Are you a bar soap guy? Or a body wash guy?
You've been using the same cleanser your whole life. Which is why I wanted to challenge the status quo. Most men have used the same thing for 10 or 20 years…
But what if there's a better option for you?
Gentlemen, it’s time that we settle the debate of bar soap versus body wash.

I respectfully disagree with body wash being more convenient for travel. A bar of soap in an inexpensive travel soap case definitely takes up much less space than a full size bottle of body wash. . . and you don't have to worry about running out if you use travel size body wash. If you are deploying and need to take a few months' worth of soap a multi-pack of bar soap is more compact than the equivalent in body wash. Second, I've never had a bar of soap accidentally come open and leak. On a final note, if you plan to do some sink laundry (socks and skivvies) the right bar of soap can double for both hygiene and laundry.
Pointa taken!
not to mention TSA freakouts over liquids.
I must agree good sir
Zip lock bag and your ready to go
You'll also need q loofah case/container for travelling If you use body wash
Soap all the way. I just don't feel clean after using body wash.
Maksim Makso Yes
Maksim Makso same here I feel like it doesn't remove dirt well
Maksim Makso get a loofa.... hahaha i almost said that without laughing
Gotta love the bar!
Hard to wash off
I use both! I usually make a quick pass over the main areas with the bar soap, then finish the body with the body wash. Nice video!
Awesome way to use both! Thanks for sharing omega17ds!
omega17ds same here!
omega17ds I also use both, I have body wash for, well, my body, and I use a bar of soap to clean my face because I get a ton of oil on my face and it's awesome to just make it disappear.
@@sorenroeser omg, don't do that. Go to a dermatologist or do some research..
Great idea. I was thinking the same thing!
I always found bar soap lathers up much better than body wash. It also seems to leave a cleaner feeling. Some of those body washes feel like a film of soap is still on you after washing it off.
What kind of soap do u use?

Real Men Real Style
Just signed up for the dollar shave club. The products look great I'll make sure to let people know about this.
Do they deliver outside US ?
They deliver to Canada but I haven't had any luck getting the RMRS Offer sadly
Real Men Real Style all the reasonings you said about body wash is why im loving so much with that soap (i also liked how you added the "eww gross" part on the 3rd reasoning lol) Body wash all the way!
@RealMenREalStyle, as a fellow service member in the navy, you probably heard of the uniform change that all naval personnel excluding marine corps, are moving to type III NWU woodland camo. Now the boots are 1000 times more comfortable than the black leather mainly cause I can do all day in them, however I've been struggling to find a good set of boot socks, I've always defaulted to the Dickies black Dri-Tech Crew socks, mainly cause it's what my feet like and are used to and don't flare up like they did in boot with the government issued ones did, and could take a beating on duty and in the wash. However I'm missing just a little bit of support in my feet, any recommendations at all? P.S thanks for the awesome discounts and style tips, bought a couple of products that sponsored your videos i.e Vincero, KK&J ect.
Only me using the bath - Bar soap
College or roommates - Body wash
koolyo2foots makes sense
What if you drop the bodywash
Gary Gaming what? body wash is inside a container and you pour the amount you need.
Prison too... but they don’t lmao
Okay, if you have to share then definitely liquid soap. Maybe you could save using bar soap only on yourself though.
I see people always complaining about paid sponsors. Given that I'm a Buisness student, I can respect your grind, whether it's you, Alpha or Jose. Great video!
Appreciate it - thanks!
I always use bar soap. Reason: I sweat a lot and in the tropics, my pores are always with dirt. So I have to use a loofah to scrub my body and it is best with a bar soap. I use body wash when I am not at home or in a cold area, where I do not sweat a lot. But they are both good. Important is to be clean and smell good all the time :)
I've tried both, and Body washes just gave me horribly itchy skin from all the beads and whatnot they shoved in, I just use Dove Men bar soap, lasts a long time, does the job, and when i'm getting a new bar, I just slap whatever's left on top of the new one in a hack to get save soap
Clever!
Same, I have to use dove moisturizing soap bars in winter.
