Thank you 🙏👍 so much for pointing it out, it truly helps to understand.

High-Quality mode gives you better night shots with less noise, so it's great for that. During the daytime, you're not going to see any difference between battery saver or HQ modes. I only use my Pocket with the do-it-all handle mostly because it adds enough length so I don't have to worry about covering the built-in mics. I prefer the built-in sound to the wireless mic unless it's a windy day.

Excellent set of tips and tricks, efficiently presented. What can I add.... some users might not know that if you slide your finger up and down the right edge of the screen, you get zoom, or you get tilt, depending on how the joystick function is set. (For instance, if the joystick is on zoom, then the finger swipe gives you tilt). Also, if playing back a video on the device, volume of audio replay through the tiny speaker in the do-it-all handle, or through the mic in/headphone out socket, is controlled by up and down swiping in the middle of the screen. Cheers!

Hi Peter, how have you been! nice additions. I didn't mention the joystick (zoom and tilt) since I've covered that a few times already, but yeah it definitely belongs on the list. Hope you are doing well!

great list of good recommendations as far as I can tell/ One issue though is that the extension pole recommended here gets a few relatively low recommendations from reviewers claiming that the build quality is not satisfactory. Some of them say that the pole collapsed after a few days of usage.

🤣🤣🤣 Otto! I had that EXACT look of disgust on my face every time I turned on this baby beast and it went directly in to selfie mode! A HUGE thank you for that first tip! I already switched to 60Hz for the flicker. Now I'm going to turn off "high quality" and see if that helps with the heat and battery life. This thing gets very hot, and I shoot 1080p exclusively. The jury is still out on whether I'm keeping it. 👍👍👍

Hi Otto, I bought a Dji Pocket 2 and seen all your videos. Many thanks all great.
As beginner I need some help. So I would like to know how to make good Orbit shots (with active tracking difficult), dolly shot and different angle, as it is not possible to adjust the angle. A wide-angle lens is included in the combo package, but how do you do medium and close?
Maybe to can make a video and show how to do that. Thanks in advance.

    • @OttoJulian_

Hi, yeah the orbit shots are a bit more difficult to make, for me, it takes a fee shots to make it happen. Try to measure the distance from the center to make a path so you can follow it. I've found this to be a helpful way for orbiting

Another great one Otto! You know I don't even have a Pocket 2 but I watch all your videos to learn some slick editing tips. And... I just noticed the little lightening bolts when you clicked the buttons. Man, that was slick! I'll bet a lot of people don't notice that, but it's one of those tricks like you say, subliminally people will think "this is a cool video" but may not even know why. Except a lot of your audience is pretty video savvy. So they might notice it. Okay, back to making bugs for me. :-)

So...out of the box mine doesnt do much of anything. It does tell me that I can only use it 5 times before having to link it to a phone. My phone doesnt seem to be compatible.
Well...I guess Im still stuck with the Canon SLR...yup, no autofocus, but at least I can use it as just a camera. If I need to have a new phone, why do I bother with this, when the Iphone is pretty good with diginital stabilization? I can buy a used 11, keep it without a sim, and its closer to just a camera that this device if that is the came.

Hello! You just need the phone for the activation. You won't have to use it anymore after that. I suggest using a friend's smartphone, it takes less than 5 minutes. Other than that, I can honestly say that handheld using the iPhone will never give you good results. I always need a gimble to say the least and people we see on youtube that can handheld those shots are out of this planet 😄
Give it a try man, try to activate it, you won't regret it

@@OttoJulian_ Its still frustrating that it has to be activated this way. I already had an issue with buying it, not having a basic SD inside it (Ive never bought a camera that did not have one). So I wait a few more days and now, Im stuck at this phase. For me, the biggest function I want out of it, is to simplify production. I do a one person youtube show, and I am disabled. Moving gear, long editing time are things I try to minimize so its less about making my shots look more professional (ie, not having to refocus for closups every single time, etc). Sure, it would be nice to also improve quality but...Im concerned that being linked to a phone, and not even my phone may cause issues in the future. The direction of technology already seems to be one of less personal control, so I dont want to find out in a year that I need to buy this or that or a subscription.

@@OttoJulian_ Didnt expect a reply since your channel is big, so replying to all comments is a big task. Im actually in the middle of trying to set it up. Called a friend over, and the phone is treating the Pocket like a battery bank and draining it. Im not a techy person....but I do find ways around things. You may laugh but I have been debating using a Panasonic shoulder mounted VHS tape recorder (its very high end for its time with lots of the features I need) and just transfer to digital since it doesnt want any internet or phone lol
