    "there is a tube in there and it might be doing something" explains exactly the reason I want a tube preamp so badly

    Hey, I’ve been a subscriber for some time but never took the time to comment your stuff :)
    Now I’m looking for some kind of all-in-one pedal and I must say that this video and the Darkglass infinity one were super well made and informative !
    Thank you for this quality content, and kudos on the great playing, I wish I could play with a pick like you do 👌

    Damned my (too long) comment from a few days has vanished :/
    I don't remember all I was saying but yeah, I concur on the usability of the third channel, and the integrated "cabsim".
    I recently acquired a CabM and I can finally crank the trebble knob up again with a proper cab simulation, taming those highs.
    Very nice demo tracks, as always! 🤩

      Ah damn, RUclips does that sometimes! At one point I was suddenly swarmed by comments months old that just appeared overnight. Weird. Thanks for reposting though!
      I did swiftly try my go-to cabinet impulses inside my DAW with the ReVolt, the first track actually is the only one not using the built-in cabsim but one of my own IRs and those did make a huge improvement.

    Great review! What a shame the cab sim is so basic 😱 Have you had a chance to try the Ampeg SGT D.I?

    • @Paajanenae
      @Paajanenae  Год назад +2

      I do understand their reasoning behind it, making an analog cab sim is way different than a digital cabsim and there's not a lot you can do with it. After all this pedal is supposed to be paired with the CAB M+ for digital cabinet emulation.
      I haven't been able to check out the Ampeg SGT D.I. though I'm really interested in that. It looks like a great piece of gear!

      @@Paajanenae I love Bi Amping my bass live and currently use a Kemper and a Marshall Plexi profile for the high end signal above 250hz and blend with a clean DI for the lows with a high end roll off but I’m missing something in the mids and I think it’s the clean bass di that is not sounding it’s best. Have you had this problem with yourself Mr Paajanenae? I run into an empress compressor before the split for a more consistent attack

    • @Paajanenae
      @Paajanenae  Год назад +1

      @@JakeBass Yeah I have! That's why these days I steer away from splitting my bass signal 😄 I find that by carefully tuning my distortions I can achieve more solid tones than by splitting the signal. There is no clean DI blend on any of my videos for the last 2 years I'd wager and I've only used multiband tricks on a handful of those, mainly in the form of Neural DSPs Parallax

    How dirty would the clean channel be ? I'm curious how sensitive the gain knob is on it, and if you could create a clean channel with a bit of hair on it?

    • @Paajanenae
      @Paajanenae  Год назад

      It doesn't really get distorted, no hair to be had there. With the gain knob on full it sounds like running a tube pre hot just before it starts to audibly distort. It's a little bit less dynamic at that point and there is something extra in the tone but it's not much.

    • @Paajanenae
      @Paajanenae  Год назад

      You might be able to get some hair out of it if you pushed it with a boost pedal or something like the Bass Soul Food now that I think of it
