I remember when i was a kid working on my first farm, Full time at 12 years old. Anyway, i was sent out to chisel plow and yup, turned to tight and ran that darned thing right up the right rear tractor tire. Ruined a whole lot of stuff that day. But thankfully i worked for that farmer until i graduated high school full time for years! he was a very good man and to this day a great and respected friend. I LOVE those memories of learning what I do now! Only difference is I did it for money back then. It's all for the work itself and feeding as many people as I possibly can the very highest quality food I can produce for them.
I love to see old red iron work! Kind of a funny story, My dad told me that when he was young and his dad was showing him how to rake with an H, his dad told him don't take right turns too quick or you'll take the valve stem right off the tire. And then he promptly took the valve stem off the tire. Thanks for the great videos Pete!
I can define a good day. A blue sky, the smell of hay and engine oil from a working Farmall C in front of a four bar rake and an compliment from my grandfather after he finishes bailing on the good job you did raking.
Your arial photography adds so much to the work. Nice touch to catch your neighbor doing the same work. June in USNY, great time, miss it. Have a great day.
Great video. Enjoy watching your working on farm. 50 years ago worked on a farm where we mow raked and used sled to take hay into stack. Old gentleman I worked for done all work with horses. Thank you for sharing farm life with us.
Bringing back memories of my high school years when I would go help my buddies dad put up hay. Of course we put up square bales and had to toss square bales onto the wagon and put them up in the rafters in the barn.
Robert Webb,I know why its so relaxing watching Pete cut hay, while we are watching you truly relax and forget what turmoil the world is in,thats how I feel anyway.☺️
I like the idea of hats especially when it's cold or stormy. But I've always found them to feel hot on my head in warm weather. It's good that you can manage it though.
An honest hard day's work always puts a smile on a guy! You always have a smile... Keep it up, you're great at what you do, being you... Love watching from the left coast!
Raking hay with the Farmall C takes me right back to my childhood. The sound of that engine working was always music to my ears. Your channel is a breath of fresh air in this busy high tech world. Thanks Pete!
I was raised on a 120 acre dairy farm in North Central Illinois in the 50's and 60's helping Dad do chores. Used a "H" and rake as my first field experience at 8 years old. Still remember the sights and smells and sounds. Used to bale hay, walk beans and shell corn for farmers in my area. Farming is such a noble occupation. Thanks for your videos. You are living the dream........
i farmed central illinois as a kid on some old farms, baling season was the best time, riding on the hay rack between fields eating sun pickles and drinking cold tea, princeville was the first area i farmed and then later in the knox county area
I love it when you act silly knocking down the cameras and your dad joke etc.. It's part of the reason we love your channel so much because of your personality.
Pete, i love fresh cut hay, it smells so nice, i use to help my neighbour when i was a kid, he is long passed on to heaven, but i still remember those days of cutting, raking and baling, with him, his name was Teddy, we only did hay once a year here in New Brunswick, town of St. George, Canada, i'm 59 now, he also h ad a FRICK SAWMILL, use to help him with that also, well, help him where i could, he use to reward me with fresh milk, and home made BUTTER, and fresh garden vegetables, IT WAS AWESOME WHEN I WAS A KID, those were the days. Wish i could turn back time sometimes. Love your video's keep up making them, i will keep watching, brings back memories. of my childhood.
I like listening to the old tractors run. I spent my childhood growing up helping Grandpa fix the tractors He collected. All the old tractors have their own unique sound when they run. I think it's awesome that you not only fix these old tractors up but use them too. It is what they were made for after all.
Pete, love the videos - thank you for sharing. It is fantastic to see the way you work your land and work with your animals. You bring a lot of joy to a lot of people. Much appreciated. Cheers.
It was so interesting to see all those close-up/far-off perspectives, from the camera hiding in the dry grass to the aerial shots of you working the fields. Really great camera work! It enhances the story you are sharing immeasurably!
I enjoy the "first person" views of operating each Tractor's control with the full operation explained at some point. Genuinely helpful for those of us interested in, or actually in the process of, rebuilding / restoring one of these early marvels of engineering.
Thank you Pete. You reminded me of cutting, raking, & baling hay for my horses, with my JD 3020. I only have one tractor, which has to do all the field work, on my 20 acres. The children are all grown and gone, and I have to put a new fuel tank on my 3020. But at 74, probably your Dad's generation, I don't have to be in a hurry, since I also don't have any horses to feed anymore, but may get one, just for fun & something to do. Thank you again Pete, and here's wishing you & your family good health.
Here in west Texas the weather is very dry during hay season. I cut alfalfa in the morning but rake and bale at night when there is a little dew on the windrow. Otherwise, I would lose too much leaf and have bales of nothing but alfalfa stalks.
Love the drone view as you rake. Hope you keep doing that. As a little kid about 81 years ago, I used to sit on a hillside and watch my grampa work his fields with his two old mules. When he got his tractor he would sometimes take me with him. Precious memories.
