  • I am using the proprietary one-way valves from Rjettek.com to allow me to refill most OEM Epson Carts. So Far I have been able to refill and reset Epson carts for the Stylus 1400, 2200, R340, R380, R2400. OEM carts are superior to any refillable cart option, though some are excellently built. I use refillable carts for most Epson whose carts utilize a wet ink sensor behind the chip. The R1900 is a good example. If you let the ink drop too low you will not be able to reset that chip.
    This is a pretty long refill video but it should leave you well informed and show you how easy it really is to refill Epson OEM carts with these valves,

    Thanks, I discovered these valves and really, it's the only reliable way to do the refill job properly so you will not ink flow problems later which will look as if you have nozzle clogs, when it's simply bad ink flow.
    All the refillables I've used on the 2200 do not live up to refilled OEM carts.

    The valves with O rings part number is 1963 and it is still listed.
    The Reseter you'll have to order from an EBAY seller.
    Basic Epson Resetters will do 7 and 9 pin chips. Only the older printers can be reset. Since I cannot post links just search on ebay for a combination 7-9 pin Epson Resetter. They will reset both types or chips.
    Hope that answers your questions,
    Take care and good luck

    Hello Steve. It all depends on how clogged the head will be. If the seller allows you, you need to power it up and just test it. Run a Nozzle check and see what you have. If clogged run cleaning cycles as needed or clean with Windex in a syringe with rubber tubing. If still clogged, turn on printer and remove power and immediately remove plug. Move head over some paper towels. Attach tubing to ink stem on head and try to inject Windex. GENTLY inject ink until you have full flow.

    Don't get me wrong, your video is awesome. But I was looking for a way to refill my ink cartridges without spending money, and now I need all the plastic rings, plugs, the metal hole punch, drill bits, a siphon.. I can't afford that, it's why I came to youtube for a tutorial in the first place. But it is an awesome video, I liked it.

  • @cheo1949
    @cheo1949  12 лет назад

    Only if they have the same understructure as the carts I show in this video. Since that is a UK version it very like does not have a resetter that can support it.
    Only the Epson carts for the Stylus 1400, 2200, R340, R380, R2400. OEM carts have the easily refillable underside port.

  • @JoseRodriguez-db8jf

    I will through a full set of carts in a matter of a couple of weeks in my shop. I am printing hundreds of prints a week. I also have another 12 printers I have to keep fed so saving on inks and still out perform OEM in image quality just makes perfect sense to me. If it took me 5 months before I needed an ink cart preplacement then yes I would probably pay the top price.

    Go to the rjettek site and search for Part Number: 1963
    To see what are the Cartridge # that the valves are suitable for.
    Click on the See More button on the bottom of the product description for a complete list of Cart #s these valves can be used on..

    If you were reffering to me William would agree. Butr I choose to refill so I can try other inks. At the time I began to refill some of my OEM carts I did use Image Specialists inks and Jon CONE inks which in my oppinion excel Epson K3 inks in every test I've run. Recently I began to buy 220ML Epson carts, from various sellers so I can now use OEM inks on my refillable OEM and none OEM carts. Price comes out to about $14 to about $20 per 110ml. So I am not throughing away carts to the landfill

  • @cheo1949

    You can begin with soaking the bottom of the head over some windex soaked paper towels laid over the area where the head passes over as it moves left to right while it is printing. Lay the heads over the wet towel for hours. Change the towel with a fresh one every several hours. After a day of so f this treatment, try very gently injecting Windex as I described.
    There are many videos here on RUclips showing exactly how this is done.
    You must use Ammonia Based Windex. Warm is best.
    Good Luck

    I think that the unresettable wetness sensor is just on the t07xx and t08xx, also the t128, t129, t13... has this sensor, but they are resettable anyway :)
    That sensor has been removed on the Epson 16, 18, and next cartridges, even on the 24 and 26s, but i never found a way to refill those new cartridges :)

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  8 лет назад

      +ADCSFXworks Printing Center Yes, I really have not experimented too much on trying to defeat the Wet Sensor specially if there are good refillable carts available for those printers that use them. I mainly have modified the T034 and T059 carts as they are the older design and easy to mess with.

