My grandfather was a mechanic and this was the soap he showered with daily. He passed away when I was 7, and I had forgotten all about this soap, and certainly didn't know the name. I picked up a bar a while back and upon taking in the scent immediately recognized this as the soap I used every time I spent the night at my grandparents house. Grandma's Oil of Olay was just too girly for me, so I always grabbed Papaw's Lava lol. I use this soap mainly for it's advertised purpose of hand washing, but will occasionally bring it into the shower whenever I decide it's time to shed my current outer layer of skin and wear a new one just because of it's very good exfoliating properties.
Surprisingly there are other people whom also use this as an exfoliating soap in the shower ...Personally I don't recommend it to folks for use in that style , there are bars such as jack blacks turbo body bar or Fresh''s Coco exfoliating body bar which do a great job, but hey to each their own ..
I work on engines and cars every day so it’s nice to use this at the end of the day in the shower on my arms to remove the stubborn dirt that gets lodged in my skin
I’m a mechanic I know you hate Irish spring and lever 2000 but those are really good for getting all the grease off after a long day! I use dove white on the weekends when I’m off work
@@JudahMartin ahh.. that sounds like a better place to keep it. I have a bar of it in my downstairs bathroom. My Mom bought it for my husband and our son. Our daughter and I don’t use it.. we use Dove and Summer’s Eve 😂. The Lava soap is real good for my husband and our son, because they get dirty a lot more with oil changes and mud..
Lava soap has been around for many years it's the best kept secret 😂 It always seems that grandpas are the ones that always used it and we learned it from it's definitely a lot better than the goop soap a side note if you use it in your hair it will dry the hell out of your hair and head but your hair will be oil-free and frizzy
My grandpa used to have lava bars all the time when I was a kid I remember cause he was always working with his hands around the home mechanic wise and he was also a construction worker so his hands were guaranteed dirty lol
I’ve used Lava soap since the 1950’s, it was a staple that we used even in Vietnam during the war to get that mucky red dirt off when showering…still use it👍
My dad was an auto mechanic; and he (and by extension we kids when we worked at the garage during the summer); Lava is the correct solution. I worked in printing for 30+ years, and Lava is a good solution for those who get ink on their hands. I have some lava soap under the counter, and use it whenever I have to do some genuinely dirty work.
Yes that would be helpful, on this comedians show called toss, he explained that he doesn’t want to show him doing that kind of stuff because he doesn’t want to sexualize the channel lol
thanks for the review there is another heavy duty hand cleaner soap if possible could you review it its called fast orange I got it at tractor supply but I wanted to know if you could review it
didn't know they had soap at the Tractor supply , now that i do i'll pop in and grab that , i've got another hand cleaner from Duke Cannon that i have yet to try as well ..
Thank You bar soap guy you're the best youtuber and I do use that bar soap to wash my body I am a welder but I'm really short so thank you so much I wanted your thoughts on the bar is not really meant for hand washing but it's okay it's actually meant to wash your body thank you so much
+Alexandria Lloyd youtube is linked to my smart phone so I can read just about every comment someone makes in real time . while I have 34 subscribers only a handful of them actually leave comments ... thus I can easily remeber who asked for what particular bar soap review .
@@Wolf-Squatch yeah I’m definitely going to do that but that’s ok with me. It’s too many soaps with moisturizers I wanna feel clean I like to be a lil dried out
curious if you have done a soap run at tj maxx or home goods? i have found some jumbo soaps that are really good for under 7 bucks. and by big i mean 12 oz bars.

You will never feel more clean in your life. It is a life changing experience and you will never be the same. Love your reviews. Love you enough to tell you the truth.
if you want to improve the video sir do an actual demonstration where you have filthy dirty hands and clean your hands with lava and some hot water and a dry towel and that would be much better than standing there talking
It's exactly the opposite of Lava. I really think it's suitable also for face. It's a soap made in Germany similar to Clinique/Vichy/Avene. You should give it a try. I think you will be pleasently surprised.

Nice story
Most definitely. It's WAY better than most exfoliating bars of soap that usually cost several times as much. I love it and also use it daily.
If you don't have sensitive skin, it might be ok to use in the shower, but my skin would not be able to handle it.
I work on engines and cars every day so it’s nice to use this at the end of the day in the shower on my arms to remove the stubborn dirt that gets lodged in my skin
Love the Lava bar! Leaves my hands so clean without the greasieness that other moisturizing, liquid hand soaps do.
Best soap ever. Not just for hands, has many uses for just about anything! The only soap I use while camping !
I’m a mechanic I know you hate Irish spring and lever 2000 but those are really good for getting all the grease off after a long day! I use dove white on the weekends when I’m off work
i don't hate the original lever 2000 , just not a huge fan of it. the basic Irish spring on the other hand ....
Walmart carries it. Yes. In my Walmart they are in the soap/shampoo section. Illinois.
Sometimes, they are in both.
Arkansas too but in the camping section

When I need to do some maintenance on my bike I can tell you that this soap gets the chain grease off while normal hand soaps don't!
My grandpa always had this on the side of the sink in the garage.
My dad used Lava soap so it's forever written as a true man's soap in my brain

This stuff works awesome for my hubbys hard working hands.
Commerical Printer......best soap ever... nothing more needs to be said!!!!!!

I know of this also being at the health section in Menards. I’m pretty sure that this means that it is therefore probably found in most Menards.
Haha I was going to be a smartass and recommend Lava. Seems like someone beat me to it!
and that was me hahaha
My Stater Bros carries this bar. It would be with the body soap bars.
Pretty sure AdvanceAuto carries this in most stores
A pez candy..lol...you are right!!😉
Every man should use this.

Might I suggest you add ACTUAL USAGE video to your Soapy videos. Like run the soap through water and lather up your hands to explain stuff?

Stacy T agree. Good soaps
Can i use this for my fave
can you shave with it?!?!
How does it compare with GritMitts?
Its hand cleaner in a bar soap form.
We used this soap on our hands in art class in school it stripped the crap out of our hands lol 😂
My idea make this detergent yes