I really enjoyed watching you rake hay. I suffer from chronic sciatic pain and it was particularly bad all night, but your video helped distract my mind this morning. Thank you.
Pete, that Super C is a true work of art. And she purrs like a happy kitten. And your drone video work is awesome. Thanks for sharing with us. BTW, farmers suffer a high incidence of skin cancer on their nose, ears and back of the neck. Your hat makes perfect sense for your protection. God bless.
Super C is the right tool for that job. Don't need a lot of HP to rake and it gets great fuel economy. The people that built it are all dead and gone, but look at it still doing what they built it to do. 19:48 Glamour shots!
YOU, Pete, hold the title of being my FAVORITEST RUclips channel!!! SO PROUD of who you are, how you live and all those handsome old classic Farmall tractors you've restored!!! I never miss an episode!!!👨🌾💚🧑🌾💚🧑🌾💚
Thank you for the entertaining and enriching video of your hay working skills. It's a pleasure to see the Super C enjoying herself and you using her with TLC. Your episodes always help me to feel better about the world, that there are still good people that exist - you bring us closer to nature, something that many of us crave, need and want. Much appreciation to you and yours for taking the time to create, edit and publish these gems. You helped to make my day, Pete, and I think you.
It must be a beautiful thing to walk upto a piece of equipment that is 50 plus years, and be able to turn the key and it starts right up,GOD Bless and have a great day
Growing up in Texas I'm so jealous of where your son gets to camp for scouts. New York is amazing for outdoor activities. The gorges, lakes, mountains, forests and beaches. Here in texas we have mostly flat and hot unless we get up in the hill country. Which is hilly and hot...
Pete, Beautiful restoration on all the tractors you have completed. I don't know anything about any of them but watching your restoration is such a fun activity. The tractor photos at the end were spectacular...Thank you for taking us along.
Who would have ever thought about watching a guy rake his hay fields could make for such entertainment 😊. Thanks for sharing Pete! I along with so many others really appreciate you, and your sense of humor and the kind of no nonsense approach to farming and life. Oh yeah didn't want forget mentioning how amazing all the hard work that you put into the maintenance and upkeep of those farm tractors is paying off and they really do look amazing 🤩. keep up the good work 💪
The fields looked just great after the racking. I am 73yr. Love watching your podcast. I was raised on a farm in Michigan, we had same animals as you have. Thanks so much for the podcast cast.
I don't know what's so fascinating that makes me sit here and enjoy watching you rake hay for 20 minutes. But it's definitely something peaceful to watch.
I think it is wonderful that all the tractors started. it appeared that you didn't have any problems with them. The hat is a very wise choice, Pete. You aren't out there for a beauty contest!
What a wonderful upbringing you had on the dairy farm! 🌾🐄 It's incredible how early you started gaining field experience and the memories you have from that time. Farming truly is a noble occupation, connecting us to the land and nature. Thank you for sharing your personal story, and I'm glad these videos bring back nostalgic moments for you. Keep living the dream and cherishing those precious farming memories! 🚜🌿🌻
I love the drone footage segments... Especially when the drone captures its own shadow! Wonderful land, beautiful equipment - There's absolutely nothing not to love about these videos!
I just love your videos. My neighbor grows hay behind us and next to us. I love watching the tractor. This year I’ll be watching with my 1 yr old grandson who loves anything that goes vroooom. 😂
This was a Super C video Pete, and still there is farmers with old school tractors in running condition but prefer doing that job in perfect weather with 4x4 six cylinder cab tractor, lol, I could see you enjoyed every moment
Lovely just in from a hard day and just a few acres drops a video, fantastic ,now for the science bit, ppe gear off, shorts and t-shirt on, kettle on for tea , out the back yard call my springer spaniel out , feet up press play . Ok Pete take it away . Its the simple things . Thanks Pete 🇮🇪
Hay pete looks like you are having lots of fun raking your hay its its always a pleasure to see your tractor's in action can't wait to see you bail your hay thanks for sharing
I watch your videos from the very begin and do love them. I am about your age, the youngest of a family of nine children. Our family did small farming in the high mountains of Switzerland. Goodmorning Pete. Beautiful day. Thanks for your time today. Lots of work lots of work. 😊 I just love seeing you work those old tractors. Makes my day.
Thanks for bringing back memories. I love hay season now that I'm to old to work the wagon or the loft. That was back breaking work. I love the smell of fresh hay.
Good morning to Just a few acres! Just want to say how much I appreciate your efforts to post these videos! They are all great and a highlight of my day. And: nothing at all to criticize! Fabulous job!
I'm not sure if this is my 3rd or 4th year watching Pete but I do remember there was a barn of old tractors and to see them refurbished all red and shiny make my heart full of joy.
I loved my time on the farm, lot of work yes but it was worth it, watching this takes me back to our farms over in bland VA. Thanks for the time you put in to these.
I remember 50 years ago when I was just a teenager raking hay with my uncles old Super C with a old JD pull behind rake. Those were the days..