    New one what? OEM Carts? Sure! If you can afford them then ofcourse OEM carts and Inks are always the best option.
    But for the majority of users, refilling is the only option.
    Ink is TOP quality and practically identical IQ to OEM inks so the best of both worlds if you refill the OEM carts rather than Chinese Refillable carts.

  • @cheo1949
    @cheo1949  11 лет назад

    Any tubing whose inner diameter will fit tightly around the ink stem where the ink cart inserts on to. I assume it is 1/8" outer diameter, It has to also attach to the end stem of a syringe such as those used in refilling. The Lewer lock ones are no good for this.
    Apply minimal pressure and see whether it will allow you to pass some fluid through the ink stem and thus through that individual ink channel. You will know! It should only take minimal pressure.

    First the chip and sensor are passive devices ( no battery. ) Only when connected to the printer can a negative Response (empty) be registered.
    Once that occurs, the cartridge is registered (by sn#??) Into a area of non-volatile on the main circuit board.
    Every board is different (which chip ) it is.
    Basically, once you know the chip, look at the datasheet, and either reset it ( adding 5v to the reset pin) or how ever the datasheet says to erase/ it.
    Or, always hold the pin low/high depending on whatever state shows it as full.
    Thats just playing with voltages. Coding it just says the chip doest care anymore and always reports a positive state.
    Simple, right?

  • @TheMuzazo

    Thank you for your explanations, where I can find this material?

  • @cheo1949
    @cheo1949  11 лет назад

    You may have to repeat this many times. Once you are getting clear windex onto the paper towels reinstall new carts and let it load the ink. Run nozzle check and you should have a hear running head.
    This is a very dangerous process and if you apply too much pressure you will damage the print head so proceed at your own risk.
    So you know, I have revived 4 Epson 2200s in this manner.
    Good Luck

Also this only works with VERY old EPSON carts. You can not use it for anything newer. The CART Codes are listed in the description.

    Hi Jose! I took your advice and got the CISS for my Epson 2200. I have a problem tho, my yellow is not printing. (I have not received the CISS, this is on OEM ink.) The printer had been sitting for a while and I got the other colors printing nicely, but the yellow only prints a little (just a couple broken up lines on the nozzle check) and never when I'm printing on paper. How do I clean this? The cart if half full, there is wet ink in the small port, but I cannot figure how to clean it. Using the maintenance clean has not worked at all. Thanks!

      For what printer? I have not tried them but be aware that most if not all refillable Epson carts being sold are pretty much the same. They come in to type. Auto priming or vacuum or manual priming. ARC work pretty much indentical! When they reach empty you remove, fill and reinsert. They then reset. Older chips literally reset with any interruption of power. Some resent chips had internal batteries and you had to manually reset them at will by shorting out two round contacts on the chip. Those are no longer sold by many resellers.

      Ok then just about every refillable carts sold by anyone are pretty much the same. If you look at the side and you see a semi circular arch over the exit area then they are self priming. If they do not, they will have a small circular priming chamber on he upper left or right. Depending on how you are looking at them. Those require vacuum priming. All use arc and must reach empty before they will reset.

      They do not seem to have this kit any longer. Apparently not a steady good seller!All I can suggest is that you contact them and see what they might still have.You will definitely need the valves. They can be used with the sealing O ring or the sealing solid Ball. This method only works with CART numbers I listed on the video description. Not on ANY of the newer cart types as they have totally different internal structure to prevent you from doing this modification!

