To get a little more Dean Cameron you should do Men At Work, The Estevez/Sheen brother movie. He also did a movie called Rockula , got to love the 80's, no concept was too wild.
"It's not how far you go, it's how go you far." If you like this movie, highly recommend Ski Patrol (1990) to be placed on your list. Fun Fact: The soliloquy that Dave quotes while sucking on helium is taken from Shakespeare's "Hamlet" Act 2, Scene 2. Music Enthusiast Fact: Two songs on the soundtrack, "Punch Drunk" and "Half Man, Half Beast" are provided by the metal band Lock Up. The guitarist on those songs was Tom Morello, who would go on to form the much-acclaimed alt-rock band Rage Against The Machine. Dubs Suck Fact: The character of David Marshack was originally scripted and played out as David Marshall. However, feeling the name was too bland, Marshall was dubbed over with Marshack; unfortunately, the mouth movements of the other characters do not hide this fact as well as the director would have liked. Nor were the visual cues changed: at just under 1 hour into the film, the place card for David Marshall can be clearly seen on the leader board, just as Marshack slides to a halt beneath it.
Thanks and yeah I think Ski Patrol is a must. That's another familiar poster with someone hitting a tree or something that I've also always wanted to see. "Dubs suck fact" well played. 😂 Honestly, it's so easy to tell that they changed his name. It was bugging me so much cause the dubs were so noticable.
I watched this so many times as a teenager. You can guess why. Ski Patrol is from the same year and similar, but much tamer and rated PG. It's not a "sexy ski" movie and you wouldn't have needed to change the channel if your parents caught you watching it. Just a heads up so that you're not too disappointed if you do get around to it. Ski School 2 does feature Dean Cameron. Honestly, I don't remember anything about it. Maybe it's not memorable or maybe it's because it came out after my adolescent years and I didn't watch it over and over like the first. The reviews on IMDb seem pretty decent and not a huge drop from the first, so that may be worth watching. Someone else mentioned Miracle Beach. If you want more Dean Cameron, that's an option. It's sort of like Ski School, but on the beach and more of a rom com. The highlight is Ami Dolenz, who was one of my biggest crushes at the time.😍
Awesome, thank you for the clarification on Ski Patrol. Miracle Beach sounds pretty cool. I'll add it to my list alongside Rockula which I just added for when I need more Dean Cameron.
Ski School 2 is unfortunately nowhere near as entertaining as the first film. Even Dean Cameron said he didn't enjoy making it as much as the first one.
This movie's hilarious. I remember catching it on late night cable way back in the day and just laughing throughout. It's definitely one of those films you had to see as a teenager and try not to get caught watching by your parents. Sidenote: If you ever watched the show JAG, you'll recognize "Mister Ed" as Bud on that show.
Haha. You had me at it feels like I’m watching this with my parents. I love this genre for sure. Hardbodies 1984 was the best. I never actually watched Ski School all the way through, but I worked at a video store in 91 and it was on the New Release section for quite awhile next to the likes of Die Hard 2:)
@@JayBondReacts Hardbodies is worth a watch for sure. Courtney Gaines, the red headed dude from Children of The Corn is in it as the main protagonist’s sidekick:)
I honestly cannot remember if I've seen this one... I know I've seen at least two other raunchy ski movies - Ski Patrol and Out Cold - but none of the plot points of ski school seem familiar 😅 For a non-comedy ski resort movie (with Sean Astin and Bruce Campbell) - Icebreaker
@@ThisLoveIsSweet Yes. Hot Dog... The Movie was 3 years earlier and probably inspired at least the title of Hamburger: The Motion Picture. In fact, years earlier was The Kentucky Fried Movie. To anyone who isn't familiar with some or all of these movies, it probably sounds like I'm making jokes, but I'm not. 😂
It's weird to me that you mention obscure movies like the brain and i straight away know which movie and actor you're talking about, (I need to watch fewer movies)
You gotta love the ragtag group of outcasts fighting back against the privileged holier than thou group storyline. It happened so much in films from this time. I'd echo the other comments that recommended Ski Patrol which is silly fun and Better Off Dead which is a classic. I'd throw another 90s title in there, it's called "PCU" and is silly and clever for its' time with a fun cast. About the sequel, while I loved Dean Cameron back in the day in Summer School, Miracle Beach, Rockula and this and while he does return for Ski School 2, I don't think it's quite on the level of this one.
Hey Jay ! Animal House on Skis. A Fun, Raunchy Movie. I saw it back in the day. I don't know if the newer generation would like this movie for what it is not for what they want it to be.
I have worked in the ski industry my whole life. I love this movie. Thank you for reacting to it. Especially bc I don't think any other reactor has. 🙌⛷️👍☝️
Nice! Yeah, I think I'm the first for this one. If I can squeeze in Ski School 2 while it's still snowy up here in Canada, I will. Btw, appreciate all the comments, even if I can't respond to all of them.
Ahh, weekend titty flicks from my youth. Mentioning the other "Ski movies" made me remember the barrage of them during this time, along with surfing, rollerblading, skateboarding, etc. movies of the late 80's and early 90's. Personally, I enjoyed watching Ski Patrol more but mostly because of my age and the shenanigans that were in the movie as well as my first encounter with the recently passed Leslie Jordan and a young Paul Feig, before his rise in fame for directing Bridesmaids and for his similar look to Bob Saget. I was a bit surprised to not hear Summer School as one of the movies to bring up that had both Dean and Patrick. For some more skiing plot movies, try Better Off Dead with John Cusack, if you haven't already seen it. That and One Crazy Summer were movies I watched religiously, both directed by Savage Steve Holland and starring John Cusack. The stories in those are very amusing and funny. Great cast of actors from mentions on past videos. Can't wait for the next ones.
Aw, Leslie Jordan was hilarious. Didn't know he was in Ski Patrol so that makes me want to watch it more! Better Off Dead is still on my list, so I'll hopefully do that soon after I do some festive movies. (ignore the upcoming Rambo 5 and Porky's, I wasn't thinking they'd be released in December 😂)
@@JayBondReacts Not to influence a rush to watch Better Off Dead, but there is a Christmas scene in the movie. It'll be fun to see how much of Porky's gets past RUclips, but can't wait for that reaction. lol. You thought this movie had some uncomfortable scenes to watch while we watch you watching them....
Classic tit flick. Another great review. Loving the deep cut choices. If your gonna do more Kung Fu movies you should do a Marchial Arts Month haha yes I said Marchial...could do Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Shoalin Soccer, Best of the best and so many more...Maybe some Chuck Norris.
Hahaha I love that, though I can't do dedicated months but I do want to watch all of those. Not sure if I have any Chuck Norris on my list now that I think about it.
OK now you really gotta do BETTER OFF DEAD! A ski race is a huge plot point in that film
Okay, I'm sold. I didn't know that! It makes sense to do soon then. Perhaps I'll shoot it this week alongside A Christmas Story.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia did an entire sequel episode to this movie when Frank buys the sky mountain.
I was just about to comment on this lol hilarious episode!
Hahaha Nice. I don't remember that episode at all, but now I can't wait to rewatch it. That's a series I basically start over everytime I finish it. 😂
@@JayBondReacts I'm going to go back and watch it now it's been too long I can't remember the season I know it's a later one

