You do not understand modern manufacturing. Today vehicles are better in every way , plus they are less expensive when you figure in inflation. Heavy doors decrease fuel mileage. Like thick filaments last very long in light bulbs but, cost more to run .
One reason is there owned by dodge and dodge has never been quality and number two is why would thy build quality when the Amazon baboons just destroy them ?
My identical van has done 150,000km’s in the Australian outback over the last three years with a spare tyre and 25 liters of fuel fitted to the rear door with no problems. The build quality is first rate.
I don't know, the once great Mercedes reduced to building a throw away product, just like a sheep following the others, but don't mind charging you a premium for the badge, thankful that i no longer require a van, RIP Mercedes

I have a new Toyota Hi Ace van and it is not the quality of body work and paint they once were. 1 year in , rust in the roof join, rust above the rear tail gate and the thinnest paint job I have ever seen. Was hoping to get a lifetime of use from it , I’m not convinced I will. 😢