      Joe Arroyo Te tengo que contester en Ingles! Para que todo peudan enterder.Joe wrote:My Printer is the R1900 if I do not use Ultrachrome inks will the quality be the same?The answer is a BIG no!The glossy characteristics of the R1900 and R2000 ink set relies on the fact that the inks are also very glossy unlike other pigment inks, OEM, 3rd party of otherwise.The OEM Gloss Optimizer is superior to anything being offered by anyone except maybe OCP from Germany. Even so you will never come close to the original quality of OEM R1900 / R2000 inks with any 3rd party inks. If you do not print to glossy media then you are fine with other then OEM. Hi Jose,
    Is it possible to resurrect an Epson 2200 that has sat for 3 years? I was going to buy it so I can do your ink refill routine. It has sat with the original cartridges in it. Thank you kindly for the info.
    Kind Regards,
    Steve

    sir? can you help me on my epson t60 cartridge, i refilled it but the chip is low. can you help me on how to reset the chip on the cartidge.? i hope you well help me, please. this is very usefull on me. thanks sir.

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  9 лет назад

      Peter Tenefrancia And for what Model is that Cart? Is it the CX series???To reset the chip you need a resetter that will work on that particular model cart T60. If there is no resetter for that cart then you can not reset it. Look on EBAY to see if there is a chip resetter for it. I only work on larger 13" or more Photo Printers so I do not have experience with these smaller printers.Joe AKA Jtoolman

      only if they have the double taped over holes on the underside. If you look at the description you will need the CART Numbers that can be modified.

    • @cheo1949

      There is no Specific EPSON SP2200 resetter. You just buy a generic 7 or 9 pin resetter and see whether that T034 cart chips can be reset by them.

    Any help please.
    I ,already have bought, the replacement kit for Epson-Stylus photo RX620 printer, which takes the TO480 series cartridges. (TO481 TO482 TO483 TO484 TO485 TO486)
    Unfortunately, i have lost the waste bottle and the wast line (which was connected with it)
    I want to buy 1 waste bottle and 1 wast line for these cartridges (Epson Stylus TO480 Series(TO481-TO486)).
    But Rjettek.com answer that no more sell these parts. I also found it in an other seller but he sell the full kit but not spare parts on their own and the price of the full kit is very high for me.
    Anybody can help me with any idea , like where i can buy, the waste bottle and the wast line (as spare parts), or only the waste line. Or if i can use something else to replace the waste line and especially the valve of it (the one that goes inside the cartridge exit).
    Thanks

      Most 3rd party ink resellers sell any and all resetters.

  • @ljcooil87

    Just because you can get OEM epson cartridges for like 99 cents on Ebay. So when you combine the ink siphon and bulk ink tubs + time spent, you end up losing money.

    Isnt it the part the carts sit on?

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  6 лет назад

      Yes but what does Water based mean? Plus again, why would you need that item? The models it indicates it is for are large format ones and they would not have carts directly mounted there.

    • @markfewtrell2198
      @markfewtrell2198 6 лет назад

      Ive a R1800 and this looks the same. However i was looking around for fixes and though im not sure- which is why im asking- is it this part which clogs?

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  6 лет назад

      Oh OK. No that is not the part that clogs. The nozzle plate... In other words the expensive component of the print head. That component is just a plastic holder for the carts but... It is not what you want. According to the details That part is for a large format Epson printer print head which uses stationary carts connected via Ink lines and eventually via Dampers to the printhead. It was a good thought but nope it will not work. Unless the whole product description is wrong to begin with.

    • @markfewtrell2198

      Ok thanks for your time as you say their description is a little chinglish!

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah...... I TBI is that's the case here. It looks to me their are trying to sell something that realistically useless as there no way the regular "Joe" would ever be able to use. People will be led to think they are buying a printhead when in reality they probably ripped them off broken printers. Totally useless item!!!

  • @Gavichap
    @Gavichap 4 года назад

    Basically for big $$$ you get a bit of plastic with a labirinth inside, valves, dampers, chip, wet sensor and a spit of ink! So Epson spent millions in designing all those snares in their carts just to prevent *YOU* the normal user from refilling and reusing the stuff they sell at overblown prices, resulting in millions of carts ending up in landfills! Talk about protecting the environment and the resources! PAH!