It's good to see you smile enjoying life. You are a very lucky and wealthy man. Thank you for sharing life on the farm.
Your arial photography adds so much to the work. Nice touch to catch your neighbor doing the same work. June in USNY, great time, miss it. Have a great day.
Jay Leno, eat your heart! A ‘garage’ full of tractors and they all run! Oh, and a tractor for every implement at hay time ….. heaven!!
ahh yes...dry raking. sunburn heaven- luv the hat. Stay Hydrated and Keep Farming Fun Pete. Ty for the multi camera angles.
Back to your channel roots. My mini vacation. Thank you pete.
Great video. Enjoy watching your working on farm. 50 years ago worked on a farm where we mow raked and used sled to take hay into stack. Old gentleman I worked for done all work with horses. Thank you for sharing farm life with us.
So enjoy watching you work with the old equipment. I grew up on an H and a B Farmall.
Bringing back memories of my high school years when I would go help my buddies dad put up hay. Of course we put up square bales and had to toss square bales onto the wagon and put them up in the rafters in the barn.
Running a tractor and rake in a field is therapy for me. Even watching you raking is therapeutic for me, Thank you!
Yeah I can smell that hay all right. Beautiful pastime, beautiful day and beautifully restored and running old tractor! All in all, a perfect video.
So cool to see that old shiny tractor working. Can't say why but I love watching people, and tractors haying, thanks for the vid.
Robert Webb,I know why its so relaxing watching Pete cut hay, while we are watching you truly relax and forget what turmoil the world is in,thats how I feel anyway.☺️
Yay for hat wearers! I started wearing hats 40+ years ago, after my wife's first skin cancer.
I like the idea of hats especially when it's cold or stormy. But I've always found them to feel hot on my head in warm weather. It's good that you can manage it though.
Thank you for letting me ride with you.
Thanks Pete/Hilary, it's so nice to see someone that still takes great care of their tools and machinery to work the land.
An honest hard day's work always puts a smile on a guy!
You always have a smile... Keep it up, you're great at what you do, being you... Love watching from the left coast!
i really enjoy watching you work all of your new old equipment

