Hey every one! The last stream chat was some of the most fun I've had in a while, thanks to every one that showed up! If you want to watch my streams in the future, give a follow to my twitch! www.twitch.tv/jarek4gamingdragon
So, if you play shitty FPS games for everyone's amusement, I recommend you, no, actually challenge you to play shit sandwich that is "Scorpion: Disfigured". It's so bad
Chris Chen I wanted to like Jericho so much. I tried to convince myself it's a good game on so many occasions. It just isn't, though, since the gameplay is so lackluster. I personally couldn't get over the fact that my teammates died so easily and enemies had so much health points - it really slowed the game down and made it unnecessarily hard
Review Idea: "Frontline: Fuel of War", randomly remembered it last night and thought it the perfect bygone, overlooked, interesting premise, subpar execution FPS from the late 2000's.
You can make a super hero out of Jarek the FOV Dragon, he goes around helping people that have issues with their settings and puts down the entitled shits who think FOV doesn't matter or think their settings should be the only settings.
Frankly? Never heard about that game, and I'm dealing (playing, finding and reading) about obscure stuff (some of them can be recommended for you). This however - never heard of it. Doom3 - Area51? More obscure than Duck Nukem 4 Feathers?
You probably played a RIP version of the game. This means that there are missing files such as music, voices and cinematics. This was done a lot in the past so that the game weighed less and people with a bad connection could download it faster. (this is google translate, sorry for the bad english)
Hello Jarek, I've recently discovered your channel and I find your content entertaining and interesting. I particularly like your analysis videos on mediocre first person shooters. By any chance have you ever heard of a 2007 fps game called "Hour of Victory" published by Midway Games, apparently it has terrible reviews but I'd like to know what you think of it. P.S. Keep up the good work! :)
@Agent 005 Wow I didn't know that! It's worse than I thought. Coincidentally I was in a Gamestop yesterday and I saw a used copy of this game (for the Xbox 360) for the first time in my life, I can't remember the exact price but it cost more than it should've.
In goldeneye, you have the reload animation was like this, but it's ok because it was one of the first n64 games. Here, it's just unforgetable, unlike BioShock you have reload animation.
I know this game! And here is my Story: It was in 2008 or so, where i got some wisdom tooth removed. It was planned and i was prepared. So i went to a mediamarkt to buy some games and dvds to enjoy while recovering from the surgery. I bought red ocean for a bargain. I tried to install it later. But it had the starforce anti piracy protection. It was not possible to install it. Even on a brand new windows installation. A few days later i brought it back to the store and got my money back, very sad not having enjoyed this game. Another few years later, i stumbled accross a cd image on some torrent or other plattform. Due to the fact that the original purchase of the game failed, i had no remorse downloading it from the internet. And what a miracle, it worked. I played it maybe half through, but got bored and spend the rest of my free time with women, cars, beer and other nice stuff.
Great vid as always. Just as a side note, Arkane studios actually wanted to name their game Neuroshock, but Bethesda forced the Prey IP into the project to get more attention from media and gamers alike. Not even the devs themselves consider Prey 2017 to be in any way related to the original.
I find it quite sad that people just ignore the Prey 2017 because it's not the ridiculously over-scoped prey 2 everyone was promised or a continuation of the original Prey. Prey 2017 is probably one of the best immersive Sims around with some crazy levels of depth to the gameplay and environment, but according to most people none of that matters, kuzz it shares no similarities to the original.
LMAO It just makes me smile so much whenever he starts talking about Field of view, I can just imagine the small little angry mobs on their keyboards going crazy about it! Jarek, thank you so much for not degrading your style because of such useless feedback that those kind of people gave you. Also- the script you made for this video has to be one of my favorites, great video! [Also! Please talk about Medal of Honor Airborne soon, I feel like you are gonna love that one]
You like funny + wonky death physics? The Boomstick & Doomstick in Killing floor 2 kill enemies so hard with headshots they get launched back at mach 10 and phase into walls
Another good review, I am starting to enjoy this as much as I enjoy your streams. Have you consider in playing The Stalin Subway? Something tells me people have been requesting you.
Liking your channel more and more. I would like your opinion on the game deep black. I have played and platinumed it on the ps3 years ago. Your opinion would be awesome in a video. I think it's available on pc and Xbox 360. Give it a try if you want.
I know you play PC games, but all of this obscure game stuff reminded me of some PS1 games I own. Incredible Crisis, Frenzy and Rescue Shot, to be specific.
I did play and finish that one years ago, living in Germany made it easier to get a hold of a copy. Nor particularly memorable with a tiny arsenal, with most guns being ultimately useless, but the obscurity factor was second to none. There is something appealing about those games and I really want to at least play them all once....and boy, are there still many to look into :D Also you most likely stumbled into a ripped version or maybe it doesn't function on modern OS as properly.
MyAbaondware often has two version of games that are from CDs one without any Music/Voices/FMV and one with. This is a holdover from when downloading CD based games took a ton of time on dialup and could get expensive. Make sure if you download from them that you get the .ISO or Full Rip. Some games don't have a full rip just because it was ripped blank and never had a full rip done of it. Since you mentioned mounting a BIN file most likely this game was stripped, patched, then encoded to a CUE/BIN rather than ripped directly from the CD.
