Igor from Leonid and Friends brings Danny's playing back to life and leaves you in no doubt what an integral part of the Chicago sound he is. Great, great rock drummer, different from the studio cats but equally important in terms of his contribution to recorded and live music performance.
When I first started playing drums ---The Chicago Transit Authority was by far what I practiced to the most ---The music and drumming is timeless ---still holds up today ---great music great drumming and no doubt was a great inspiration and help as I embarked on my own musical journey God bless you Danny and your great love for music Greg
Danny Seraphine was one of the first models I had as a kid drummer in 1970. There are tremendous rock drummers out there. We can list them all, but I found Seraphine to be one of the most crisp and precise ever. Seraphine knew where he was going with the musical piece at all times. He not only marked the beat for everyone in the band, but he followed the melody in a manner that was just incredible. Danny accurately followed the grace and accented notes of the brass with the accuracy of an atomic clock. I remember listening to "Does Anyone Know What Time It Is?" and "Call On Me" for the first time. Seraphine was truly remarkable. The crispness you heard on the recording is what you heard in concert. I remember attending a Chicago concert for the first time in September of 1974. Seraphine was truly outstanding.
Make Me Smile is one of my all time favorite Chicago songs. It was one of the first I heard on the radio. I think Chicago V has some of his best drumming. Big fan! Big fan! 😎
My husband and I lived on a commune in Bucks County Pennsylvania (late 60s) and Danny came there with a few other members of the band. My husband is a drummer singer and had a band, and he jammed with Danny up in the barn.
Can't say enough about how great he made Chicago's music. There's so many rhythmic phrases he created that are iconic. Every time I listen to them,I just think how perfect they are for the music. This particular fill is brilliant and sounds so good. He develops and completes phrases so well.

he is bad ass
He is like Ringo in that way, more technical but still a feel drummer
There was no Chicago without Danny.
Clearly the engine and unbridled energy of Chicago.
And don’t get me wrong. Tris did a great job and is a helluva nice guy, but it was 2 different styles of music
agreed.....he was vital to their sound
or kath
Goodbye on Chicago V is my favorite Danny performance

Master Drummer ! So artistic
my favorite guy
Master.
Dude has FEEL for days. My Lord... He admits to his influences, yet encourages you to find your own voice. Can't ask for better advice.
Danny is the one and only true Chicago drummer, everyone else since 1990 is nothing but a fill in,
one of my all time favorites, but this is innacurate.
Great drummer, but his name sounds like some kinda neurotransmitter.
