I appreciate and respect your love of soap. It is a luxury to shower every day and it is not something I take for granted. I often think of the things that make me feel whole and peaceful.
I grew up with saturated, soft, blobby irish spring and always hated bar soap. After watching a few of your vids I got a couple and a WIRE soap rack that allows the bar to dry out each time. Now I like trying out the several ones I have, depending on my mood. Cheap amusement :)
Bar soap is awesome! But Irish Spring is not a good one, but there are quality bar soaps at a similar price point; such as Ivory and Coast. Dove is amazing, but is about double the cost, but well worth it. The experience of showering with body wash and bar soap is wholly different to me. If I have nothing but body wash showering seems almost like a chore; a lame inconvenience that I just have to partake in to avoid stinking. But when I have a good bar of soap it is almost a zen type experience, lol.

This video is superb. I am from Cuba, and just like the USSR, there was only one choice, or at times, no soap available to buy (or money... food got priority). I think that many affluent nations, including where you live, have lost the ability to feel the pleasure of a simple experience (like having running water, soap, etc.). We are currently living in uncertain times, and there's always the possibility that the greatest nation in the world might also soon hit an unwanted reset button in which we'd miss things like having a bar of soap. I'm going to stock up inspired by you. In the meantime, thank you for the pleasure of your videos.

Soap bars are my absolute favorite to use because they're economical and multipurpose! I usually go for more natural, organic soap bars that I can use for my hair, face, body and for shaving. I even use them to wash my two dogs! I consider cold-processed, handmade soap from a small business or tiny shop from Etsy to be a form of luxury for my skin because of the high quality ingredients that are in them. I'm a bit of a minimalist at heart, so I don't like using a lot of beauty products. Soap bars have made it easy for me to enjoy simplicity in beauty.

Wow! what a great story! I always find the stories of how people got to love their obsessions interesting! I never would have guessed yours. Thanks for a very informative video!
Im always finding myself coming back to this video for some reason. I love bar soap more than the average person, ive usually preferred it over body washes, I grew up using bar soap, the day I learned to walk one of the first bar soaps I was using was dove, and from that point onward all the way up until adulthood, that was what I used the majority of the time during showers, it was the main thing my parents always bought, and i never had any problem with it. Its incredible seeing how much bar soap is directly and indirectly connected to, theres so much history just with bar soap specifically, and the fact that its generally cheaper, more eco friendly and lasts longer, theres no risk of spilling anything or accidentally using too much as it is with body wash, all the times ive used body washes over the years, ive always found myself coming back to bar soap as my main type of soap, whether it's dove, or a good quality castile soap of some sort, bar soap has always been my go to and its nice to see others including the bar soap guy himself relate to the same thing
I love and understand this... it's totally cool that we can get what we want easily...dont get me wrong I had plenty of soap / products as a kid...but I couldn't get high end stuff, now that I'm a grown up and have my own $ and family I buy cheap/ or high end whatever I like...and it's liberating to be able to enjoy what I like or want...and i go crazy buying my kids and husband things... it's just a hobby of mine...i enjoy it and all the fragrance variety and taking a hot shower or soak in the tub is just relaxing 💕
I love bar soap more because it reduced the moisture needed to produce bacteria odors in your skin. I especially am victim to that and which is why I stopped using liquid soaps. Ever since, I stopped having those problems and remain using bar soaps from now on.
I love the smell of coast and Irish spring but they dry your skin out. For a good smell and moisturizer I like caress, dove,Olay, ivory with aloe, or Irish spring with aloe. Yardley lavender is great too
I love bar soap because it lasts a long time (longer than gel in my opinion), and it’s nice and simple! Gets you clean like it’s supposed to and I like that :)
Please do the review the Olay cooling White strawberry and mint soap! I would love to know what you think about it!!! I would highly suggest the body wash!!! I think it is much better!!
Personally I love soap because of how simple it is. Even when given the chance to use body wash I stick to bar soap, and when I moved out for college I still continued to buy soap. To be honest I like Dove and Dial(I know you hate Dial but, meh) as well as soaps/shampoo bars from Maple Hill Naturals. I'm a woman who's been using nothing but bar soaps on my hair for over two years, so for me when I try out soaps I try them out for not only body, but for hair as well. Surprisingly, Dial works well on my hair. The Maple Hill Naturals works well too, but I'm iffy on Dove given their use of SLS in their bars.

I'll tell you why I love bar soap. One time I got a full shot of body wash directly in the eye by accident. NEVER AGAIN! My eye was messed up for three days. Hard to get a solid chunk of bar soap in the eye. It's not like pieces fly off. Safety first! LOL