Maybe the version you downloaded was a Rip? You know, those versions that get tons of stuff removed by the scene groups in order to cut down the filesize for a faster download. That's the only reason I can think of as to why there are no cutscenes in your version.
Think this game is obscure because neither its developer nor publisher are on Wikipedia? Try "Psychotoxic", a similar shooter that doesn't even *have* a Wikipedia page anymore. Jarek, if you need a bad game to entertain fans, you know what to play next. :-p
Hey Jarek, maybe you would cover Will Rock a Fps similar to serious sam? Also there is obscure Fps named Prism Guard Shield it's pretty generic military/modern shooter where you are playing as cop and as story progreses he's becoming a commando.
Jared play Darkwatch! It’s an old ps2/ Xbox titles that is basically a western vampire hunter game. I remember it being quite a unique game when compared to other shooters like cod3 I played at the time which seemed very generic.
I'm a new viewer so I don't know if you did this already... New World Order if you can find it... I have alot of games i have played on PC a long time ago that I know people don't know about, or barely
It's funny you mention wanting an actual Prey 2. The original Prey 2 that was supposed to come out had its story and mechanics detailed about 2 or so years ago since it was already long cancelled. That was almost nothing like the original. Just look at it's trailer that came out probably over a decade ago. Nothing similar. Still would have been good to have some relation though (as it would have connected to the original) since the new one is only Prey in name and Wrench.
I'm guessing the reason there's no cutscenes in the version from the abandonware website is tied to the fact that it was never sold digitally. They're clearly prerendered so they probably played off a disk kind of like Quake 2.
I've found that view bobbing is the main thing that makes me nauseous in video games. It's my biggest problem with Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, as for some reason there is no option to turn it off.
Mind trying out the "Breed" game ? Its a german sci-fi fps, for the time it was published it had a few nice ideas although it also had its downsides, overall most of people i know really dislike it although for me it was a nice shooter.
Dude, i still have the physical game to this day. I bought it years and years ago but i never actually played it cause i was never able to make it run, believe it or not. Btw, love your channel mate. Keep up the great work.
I found that I care more about FOV after I moved to larger monitors. I don't think I cared about the FOV on older games with old or smaller monitors or even playing on a laptop screen, but with a larger monitor (still not a HUGE monitor) with 1920x1080 resolution I find that things with low FOVs just feel "too close" to the camera, it's almost claustrophobic. I think it's not unlike the resolution on a monitor (and a game, for that matter) where a low resolution on a large monitor just feels like everything looks too large and off, but as soon as you change it to a large resolution you just have more space and things start to look "right". I think after all your comments about FOV you should do a video on that, I'll be the first to admit I didn't really care about FOV until recently and I can understand why a lot of people might not care about it and dismiss it. Especially for people who are just used to play things on either "potato" computers or just adapt to the default settings of any game.
The problem I have with fov and you never seem to mention this but with low fovs it feels like the camera is on a selfie stick the character is holding. I hate it because it's like I'm in a mech person.
This series is great. Someday, torrents of these pieces of shit will stop working and all of those direct downloads will be missing parts, so it's nice to see them preserved in this manner.
Windows 10 automatically mounts .iso files in virtual disc drives just by double clicking on them also wincdemu is much better than power iso for mounting but unlike power iso it doesn't allow you to add files to the iso
Hope this isn't already mentioned (I tried to check previous comments) but abandonware version actually has intro and end videos with English dialogue and credits. To see them in-game you have to go to game folder's "Movies" sub folder and rename "Intro DE.xpv" to "Intro EN.xpv" and "Extro DE.xpv" to "Extro EN.xpv". Also, the English dialogue audio files are in "VoicesDE.xpf" and English subtitles are in "Misc.xpf". You can rename these to zip files and see their contents. How to enable these in-game I have no idea :)
Calling Nintendo out like that is just something that makes me respect you I don't tend to sub for review channels and that sort of thing but you earned it F*** Nintendo
I can't remember off the top of my head if you only do first person shooters or not. If you don't consider playing Front Mission: Evolved. I bought it thinking it was going to play like a MechWarrior game. It wasn't at all close to that. It's a bit like playing a clunkier version of Vanquish. It's a bit frustrating, but under a thick blanket of crap there's sometimes a fun experience to be had with it. I just really don't like how certain missions make you change your equipment. That's probably the worst thing about it for me besides the story.
Ah, dtp Entertainment. They are certainly a budget german publisher. I saw some of their catalog in the Nintendo Channel on the Wii (when the online services were working) and they were practically budget titles. They even had a fireplace simulator in their catalog (at least on the EU Wii Shop Channel).
I have a very odd story regarding this game. I played a pirated copy YEARS ago and I despite remembering breaking a lot of boxes and picking up tons of ammo I don't remember much else. I actually remember the background movie more then I did the game. It was some Canadian/british show featuring Jamaican actors and culture as they went about their day-to-day lives. It was honestly more captivating then what I was playing.
Still looks better than Painkiller: Resurrection, one of the worst FPS games I have met in a long time like any Painkiller game not made by either People Can Fly or The Farm 51. ps. Can't wait for Ubersoldier II review. :)

The game “Clive Barker’s Jericho” would be perfect to look at on this channel, in my opinion.
