This film was amazing. As a daughter with a broken relationship with her father, I saw a lot of myself in Katy. This film makes you think about your childhood, any possible trauma with your dad, and your current/future relationship with him and other men. It’s very eye opening and I will be watching it again! A truly lovely film.

This is lovely. My dad died when I was 9. He's always away because he was military. he died just after 9mos from retiring. I went to medical school and interned in the same hospital where he died. 1st day at the ICU where I last saw my dad, I felt like fainting, I wanted to throw up. But no choice, I was the only one on duty and the patient inside is a dad too. I realized love is expressed in different ways. I grew up fatherless but his military service provided for us. I love you Daddy. I met some other military brats who lost their dad younger than I was and sometimes in action. My heart goes to them. It's very hard.

This is a beautiful film. There are so many relatable elements in it. It is not surprising that a young lady who grew up with loss would have trouble forming a close relationship with a man. What struck me most was how Katy helped the orphaned girl. I was an elemenary schoolteacher for 20 years. I didn’t get one-on-one time with my students, but there were times when I would look into a student’s eyes, and know that I was the only dependable adult in his/her life.
I would like to thank everyone who helped to make “Fathers and Daughters.” It is a gem. Oh, and if you haven’t seen it, it’s a 10-hanky movie.

It hit him hard, from being in the military to working with Clean Harbors & helping with the Katrina Clean up; it took everything from him.

This movie should have won at least one Oscar, and being worldwide known. And I HATE MOVIE DRAMAS, I really do. But something made me watch this movie, and I dont regret at all.
The actors, Russell Crowe, Kylie Rogers and Amanda Seyfried MY GOD, you just can't find any best character to fit on.
Sorry if my english is not good, I'm from Argentina. And thank you for this movie.
