I think it was on DR. Bobs SCP site but in one story a clever operative kept a picture of 096 Shy Guy on her and the reason for it actually happened. The picture is in a thick durable envelope and she was captured and tortured by some criminals and when they were searching her she made sure to close her eyes when they found the envelope. That was her trump card. She KNEW they would search her and find it. She closed her eyes tightly but they did not understand the danger. They thought it was a physiological response to the pain of the torture she had endured. She kept her eyes closed tight until the attack was way over and she knew the shy guy was gone and was free from her now dead captors. That pic would be a great way to kill people. Imagine a war where you trick the enemy army into seeing the picture.

Honestly, they could have simply led with using The Shy Guy. There is little chance that The Yule Man would be able to stop The Shy Guy, so there really was no need for anyone else to engage Yule Man and risk him trying to escape. Kind of seemed like an unnecessary loss of life. When The Yule Man was in the house, they could have set things up where every screen in the house showed a picture of The Shy Guy's face.
The Shy Guy was supposed to be, and was, their finishing move. They had a plan to lure 4666 in, they didn't know if the shy guy would be required, so they saved him until the final moment, plus, the tv screen with the researcher AND ONE VICTIM THAT GOT AWAY would've kept him nearby to see if he can kill the one that escaped. Make sense?
Yeah. But Foundation procedures follow the escalation rules. You start off low, then work your way up. Standard procedure, besides. If the Foundation had stumbled with evacuating the family who I assume they got out of the house before blowing it up. The Shy Guy would've gone after them next. The whole point of this was to avoid getting anymore families killed.
It wasn't about simply neutralizing him, it was about revenge. The doctor needed to confront him face to face and make sure the yule man's final thoughts were about who did this to him.
This was just too satisfying. Ever since I heard of the Yule man a few years back I have wanted something to kill and the fact that 096 was the one to show him he ain't that big and bad was like pure dopamine. Best Christmas gift

So, never heard of Dr. Geise, but he's officially my favorite SCP researcher, AND GAD DAMN I AM HERE FOR GOOD GUY SHY GUY. I could not hate the Yule Man more. Like, top 10 most hated fictional characters. And watching him be terrified, brutalized, and murdered... *Chef's kiss*

My only complaint about this is that I would have preferred that the narrator went into detail with what the Shy Guy did to the Yule Man. I wanted to hear and see the Yule Man being torn apart and mangled, screaming in terror as it was to be sent on a one way ticket straight to Hell. Other than that, Dr. Geist gave the world an amazing Christmas present. Merry Christmas to everyone at the SCP Foundation, and a very Merry Christmas to SCP-096 for being the one to truly give SCP-4666 what it personally deserved.
I havnt read his file recently so I don't know if it was updated but ifs never actually officially stated what 096 does. Yule Man probably got vored alive though
This is why I wanna see Yule Man meet the Old Man and get stuck with him in his pocket dimension. Given a well deserved taste of torture. Maybe even have some of Dr. Scranton find its way to the surface when he realizes he's torturing a monster they've never been able to catch when he was still working with the Foundation
@@enderknight1442 The Old Man tortures anyone and anything he can get his hands on. He might take a page or two out of Yule Man's book before completely burning it in acid, which would be mercy by his standards.
It might not exist in the fictional universe of SCP but HELL is too good for him. In my opinion this monster is even worse than a pedophile. You know what might be even scarier though? Recently there was a video about "reverse day" at SCP,, with the main focus on reverse shy guy where if he sees any person's face they will hunt him down to kill him. SCP 999 the "tickle monster" on REVERSE DAY might rival Yule man. It would be pure evil.
I definitely think vengeance being the core theme wasn’t something that was worth it I doubt the Yule man is indestructible but scp 096 should have been something strategic to get rid of the Yule man and not revenge of course I am definitely gonna say seeing the Yule man get put in his place is the best Christmas present it certainly isn’t something that scp citizens should experience.
That guy... Everything just to get revenge.... But in the end he gotten it even if it killed him. He knew that they could damage but not kill him... So as a final act of vengence he had a stronger SCP to unleash, all he had to do was have his enemy see it's face.

I wonder, does seeing 096's bottom jaw count as seeing his face? If not, they should make him a proper helmet, with a detachable jaw. Something he's less likely to destroy when his jaw stretches. instead of, like, a freaking sack
Seeing a few pixels (without even realizing it!) was enough for 096 to attack. I HEAVILY doubt that his jaw is seen separate. You just have to see part of his face and eyes don't count as an entire face (unless you look at the eyepods or sth xD).
Recently I saw a movie called VIOLENT NIGHT and it COMBINED GENRES. It was part Christmas fantasy with Santa and a cute little girl who loved Santa and it had magic and reindeer but it was also part heist crime thriller similar to DIE HARD and it was part dark satirical comedy. A movie maker needs to meld genres again and do an R rated Christmas horror story where similar to Violent night Santa is the hero defending the world from a monster similar to this SCP or Krampus. Christmas and horror have been combined before quite a few times I admit but I mean a story where its part Christmas fantasy because Santa and his elves would be heroes defending the world from the terrifying monster but it would not be a kids movie like grinch, it would be rated R and have a terrifying monster that brutally kills people.