Tadicuslegion78 Guys Irish spring is where it's at
Isaac Ortiz And the body wash for men's dove is worse
John Jacob. I used to use Irish Spring faithfully, until they changed the formula years ago. (no longer antibacterial)
I use both...
Cool!
I use both but I get better results with the bar soap when it comes to have a really good bath and get rid of odors and oils that the body produce
Good point there!
Same here!!
I use bar soap on days where I have sweated a lot. It overall does a better job of removing oil and dirt. Body wash for days where I want more of a fragrance and I'm not as dirty. Great video Antonio
2:22 "concentrated rectangle of cleaning power"
Lol
I started with body wash because it's been growing so rapidly in popularity, it seemed logical that people prefer it if so many are switching. But it was always kind of awkward and slow to use, and I never felt a huge difference if I decided to skip it aside from some key areas. Then I forgot to pack it on a trip once and had to use the hotel bar soap, which was this local deal with charcoal in it. That was the most refreshing shower of my life and I'd never felt so clean. That was partly due to that soap being unusually awesome, but it totally sold me on the bar for its speed and ease of use.
Bar soap guy myself. ;-)
I use both based on my mood.
Despite its dehydration effects on the skin, I still tend to reach for my trusty cheap bar to lather my body. Tip for all: avoid using a bar of soap on your hair as it strips too much of the essential oils. I've been scolded by my hairdressers everytime I go 😅
I've used both multiple times on different occasions and I personally feel the bar of soap leaves my body overall cleaner. With the body washes I've used they always seemed to leave a sort of film on my skin that was a definite no go.
I'm a bar of soap guy. I like the simplicity. I don't even have to use a sponge or anything. But I use a soap that's actually great at moisturizing, so that removes the negative part he mentioned. This is the main feature they advertise about it (1/4 of it is moisturizing cream). It's Dove Men + Care
Nice!
In case you weren't forced to watch two ads prior to getting to the video, theres a nice minute and a half ad about 30 seconds into the video. Oh, goodie.
dove has the best bars of soap on the market when it comes to leaving skin feeling moisturized
I do both. I use the Dollar Shave Club bar soap solely because it says Wanderer and my last name is Niswander. Also, it smells real nice!
Scott wtf
Bar soap man here ; all day , everyday
all day everyday?! there's only so clean you can get
Guy Lucien lol yes
@@RossPullenI speak no English, but I know soap is caca, I rinse my body with water .
Antonio - I'm compelled to comment and appreciate your videos - I think you do a great job and I learn something new each time I see one. You have great delivery, never superfluous, very accessible and down to earth despite being fashion related and honest (though you advertise, you do so honestly .. and even voted for the humble bar soap;)) - Thanks and all the best
Every time I watch your intro my thumb just hits that like button without even watching the whole video and you got great contents. Thanks
Bar soap, I like feeling dry and clean after a shower for some reason body wash makes me feel oily walking out
💯
I personally like Duke Cannon bar soap. I switched from body wash to this bar soap almost 3 years ago. I feel cleaner, look cleaner, and it works well with my sensitive skin, without irritating it.
I have been wondering this for quite a while now! Great to see you covering it! :D
You're welcome Jester_cmd!
Don't think I didn't catch "more gentler"! Haha love the videos keep it up.
I used to be all body wash until I tried Shea Moisture bar soap. It's an African mix that has a subtle but great scent, it also moisturizers your skin so I don't have to put on lotion if I don't want to. Great product 10/10
If you use bar soap with a lufa, it exfoliates and the bar of soap lasts longer.
I've always debated this myself. Even googled it and read a few articles. Glad to finally see someone talk about it and even better that there's a video now. Thanks.
Glad it helped!
I just switched to an exfoliating body wash and it is amazing. It has a great smell and it leaves my skin extremely soft.
Am I the only one who uses a bar of soap by lathering it on my hands and then applying it to my body (as opposed to applying the bar directly to the skin?). Anyways, I'm mostly a body-wash man for the scent.
I know what you mean.
WoodenFloorsRock you must be the only one
WoodenFloorsRock I do the same thing man. Always wondering why my family that visits can't do the same thing that I do haha
IF I used soap, that's how I do it. I can't imagine rubbing something all over your body and then hoping it stays sanitary afterward. ew
you all are nasty for not using wash rag with the soap
I can't use bar soap as it always feels like its drying my skin out.
