I think the band are great! Love them, have for 20yrs. I almost got into a fight with a guy at ozzfest 04,because the kid in front of me booed & made fun me dancing to the music. He was into thrash. I snapped after 40 min. All could think to say to him was you don't know where you come from. I was talking about musically. Great show!
The first concert I ever attended was in Pennsylvania for the Defenders of the Faith tour & I hate to say this - because I know he's earned his retirement - but I already miss KK.
Love Priest, especially 70's stuff, but once Glen is done The band needs to retire and Rob needs to reform Halford. Priest to me is not Priest without both K.K. and Tipton
@@zach7948 Correct, but also it contains menthol, which relaxes the throat muscles, allowing easier movement for the vocal folds. Rob chews airwaves, as did Pavarotti
I like the way they slowed it down more like the original Peter Green version.... This song has much more depth and power when its sung this way... Its also Darker... And they are singing about some dark shit right here..
thanks, but i can't understand the metaphor ..what exactly is a manalishi?the fact that green is also the name of the author is that relevant or is it just the color of the dollar bill ? and especially because it has two pronged crowns ? I am very confused ...
Pretty sure that was due to Glenn's Parkinson. You can see they picked up the tempo on the new Firepower tour despite Ian and Rob almost being 70 (and Scott isn't getting young either). They started playing slower and slower even since 2004 to be honest. That was about that time Glenn started having trouble playing the faster solos (like Painkiller) and around the time his disease started to show up.
ElChicoProductions See 'em on their next tour next yr, you won't believe how Rob can still hit the high notes on Painkiller! It'll make your teeth buzz!
As much as i like faulkners playing , he never got the feel right on this one. Just overplays in the verses and it's just not quite right.Possibly why they dropped it on the firepower tour?
Ask most rock fans about the Green Manalishi and I bet you the majority wouldn't know it was a Peter Green song. It was relatively unknown before Priest ramped it up. May not be your taste but at least it's still getting airplay because of Priest.
Love the sound of this band..
This is got to be my favorite version of this song. Just badass!

what a prick, i love thrash, but love priests style too! saw megadeth support priest, sadly not on the painkiller/RIP tour
Halford is looking like Lord Vader at the end of Star Wars Episode 6 on this thumbnail lol
But he still has those pipes belting out well.

Damnnnn 4:28.... Richie's fillings must have jarred loose and melted away along with his gum on that one \m/
They seem tired, and after 7 months on the road at their age it's starting to show.
Tribute. For Peter Green 🙏🙏
Need KK
is there a particular reason for all the gum chewing
My assumption is, it activates the salivary glands and helps to keep his mouth/throat from drying out.

@@StaticYonder that sounds like a neat product. I don't sing but if I talk too much at work I do get hoarse. Might be worth a try.

A DEMON CALLED THE GREEN MANALISHI ... MAKING HIM DO THINGS HE DOESN'T WANNA DO ...
What does Rob say at the beginning?
KK implied the band wasn't giving 110% anymore; and this track is about 10% slower than it should be so there you go...........

I doubt that. They did it so they can fit more gems on the set list.
I love this song. Would love to hear it live.
That KK Downing replacement sure seems like he's hot dogging a bit.....