Love seeing old red tractors work.

Really like the fact that you have show quality older machinery that you use for their purpose.
Great way to show you don't need new and fancy equipment to bale hay!
Red Power...70 years old and still on the job!
Pete, love the videos - thank you for sharing. It is fantastic to see the way you work your land and work with your animals. You bring a lot of joy to a lot of people. Much appreciated. Cheers.

The camera in the grass is "so Pete". I always find his videos informative and funny all at the same time. By far my favorite channel right here!
I enjoy the "first person" views of operating each Tractor's control with the full operation explained at some point.

Love the drone footage. Gives a much clearer idea of why you use the patterns you do.
I really enjoyed watching you rake hay. I suffer from chronic sciatic pain and it was particularly bad all night, but your video helped distract my mind this morning. Thank you.
We use our 1949 Super A to rake. She's old but does the best job for raking. Brutus, our 1972 IH 170 diesel is still the boss for cutting and baling.
God bless.
Fun to watch the raking, but the stills of the Super C made me smile.
What a great opportunity for 1st cut. The weather is perfect! What a blessing.
Love it out on the tractor. To hear the rake and hay. Just a joy. Thanks again.
Super C is the right tool for that job. Don't need a lot of HP to rake and it gets great fuel economy. The people that built it are all dead and gone, but look at it still doing what they built it to do. 19:48 Glamour shots!
As a former operator, and amature farmer. This is exactly what I needed
Fantastic cinematography. Very evocative. Thanks.
Everything about your videos right down to the sound of the old Farmall’s reminds me of growing up in our old farm.
The smile on your face Pete, my goodness, your a man in the right place doing exactly what is right for you to be doing. God bless you brother.

The most genuine people on here.
Just love seeing the old equipment still earning it's keep.
The bovine complaint department always makes me laugh! Great video Pete.
Love watching the old equipment do what it was designed and built to do. New is nice but the old is classic.

Good morning, Pete. I wanted to say that everything I learned about farming from you will always be priceless to me.
So cool to see all those tractors fire up and shuffle around.
The editor needs a raise!! The drone footage alone is fantastic. Absolutely incredible. Another great video. SO SATISFYING! 💯💯❤️
The drone operator is doing an excellent job! A birds-eye view makes a world of difference.

Hey Pete, I think it is so awesome that all your old tractors run so well and purr like new... You do an awesome job and I admire you!!!
These machines have helped people save more time
Love love love love these old tractors.. Thanks for the great video...
Always appreciate Hilary’s drone footage 👍
This was a Super C video Pete, and still there is farmers with old school tractors in running condition but prefer doing that job in perfect weather with 4x4 six cylinder cab tractor, lol, I could see you enjoyed every moment
I absolutely loved the 'firing up' of all the tractors. I'm a tractor dude myself!! Thanks, Pete!!
Love the drone shots.
Old saying make hay when the sun shines.
The Super C went well. Thanks for sharing from Sydney, Australia
My parents gave up in the eighties as no one of us children took over.
The way we and the people in our village made hay was without any tractor. We either cut by hand with a scythe or with a little machine (fuel driven) with two handles and a sickle-bar in the front which we had to follow by foot. No sitting. We did all the tedding with a fork by hand/foot all the raking by hand/foot and we even loaded the hey with a fork by hand/foot on a trailer. The machine with a trailer was the only thing to sit while working;) . The hey was then put by fork into a belt-driven blower which blew it into the barn through the roof. Every barn was built with a door on the roof for this purpose. In the barn someone had to evenly spread the hey with a fork (the hey was not bailed but loosely in the barn and picked with a wooden back-basket to feed the cattle). Heying was a family affair and helping hands were always welcome.
There were no tractors at all. And on steep and uneven mountain meadows, this is the way it is done to this day.
I am amazed, how early (a century before us) the Americas could sit doing these jobs. This and lots of memories of hard labor goes through my head watching you. I love it.
Been enjoying since you Were less then 1,000 been great. Love you and family and congratulations for wonderful moments happy times and joy you gave me❤❤❤
"Wheel Spinner", eh? When I was in high school, we called those "Knicker Knobs". Thanks for the video, Pete.
My husband and I enjoy all your videos. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, views and sense of humor. ✌ Peace.
The sound of the gears in the SuperC brings back memories of raking hay in my childhood .