And there you go with point 1 for body wash haha.
I completely agree here
You're supposed to apply some kind of body lotion afterwards
you should try dove or oil of olay soaps. they don't dry your skin out like irish spring or other really harsh soaps.
Daley have you tried dove men care
This man is class. wow!!! His videos impress me every time
Hi antonio but may i ask if i can use a bar soap as a facial wash? if yes, would it be better than a facial wash?
Bar soap for me. Like the squeaky clean feeling I get
Bar soap for me. Whenever I use body wash I never feel quite as clean. I guess it's the "moisturizer" in the bodywash. I'd rather just get clean and use lotion to moisturize my skin.
I use both... I could never completely give up my bar soap❤️
Thank you for everything you do Antonio. I watch a lot of your videos. I am subscribed and love your perspective on things.
I use Ivory bar soap for washing everything, including my hair and beard. Contrary to what many will tell you, I find that it is much more gentle than any of the body washes I have used. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated without the additional use of lotions. However, I do still use shea butter to moisturize my beard. I like the way it makes my beard feel, and it's cheaper than the commercial beard oils which are available. But, I am not certain that it is still necessary. For many years, I had very frustrating difficulties with seborrheic dermatitis, and the flaking that goes with it. When I grew a full beard, I had to find a solution to it. After much trial and error, I now use Ivory soap, and I occasionally treat those areas with vinegar. I no longer have those issues with dryness, flaking, or dermatitis, at all. Best of all, Ivory soap and vinegar are both dirt cheap and last forever! I hope this will help someone else.
Love these,or Dove soap, and baking soda
While body wash could be gentler on the skin, it also contains highly allergic components like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and other trashy components. So I prefer Bar Soap+Moisturizer.
There are body wash brands that are milder and doesn't contain allergic components
I use Dove Men+Care 1/4 moisturizer bar soap. Works wonders for me. Doesn't last as long as traditional bar soaps but feels great on the skin and exfoliates as well!
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
i am a poor guy, so i use barsoap ,
ps. i am 18
Anh-Tu Ngoc yes ivory soap is life
Vertigo 101 I use bar soap and it's better than body wash in my opinion
A good bar soap is no different in price from a body wash and doesn't last as long, that's assuming you use like others said (Ivory, Dove, Etc.)
If you use Natural stuff ( not tested on animals, detergent free, etc. ) they will be similar in price and the body wash will leave your skin better and last over a month.
@@PromotingTheBeat mine lasts about 2-4 weeks. Its Harry's stone bar.
Vertigo 101 lmmmmaao
Body Wash. I find they last longer, and I use a shampoo/conditioner/ body wash most of the time. But I will grab a bar if it is on sale or something seasonally scented.
What body wash last longer than a bar of soap???
Ever since I found out I was using bar soap wrong and discovered the right way I've been using them ever since. I love the variety, value and it's great for the environment.
I truly enjoy your videos. they inform me and my dad lol . we like to always present ourselves with highest degree and we could not have done it without you. hands down favorite channel
Thanks!
Soap bar because it gives me the feeling of cleanliness which I can not get from the shower gels.
When I'm at home, I use bar soaps but when I'm traveling, it's always body wash.
I'm a bar of soap guy. I find it easier to find it scent free and that makes it easier to add my favorite fragrance.
I use the Dollar Beard Club body wash, which uses natural and essential oils as its base, and I find it to work amazingly well -- albeit slightly different in its consistency and the way it cleans. "Body wash" style cleaners to me just seem more hygienic as well, so I tend to lean towards them.
Coal tar bar man all the way.
I feel great and smell great.
Plus, I seem to remind the ladies of their grandparents...
The bar of soap wins hands down! I use a shower gel or body wash occasionally but I always go back to the soap bar.
Great rotation!
gotta do something with them xmas gifts lol, even if it stinks. lol
joeloony ya give them away
I was having confusions for which to choose. Thanks for giving me the ideas to choose from.
Will shower gel and/ or shampoo get rid off virus from hands same effective as soap?
I smell quite a bit for a guy, when I sweat, so I love to use a combination of antibacterial soaps and body washes, to make me COME ALIVE AGAIN!!!
