- A video on how I painted my Jordan Powder Blue 3 midsoles. I am getting my 3s reconstructed and I wanted an all white midsole.
I used Angelus white acrylic leather paint and Princeton brushes purchased from AngelusDirect.com
Here's a link to my midsole paint removal video:

I’m trying to repaint the white mid-soles on my Nike air max plus TN is there anything that I should know before doing it?
Depends on the color of the area if the color match then yes if not then no
You should put a finisher on that to sealed it. and it is advisable specialy for beginners to put tapes on sides so that the paint won't be messy.
Do you know of any brand names or what exactly I am looking for in a finisher? Like clear coat ? Thanks in advance
@@ImmersiveGamer83 best finisher is liquidkicks scratch proof top coat angelus also has a new finisher which is supposed to work well but I haven't used it before
The paint then does not crack from walking? Did not cover with varnish?
Original Obuv Eventually I think it will crack. I did not apply any varnish just the acrylic paint.
I want to paint some sandals rubber soles black, do you think it will work?
how many coat do you use?
and is there any other acrylic paint on grocery stores is safe for midsoles?angelus paint is a little bit expensive and hard to find in my country.
so if i use basic acrylic paint that sells on many grocery store is it safe and will last long?
Dimas Kamil98 I believe I did 4 or 5 coats; I can't remember. I'm not sure about other types of acrylic paint. That's something I didn't do research on.
Dimas Kamil98 Anything other than Angelus cracks
Mediocre TV Good to know.
And the minute you step in water it washes off. You should use 2hard additive and seal it
I painted using black on some new shoes and the paint chipped off after just a few uses.. 😢
Can i use any specific type of paint (house paint) on my Nike AF1 rubber sole, because its starting to turn yellowish
If you’re going to spend the time and money painting them, I would recommend going with a respected company like Angelus who specialize in shoe paint. I’m sure there are other companies but when I did research at the time for this, Angelus kept popping up.
Does this works on vans shoes?
since angelus is for leather and midsoles are rubber. my question is that is the angelus on rubber midsoles works well, sticks firm.and well just like factory finish/paint or product on leather stuff which the angelus is meant really for. will the paint on the rubber midsole chip, crack or scrape off when brushing it for cleaning the shoes when it gets dirty. PLEASE S.O.S, I BEEN LOOKING FOR ANSWER AND I REALLY REALLY NEED ANSWER.
Valpuia Khiangte I've cleaned the midsoles on my customs using the Jason Markk cleaning brush and Angelus Easy Cleaner soap numerous times and the paint is still holding up. I'm sure after a few years of wear and tear that eventually the midsole paint will chip and crack and will need to be reapplied.
deejaybalance thank you sir, like thank you so much. but i need a real paint meant for rubber still
Valpuia Khiangte I am not aware of one for rubber. This was also my first time painting midsoles so you might need to ask an expert.
deejaybalance for one last question, can u please tell me who is an expert?? If u know any who is?
Valpuia Khiangte Sorry I don't. I watched RUclips videos and used Google searches for basic information.
I bought some airforce 1s. Brand new. Should I remove the original paint?
Not familiar with AF1 soles but I’d imagine it’s best to remove the paint first before painting.
Thanks for this video. Can you paint over 3m reflective with normal paint on sneakers to get rid of the reflective shining. I have those Adidas nite joggers. I like the sThanks for this video. I've never dealt with painting over 3M before but I can imagine for the best results you would have to remove the 3M first before painting.
@@deejaybalance Thanks for the reply
Hi. dont you have to mix the paint with angelus too hard medium?
I am not familiar with that process.
Yeah..he said it was his firat time painting mid soles lol
is the paint gonna crack as i use the shoes?
I can imagine it will over time and will eventually need paint removal and re-paint.
If you have a new shoe and want to paint a small area is it necessary to remove the paint?
I don't think you need to. I guess when it starts flaking due to age and wear then you can think about removing all the paint and repainting.
I'm sure u all rdy found out the answer but you should always remove paint before changing colors or trying to paint over it for longer lasting/best results even if it's a new shoe
some one please tell me what I can do to fix the blue on the 3s..
I'm not familiar with that process.
any cracking yet? could you make a update video?
KAYOS KARL No cracks of yet but I don’t wear them as much as I used to. I’ll definitely have to do an update video.
youre brave not taping those off my friend
The upper was going to be reconstructed anyways so I thought it would be a waste of time to tape it off.
Does it crack?
Nice 👍🏿
I’m gonna try this on the white mid soles of my AirMax 97s...let you know how I did
Good luck 🤞
Howd it go? Im tryna do the same w mine
How did it go?
Do you need a finisher or will just only the paint do?
I only used the paint and no finisher. So far so good on the midsole paint.
@@deejaybalance how did they age bro
Please reply could I use this paint on the yeezy white cream v2 midsoles???
H.Cruzz10 I don’t know if it would work since it’s a translucent sole plus it’s not a foam sole like the 3s.
@@deejaybalance damn guess I’m stuck with piss yellow yeezys
I want to paint black my white soles. What paints should I buy?
I’ve only painted midsoles this one time and I had great results with Angelus.
Is it okay to use spray paint like sherlux?
No. Adhesion properties are different in spray paint than they are in acrylic
How about using hair dryer for each coat to make it faster?
kurdapya19 on the leather part but not on the midsoles
Not a bad idea.
Did it before and didn’t have any problems. Just make sure it’s really dry
How have these held up?
I haven’t worn these in awhile but they still look good. No cracks or chips yet.
How low Ng does the paint last??
I made this video 5 years ago and the midsole paint has not cracked yet. But I also don’t wear my custom 3s regularly.
How long does it take to dry the paint for the midsole?
Hayden Ling I believe you can wait two hours between coats.
deejaybalance thank.
Does the paint come off?
I'm pretty sure it will after time and how often you wear the shoes. I've been wearing my customs every other day and they seem fine so far.
Omg that gave me anxiety not tape or nothing one mistake the shoes is gonzo
Reyes K1ng I got them reconstructed so I didn’t bother if the upper got destroyed.
Why the fuck would you make a how to video about something you are doing for the first time?
some one please tell me what I can do to fix the blue on the 3s..
Shawn Anderson What's the issue?
the blue is like black rubbed on. ..What can I use to paint or dye the blue?
