very happy Easter to you and yours.
Hi Aiden Those gates are made to stay open,There are two 19 bolts under the top that are spring loaded ,ajust them and it is job done , had to do it to mine ,we have 4 of them, your gate is a older model , it's only ajustable only on one side.
Really good channel look forward to your trials! Always interesting and shows not everything works.

Happy Easter to you too, don't want to brag but yesterday we had 6 hours of sunshine. It was a total shock, even had to put the AC on in the car. 😂👍
Happy Easter to the I farm family, from the far far away land of monaghan. Me and de son can't wait for Sundays for new videos and learn so much from ur routing
Happy Easter Adrian, hope you have a great one 👍

Try subsoiling the field it works well for us.

Good morning all
Great skills. A bucket or so of fresh 804 would finish off that section nicely.
Good job on that gate Adrian, I would tent to ignore the ivy, not sure about pushing all that field over good idea but to be honest it never worked out the way you imagine, great video very enjoyable to watch having the morning coffee
Lucky that you had some new bubbles to hand 👌! The old ones wouldn't have been right for that gate at all! 🏴
Happy Easter Adrian your a very tidy and handy operator you commented on the green scum on the concrete you can get a product called spray and leave I would recommend it. Is that called 'wet and forget'. I have some made up here and didn't get enough dry weather to apply it yet.
What i used was spear and Jackson spray and leave seen it on one of the shopping channels one night 5lt made up about 25lt found it a good job they recommend twice a year march and September

Adrian Happy Easter to you and your family 👍🏻🇨🇦☘️🐣
Hi that was a great job with it lad Happy Easter to you and your family to
That tote you put on looks like a mini tipsy bin almost.
I need to learn how to wield and do this to ALL our gates !!
Happy Easter! I always enjoy your videos and the Ireland landscapes. Thanks for the show Adrian 🍻 🇦🇺
Happy easter Adrian 👍👍
Cracking video as always
Another great video 😃🚜👍
I bought a bag of fish farts so I’m going to put them into the levels I have in the workshop at home next week when I get a chance
Happy Easter to you and yours!
Great video Happy Easter 🐣
Happy Easter 🐰🐣🐄
For the green slime in the cattle crush we used chlorine and brushed it and the next day it was clean
Happy easter

Good stuff
If roofed with heat gaurd clear roofing that crush be brilliant loose boxes
Great video 😊 happy Easter to you and your family

When you were in your back silage field. I thought you were going to say, we are on our back side😂🤣
Happy Easter to you and yours, McGyver would be proud of you lol
Everything with in sixteen inch.here
Yes its a big problem ivy, when i was young ,my dad in the winter spent some times cutting ivy.
Great video adrian 👍
Happy Easter to all the family. You're a busy guy. Is there a school nearby where students can come help and get experience?
I really hate to come up with ideas after the job is done . But to maybe give others some ideas - I would have chained the iron post to back of the tractor and pulled it back from where it came. @ronriehle1337 with a comment like that it's obvious you've never actually hung a gate or set a gate post in your life 🙄
Clipex post are good to last
Happy Easter to you and yours.
Brilliant invention, simple solution when you think about it, we have 3 of those automatic headgates and a pure nuisance even with two people. You are preparing doses or something for the next animal when you get a shout at the hold the gate open. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Adrian, another great video, what make is the hinged box you put on your quad? Be great for back of my 4x4
I got it from Mega fab Ltd early last year, got a smaller one for the front too, there a might job for keeping things dry and can still hold the fencing pegs with the lid closed
Have you no chain Adrian? You love making work for yourself
Happy Easter Adrian. Ok can we have a debate on spades..Those long handled ones you guys over there use seem so awkward..whats the history and why do people prefer ones with handles to those without...

Here’s a video from 5 months back Peter 👍
ruclips.net/video/r3Lgg1H9PWw/видео.htmlsi=tRwj8fKxSvNDcKmE
Next year should buy in some sheep.do some.cleaning on hedges and grass alot dairy farmers doing it
Great video as usual. Happy Easter. I noticed your quad has the same tyres as mine. Recently I noticed on mine that the right hand side rubs against the petrol tank when the suspension is compressed. I think you can add spacers to push out the wheels. Any thoughts or ideas.
Will you give the post a lick of paint Adrian great video 👌
Galvafroid spray is a good one for new welds.
Andrew Camarata finish 😂👍
Question? If the gate not level does it make the cattle walk all lopsided when they near it?
151 New Bubbles ? I find Goldfish Farts make the best bubbles for a level
Plastic recycled posts any better ?
I would have put the thunder bolt in the wall with a loop of binder twine to drop over the top bar of the inside gate.
I drilled mine but the pin in from the side thought its easier 2 insert the pin
Did you know that bubble in a sprit level is a pigeon fart . Lol lol