A guy named Marlene?
I've used body wash for as long as I can remember but switched to soap bars about a year ago and am hooked, so many great fragrances for men!!! On a positive but also negative side they last for ages compared to body wash and just can't wait to try new one!! The downside....... Dropping a new bar on your toes........ It's a Bastard!!
It can be frustrating whenever you drop it.
Real Men Real Style especially in prison
I use both I put the body wash on a shower sponge can I use bar of soap for my crotch and armpits and if I have some mark that I need to scrub
though you have to add: do not watch this while you're eating! 😅😂
In all honesty I despise liquid soap, it leaves suds and never quite washes off properly
Tell me about
Another useful video! Thanks again!
Hey Frank, thanks for watching!
I keep stubble on the face, so never thought about looking at $1 shave club. Now I will check it out. Thanks!
I use both, I like both 🛁
Hey that's great that you can interchange these!
I normally use body wash on my face, and continue with the bar soap for the rest of my body. Interestingly, I do this pretty much for the exact reasons pointed out in the video. Body wash is more gentle and moisturizing on my face, while the bar of soap gets the job done quickly and efficiently. By using a combination of the two, I find it is also very economical because your not going through body wash like crazy.
Solid point!
your dumb ass puts body wash on your face
After having been a body wash man for most of my life, I switched to bar since I can find natural bars more readily. To help keep it for months and months, I cut maybe a quarter off and keep the rest in the original cardboard box. After using that piece, I keep it in a small plastic bottle to keep it out of my sons' hands.
Awesome video. I mostly use bar soap except when travelling/gym or when I just had a haircut :)
Body wash. I will the brand your showing though. Thank you for a great review.
Great brandon!
Bodywash hands down the best given its extremely convenient
I agree and disagree. Bar soap feels better, more authentic, especially when it’s natural. But I like the smell of body wash and how much easier it is. But bar soap is just better to me
I love this intro. Can anyone tell me the name of that song? Thank you guys
I've always tried to use body wash especially since I've always had eczema and other skin problems. Bars like you said tend to dry my skin out way too fast, I might try a few brands just because, but even then I know I'm safer using body washes.
I use something called "Dawn"(actually it's Aldi brand dish-soap). Works great for my hair and body plus it's a little cheaper than body wash.
DAWN???that's for dishwashing and washing oil spill animals!...LOL
I'm a dirty boy.
TheTarrMan no you're a duck 🦆. From an oil spill
adiksadiatabs No, you're a duck.
I have always used body wash but i want to give a bar a try :)
Rusizzle buy a soap bar like the TR X5 bar you can change the colour of it and it automatically lets you no how clean u are pretty cool things
I actually use both. I used a soap for when I'm just staying home and need to clean fast, but when I go out especially on a date I use the body wash because combined with the scrub it really cleans you and leaves you smelling good.
I use both, that easy. Same scent on both so it just matters on what I'm feeling. Olivina Bourbon Cedar.
I wash with soap then scrub with body wash
"Certain hairs there..." Lol
Why not both? when I travel I carry my liquid soap, it's perfect on the go, and every other day I switch between them.
I am a Ayurveda bar soap guy. But now i might try the shower gel
Vaisakh Sabu does it dry out your skin? I use dove bar soap
if I use body wash it's feels sticky and uncleaned for me. :)
Aomine Daiki

I just ordered Dr squatch. I hope it's good
Ivan c it is
It's terrible, but you probably know that by now.
Most Hated How so? I’ve thought about ordering it but am on the fence.
@@chadworley8389
The soap is actually made with cheap ingredients. You can tell when you actually have it in hand. It isn't milled soap, so it melts down VERY quickly. You'll get a maximum of 4 showers out of a single $7 bar. That's TERRIBLE value.
The lather is nowhere near being a thick as they advertise (Harry's soap is the champ in this department) and it tends to leave a film on you. You'll actually have to "push" the lather off of your body in order to keep the residue from lingering.