It wasn't so much about 096 as it was about the Yule Man getting a serious dose of his own medicine. Geiss really wanted him to feel it, to take him down personally. 096 doesn't waste time; it'd be over far too soon, before the Yule man realized anything but seeing a photo. Not all stories need epic, extended blowouts to be amazing. PS, I'm a big Shy Guy fan myself, but more in pity to the poor thing rather than just wanting a bunch of "Shy Guy vs. (insert random thingy here)." A being like the Shy Guy didn't just poof into existence the way he is; there's one hell of a story there....or one of several that I've read or watched by now. Kind of makes you just want to slap a bag on his head and give him some hugs. Why they just don't have a D-class that is fairly kind, and blind, bunk with 096 as a companion is beyond me. It's worth a try, if you can find someone with a deep sense of empathy
@@ZeoViolet Eh, if it was a serious dose of his own medicine, wouldn't 106 be a better candidate for that considering how much they both love torture and mutilation? Let's see how Yule Man likes being on the receiving end of cold blooded torture.

I always wondered if you could save the kidnapped kids by giving an agent a picture of 096 in case of a Yule Man sighting and then showing him the monster. When the Yule man would teleport away, 096 could be outfitted with a tracker and run to his location with an SCP SWAT team chasing him and evacuating the children before 096 arrives and finishes the job. So SCP Explained, could you please mak a video about it?
Though this is a good idea there’s a few issue I have with it. The scp foundation don’t know exactly where the Yule man lives while the shy guy would and so there’s no way for the them to rescue the kids before the shy guy gets there. 096 also always uses whatever rout it takes to reach his victims. Meaning that the shy guy may have to run near or though a small town or large city to get to the Yule mans location fastest, possible leading thousands to see the shy guys face. And god forbid that people record him and put it on the internet or a news station spotting the shy guy and live streaming him. Also once the shy guy reaches the Yule man it’s likely that the kids would have already caught a glimpse of his face and experiencing the same fate.
for my opinion I think I would consider 4666 an even worse krampus But luckily geise got his revenge and died satisfied of what was about to happen Geez! What a story!
Thumbnail: SCP-096 tied to a chair with the Yule Man about to kill him Video: The Yule Man dies in a brutal battle with SCP-096 that was started by one of the Yule Man's surviving victims
I was 9 during Christmas of 1981 and I recently turned 50. I am almost exactly the same age as the boy in this video. Weird to think of a middle aged 50 year old man still trying to overcome the trauma of his childhood. My own childhood was full of trauma and very sad and I am 50 myself and still trying to overcome it, still in therapy. Granted I never suffered a trauma as horrible as this by a longshot. All of my traumas COMBINED are just a minor inconvenience compared to what happened to this poor kid. Damn.
The Foundation could have created capsules containing photos of SCP 096 inside, then distribute them to children at high risk of being attacked by the Yule Man. Give the capsules a memetic property that when the Yule Man attacks, the child will have a compulsion to open the capsule, seeing the photograph of SCP 096 and sending the 096 to their location, potentially ending him or even finding his den to destroy it
LOVED the level of insanity and courage and everything that legend put into actually killing that monster. it was just that he could have saved himself, by showing him the photo a *bit* before, so that he could have time to watch his reward.
There hasn't been an even more satisfying SCP neutralization. The shy guy is such a terror but he can easily be such a valuable tool.
Also cause in some iterations, if true, hint that 096 doesn’t want to kill, like with 343 or 999

Now i'm not sure if could technically teleport or not, so in theory if yule man would go back to his hideout (Which is near the core of the earth) he might be able to hold him off even though SCP-096 will still find a way eventually.

Not really. He gets really upset when someone sees his face, so it wasn't a good experience for him
SCP-4666: Status: Neutralized.
I love it when a plan works out!
Make sense?
My thoughts exactly like there is no way the Yule Man could defeat 096 injured or not.
But a 096 recontainment was risky iguees? So maybe thats the reason they used it as a last minute

SCP 999 the "tickle monster" on REVERSE DAY might rival Yule man. It would be pure evil.

096 would always arrive before the containment team but that would be a way to give the Yule man eternal hell on earth
Also once the shy guy reaches the Yule man it’s likely that the kids would have already caught a glimpse of his face and experiencing the same fate.
but that would be dangerous for other humans. what if the trapped kid sees his face or any innocent person who comes in his way?
They should make a full on movie with some of these SCPs.