I remember Hot Dog from this genre/timeframe
Kinda the same.
Wow, another skiing teen comedy. I wonder how deep this little subgenre goes!
Yeah, I think that Hot Dog was the first and its popularity led to more skiing comedies between the mid 80s and mid 90s, including Ski School 1 & 2.
You should check out "Hot Dog: The Movie" from 1983. It's a similar premise and raunchy as all hell.
Nice, thanks!
Hot Dog is one of my 3 favorite all time films and filmed just outside my town of Reno in Squaw Valley

Never heard of that one. Bruce Campbell in a non-comedy seems weird. 😂
Out Cold is hilarious and that was the first thing I ever saw Zack Galifianakis in before he was well known.
Also along this line of cheese is "Hamburger: The Movie" it's an 80's obscure classic.
Wasn't there a ski movie around this time called Hot Dog? 🌭

1984's Up the Creek needs to make your watch list
It's weird to me that you mention obscure movies like the brain and i straight away know which movie and actor you're talking about, (I need to watch fewer movies)

If you watch some of the Greg Stump ski films you can see some of the symbiotic influences in his films and ski school

That sounds so fun! And the poster basically sold me on it. 😂 Thanks!

I'm sorry you missed out! There were probably like 8 scenes with nudity. And the sex scene with Victoria was quality. 😂
Ski bunnies wasn't a sexist comment now snow-cow and racer chaser were
Ah, okay. Thanks. Haven't heard those terms. 😂