Also, some of the fragrances aren't that strong outside of the shower. They only stick with you for a few minutes after toweling off. The "fragrance" of the Cedar Citrus in particular (which is actually the best smelling one) vanishes almost instantly. Probably because there is no real fragrance in it, basically it's an unscented soap with essential orange oil added to it. The rest of them don't smell that great, in fact, some of them smell quite peculiar. Pine Tar, specifically. It smells literally like a chemical floor cleaner, and kind of like a urinal cake. Do you want to rub that on your body?
The Gold Moss smells like a Grandmother's bathroom. And some of the other scents (Area 51 in particular) smell floral and girly, which is odd considering that this product is being aimed at "manly" men.
If you want to try real men's soap that has thick lather, cleans deep, rinses clean, smells great and lasts a long time, I recommend trying Harry's bar soaps (especially the Shiso!), Art of Sport soaps, or Caswell-Massey's luxury bar soaps (Newport, Jockey Club, and No. 6 are recommended). But, don't buy Harry's from Amazon, only buy it at Target where it's $3.99. Amazon is OK for the other two brands.
@@kropking Damn man, I was looking forward to that soap, Lol. Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it. I currently use Every Man Jack & CREMO body washes. Not sure if you tried those brands, but both have body washes & bar soaps and have amazing masculine scents, especially CREMO
I've always been a bar soap guy. I love lever 2000 and dial !
What kind of bar soap do you use?
I am a girl-but bar soap,cause I feel it is more effective 😊
Hahaha...I know u say bar soap...I also a bar soap guy..Because bar soap can deep clean our body & if I use bar soap I can easily scrub my body much more than body wash...Awesome review
How does the shampoo fair on thick wavy hair.
Usually body wash but will try bar of soap. Im partial to imperial leather body wash but their soaps are where they got their fame so will try one.
Imperial leather foam burst is a lot of fun as well, pretty much expanding foam for your body
Bar soap as it is mostly cheaper than body wash!(why to buy an iPhone when oneplus does the job in less price)😎
Ghost rix Oh hey a tech guy. Sup! :)
LMAO I agree.
You must be buying some cheap crap soap then because Bar Soap & Body washes are about the same, sometimes the wash is cheaper if you buy a pack of 3 or 4 and last longer than the soap.
Bar of soap. It is so much easier and efficient and I can use up every bit of it. A tip, you can get a scented bar of soap like irish spring or whatever you prefer, drop it in your sock draw and it scents everything up.
Agreed!
Anyone know if the offer is available in Canada?
I love the channel, and your content is too notch. the only thing I can suggest is putting some acoustic pads around your room to stop some if the echo from your voice :)
Antonio that shirt looks a little tight on your collar area. Maybe you should unbutton one more button. Idk maybe it's the style too, it just seems like it to me.
Bodywash all the way. Was it just me or was there an echo?
Reverse Lee lol only you. Another echo.
Bars of soap dont long last for me tbh. Bodywash all the way fam.
I'm a cold shower guy, what is better for my body when taking a cold shower, bar soup or bodywash/shower gel?
traditional bar soap, u really shouldnt use it for shower, it ll strip away too much sebum/oil from your body and disrupt the ph of your skin. this can cause u to have eczema.
but Dove soap are very good n moisturizing! and are competitive compare to body wash.
interesting video and actually switch between both depending on the time of year, but because I have kids with sensitive skin there will always be a place for a dyed free, scent-free bar in my home.
I know what you mean.
if I lived on my own then maybe I would go with the bar soap but I live with my family and the thought of someone cleaning their ass with bar soap just puts me off. so the clear winner is the body wash for me at this time of my live.
Great video as always Antonio =)
Good point!
Lmao this comment made my day. I need me a good laugh for this bad day. Thanks.
im a body wash guy :3
Same
I've always been using bar soap, more specifically Dove Bar soap. I've been raised with bar soap, so I guess that's why. When I travel, I do buy small bottles of body wash. Because, as you said, it's easier to travel with, and also easier to deal with, if you don't know if there's a place in the shower at the hotel, where you can put the bar soap.
Huh when I use soap I use it with a loofa have I been using it wrong
5 Reasons why men actually use bodywash :
1.
2.
3.
4.
5. My gf made me bought it.
Alexei Cáceres 😂
It smells better, doesn't make your skin ducked up, it's not gross, not for broke people.
