    I have one of these and it’s really flexible with the various ways you can use it. I think Two Notes products in general are great. However, although there’s instructions in the user guide online on setting defaults regarding boost and the three channels, only the individual who wrote instructions would be able to follow them. Another point is that some people are colour blind so tube colour will change etc, does not help. You should make a clear video on setting up defaults like boost etc. That would be extremely useful.

    this really seems to be the perfect tube preamp for guitar. I really like how the treble booster tightens up the distortion, which is essential for metal styles.....you don't want a shrieking or nasal sounding tone, but not a muddy one either that turn your chugs into wool. Also the amount of gain seems very generous....a lot of tube preamps seem to be stingy with gain, with the exception of Peavey and their Ultra gain. And the fact that you can control cabs and effect setups in your computer software really make this an innovative product....nowadays is not enough to design guitar preamps with tubes in them, although tubes will always sound and respond better....the sustain is longer, the harmonics jump out of the strings, the intervals melt together in harmony.....a minor third with non tube distortion sounds just like distortion, but with tubes the minor third seems to come alive. There's no reason why you can't use real tube distortion with excellent cab sims. Well done Two Notes, I want a Revolt preamp too.

    @RossDaviesTwoNotes @RossDaviesTwoNotes while I do see your reply, i have a simple question for you guys, and hope the answer is not going to be a yes sure, our unit plays through ALL amps. I have made my decision in choosing this pedal and your brand and next step "buy it". Amongst other pedals through much of my own research and such. I am sold on purchasing this unit through (Deluxe Guitars) here in Australia, but not much is known unless I take my whole rig and all amps down to try it out. I play through several ENGL heads, combo's and my mainstay as an "amp expander", is my trusty Hughes & Kettner TUBE FACTOR, preamp pedal which is permanently on my board. Even though I have to tweak it by plumbing an eq pedal into it, I wish it had full midi capabilities so I can use CC patches to change different tonal channels like how the REVOLT does. I use a Strymon Riverside gainstacked before the H&K, which is not a bad pedal at all and serves me well, but side by side with the H&K, you can hear the massive difference in the actual tube drive and distortion versus "digital/analog" type drives.! Sorry for long explanation, but my real question is "Would the REVOLT work well with the clean channels of ENGLs higher gain structure type amps such as the POWERBALL 2s and Ironball series amps and others.. etc.? I can tell it would run perfectly through their models, such as the thunder, screamer, Savage, SE, and Sovreign model range, as they are built more for a rock/hard rock purpose and my TUBE FACTOR sits perfectly on the clean channels on these amps as i own them, but the Powerballs and Ironballs, including other amps like FORTIN, Bogner, DIEZEL are built for that ultra gainy structure. Put a preamp pedal into any of these high-gain amps and it literally turns to sh*t.! Like I said I love my TUBE FACTOR pedal, but I play live and love the BIG SPEAKERS and Amps type of headroom. I have other modellers and IRs in my Fractals, but I love the lotsa gear, lotsa speakers type set-up, and want to upgrade to the REVOLT (for midi channel changing purposes). Thanks for reading and I am sold, but hopefully can get my question answered by you guys. Once again sorry for epic explanation and ask.😑🤘

      Hi Rikk, Thanks for getting in touch and a great question. It should work fine with your amps - in terms of connectivity, if front-loading your Amps with ReVolt we would suggest zero-ing the EQs to avoid any unwanted harsh frequencies from feeding a preamp with a preamp. For optimal use, we would suggest either lining ReVolt via the OUT output into your Amp's FX return or configure ReVolt in 4-Cable Mode to add the three ReVolt Channels to your Amp's channels. Let me know if this helps!

  • @SynthexS

    You didn't touch on this and the manual doe snot mentioned it either, but it's to my understading that the pedal has no stereo input, the send and return is also not stereo. The pedal seems great but why not make it stereo? Specially if I can connect it directly to an interface for recording. I undersdant that a normal setup with an amp would not be stereo but this product should have a more modern approach.

    • @RossDaviesTwoNotes
      @RossDaviesTwoNotes 5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for getting in touch - Ross from Two notes here. Yes, the Pedal is Mono - adding Stereo functionality would have ultimately compromised the 4-cable integration which a lot of users are taking advantage of. Please let me know if there is anything else I can clarify for you today!

    Can you do a more in-depth video with the Revolt in combination with the CAB M+? The manual says to use the CAB into the effects loop of the Revolt, but I have never seen a single video on this being done. And then what should the settings be on the CAB M+? Should the preamp and power amp be off?

    • @RossDaviesTwoNotes
      @RossDaviesTwoNotes 10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for getting in touch - Ross from Two notes here! In terms of optimal audio connections between C.A.B. M+ and ReVolt Guitar, place C.A.B. M+ in the FX loop of ReVolt. For any spacial FX (including Reverb and Delay) please place these after C.A.B. M+. By configuring your connectivity in this manner, you ensure that your special FX affect your total signal without colouration of the FX-processed signal by C.A.B. M+’s Poweramp emulation and Post FX suite. For integration of Drive, Fuzz and Distortion Pedals, we recommend placing these between your instrument and the instrument input of ReVolt. You can also place effects in-between ReVolt’s FX Send and C.A.B. M+’s input, just like you would do in a traditional amplifier rig (a great example being Modulation FX). Finally, once the FX loop on ReVolt has been closed, connect the XLR DI Output of ReVolt to a PA, Mixer of Interface to hear your end-to-end signal complete with the analog preamp emulation of ReVolt and the DSP Powered Cabinet, Poweramp and Post FX emulation of C.A.B. M+. In this situation, please keep C.A.B. M+'s poweramp on and the Preamp emulation off. Let me know if this helps and if there is anything else I can clarify, please dont hesitate to reach out!

      @@benjaminck6768 Thanks for getting in touch. That is a perfect use case scenario. Thanks for getting in touch. The only knobs that are shared between channels are the 3-band EQ on the British Crunch and Modern Lead Channels - we have found that you dont really need to tweak these too much to get a great synergy of tones. Thanks for reaching out! Idle, the pedal draws between 510 and 530mA depending on the channel. This goes up 10-15mA when playing.That is why we decided to go 600mA on the silkscreen. However, power brick outputs are often slightly more capable than what they are advertised for and most multi-output bricks with a 12VDC / 500mA tap will power the ReVolt no problem, as they have a little bit of headroom. Apart from the - me not really convincing clean channel - I did not hear a lot of tones from the Crunch and Lead channel, due to the constant speaking over. The former Twonotes pedals series sounded rather disappointing to me, some fake tube tones, but hardly really professional tube amp or tube preamp pedal alternatives. Next thing is, I do not like typical Fender clean tones as little as Rectifier high gain tones and in reality the amp world is a lot bigger than three 08/15 tones alone.
    Also simulating three different amp channels with a single real tube authentically is almost impossible without any additional op-amps.
    A so called in-depth dive for me sounds different!
    Bad presentation without any representative, audible sound examples!
    If I then also consider, that the Twonotes/WOS power amp simulations do not really sound very convincing, especially not the much too dark and dull sounding KT88 ones, but also not the onther ones, I hardly believe, that a professional setup can be created with this plugin, which seriously can compete with a professional all tube amp.
    Revolt is not even cheap, for this price you get complete single or dual channel tube amps too meanwhile! Or other tube preamp pedals.
