From memory, this was a great game. Mcmanaman and later Rednapp were amazing. Clarence Seedorf played in very position on the pitch. Even Jodi Cruyff looked good. Will watch these highlights later.
Redknapp broke his ankle at the end of the previous game. He only played 2nd half vs Scotland the whole tournament but he made an impact when he came on in that game.
One of the two great performances that England have produced since 1966. The other was the 5-1 in 2001 in Munich. Not much reward for all those years of toil. Let's see what England can do in 2024. I wonder who else is watching this before the game.
The England had great football teams in the 80s, 90s and after, just was a little unlucky, first an unfair referee decision in the game against Argentina team, when the referee defended Maradona's " God's hand goal scored in the England goal, other times lose game in the penalty series, after the main and extra halves...
I met Stuart Pearce at Euro 1996. He became one of my idols and if I had to make an all-time team or squad, that player would be in my starting eleven.
I was at uni in England and watched this one at home while a couple of girls from our house went to the pub. When they came home they said that as soon as the final whistle blew, the people in the pub went ballistic and smashed the place up. My housemates had to hide under a table because pint glasses were flying everywhere. Then a few days later, England got booted out on penalties in the semifinal at the hands of Germany (because of course)...and then they smashed up the pub all over again. Crazy days!
C mon England !!!! Euro 96 fantastic memories. I'm watching whit my father 👨. We all support England vs Germany in semi final. Gareth Southgate so close England never forget . Last English semi final since World Cup in Russia 2018. And Final Euro 2020 first for England in Euro history EVER. And FIRST ENGLISH FINAL SINCE WORLD CUP IN ENGLAND 1966 MY GOD LONG TIME. Greetings from Leicester UK 🇬🇧. Legia Warszawa Forever.
I watched this match live, in the Boerderij, Zoetermeer, Netherlands. Earlier that day, a docter prescribed codeine pills for a painfull ear infection I had. I took two codeine pills beforehand and ignored the yellow warning sticker 'no alcohol' on the pillbox. The only thing I remember from after that, is thatI accedentally cheered for Englands last goal! But since I was the only one in the crowd who jumped up, I immediately recognised my mistake. Quickly changing my Yeaah... into an ..ooooohnooooh! saved me from making a complete fool of myself! Phew!
Jesus!!! With Kluivert on the bench who would have thought that their conversion of chances would absolutely suck?! What the hell is wrong with some managers?

That Holland goal knocked out Scotland on goal difference by the way 😀
😂😂😂
I wish we had a Paul Ince or Stuart Pearce in our team now. Proper warriors on the pitch.

Shearer was celebrating the penalty goal before Van de Sar had even hit the ground from his dive :D

3-0 Alan Shearer (56 min)
4-0 Teddy Sheringham (62 min)
4-1 Patrick Kluivert (78 min)

Same old Shearer, always scoring.

Apart from germany in my eyes the best performance I've seen in my lifetime.our sas Sheringham and shearer destroyed them
You would have thought this great England team would have won something, but there always seemed to be one or two teams that were just a bit better.
Did, Tournoi de France 1997
The video quality is very bad.
VAR would have called 2 Rc, 5 yc, 2pk
Not a single episode shows Southgate playing as a defender.....
X Who ku pi te fan be ban?
Une dès pire équipe d'Angleterre dans un Euro
