IS base is very old now -and it limits it, not to mention 8speed doesn’t match well to that great v8 engine. Stinger is nice also but drive back to back and decide.
Whats the difference between the accord 10 speed and the type S besides the type S being mated to awd? 7th gear in the accord is overdrive and Significantly cuts acceleration at around 130mph Do you think anything can be done to these trans in the future? Is holding the accords back rn
So 3 big differences, the intervals are stronger (I forget the specifics), the tcm on the type S equates to much faster shifting, and the type S comes which a much needed trans cooler. The type S has the same horrible 7th gear (the gearing is real close In all the 10at and they mess with the final drives. Only way to fix that is get final drive from mdx - S which of memory serves me right is the shortest and/or extended the rev limit to fall into 7th gear at a higher rpm which would need someone to crack the tcm and be able to modify it.

Totally disagree on the blind spot monitor light. That orange in the middle of that black canvas stands out flawlessly. Having the indicator in the mirror results in the indicator getting lost amidst the business of all that action and various colors being relayed in the mirror. Distracting. Honda and Acura is the only company that does blind spot properly in my opinion.
@@BCautosutions Respectfully you should be able to see more than just that tiny space of the mirror especially when driving. Also 10th Gen Accords and current CR-Vs have the indicator in the mirror so it seems it might be an Acura thing.

The only thing I really hate about this car and I heard a lot of negative comments about the same thing is the front logo! Why not just make it like the Integra just the acura logo not the plastic crystal plate, they saying is to protect the sensors?? I don't think this need to be protected like this. Is this is the case this is a unique case because I didn't see no other car like this. I think the Integra front looks more Damm aggressive than the type S and is all because this stupid plastic cover, Because the rest of the car looks awesome.
Questions how much you think this 4000 pound car should be lower because I was planning to eventually drop it at least 2 or 3 inches once I change the rims. Thanks.
The only reason ill never consider buying this model is because its not in manual. L for Honda/Acura, forgot about that small group of drivers that prefer it.

Whats the difference between the accord 10 speed and the type S besides the type S being mated to awd?
7th gear in the accord is overdrive and Significantly cuts acceleration at around 130mph
Do you think anything can be done to these trans in the future? Is holding the accords back rn
So 3 big differences, the intervals are stronger (I forget the specifics), the tcm on the type S equates to much faster shifting, and the type S comes which a much needed trans cooler. The type S has the same horrible 7th gear (the gearing is real close In all the 10at and they mess with the final drives. Only way to fix that is get final drive from mdx - S which of memory serves me right is the shortest and/or extended the rev limit to fall into 7th gear at a higher rpm which would need someone to crack the tcm and be able to modify it.
@Hondamobilemechanic that was a great answer! Do you think the type S will have an aftermarket for a bigger turbo and of the 10speeds will eventually have people that will work on them
@@ByzanEast at this point I don’t see it, not until tuning is customizable. As far as the 10at I’m not sure tbh, I’m sure if we fast fwd 5 - 10 year I think so.
It doesn't sit out in the sun at night so much?
Sits in the sun during the day and garage at night
I’m sorry but why would u have a car like that and mostly always drive it in comfort/normal mode??????
So I’ll sit in traffic in sport plus mode for no reason.

i have to get some maintenance done ..trans and diff...radiator..break..all fluid changes..which one if any, do you recommend i see honda to get done thru them only??otherwise i might go to bigO ..since its cheaper.
i have a crv 2016.
I recommend all of them if they are due. Trans would be the most important then diff, brake fluid, lastly coolant.
@@BCautosutions so i dont need to have it done with honda for any of them..i worry sometimes about their mechanics or that i use a honda product over other namebrand products.
@@tracy2762 I would do it with Honda or buy the fluids at Honda and bring them elsewhere. Don’t put aftermarket fluids in the car
@@BCautosutions thanks although i have already had a couple oil changes not at honda..so other shops will allow for the customer to bring your own fluids? i will check it out.
love these but the markup is insane, I decided to go for the IS500 for the same price
You can get them under sticker at this point unless if it’s the PMC which is ridiculously expensive lol
@@BCautosutions really? I was at a dealership a month ago before I bought my is500. Msrp was 57,400. Then mark up and tax out the door came out to be around 70k. They wouldn’t even let me test drive one. Great car, I always loved the TLs since I used to have a 3rd gen type S
@@herewegoagain7403 I paid 2500 under msrp a month ago. Then they sent me a $417 check saying I paid too much.
@@herewegoagain7403 smh, these places have no shame. No test drives like it’s a Lamborghini or something. Sounds like they show themselves in the foot and lost a customer. How have you liked the is500?
@@MikeYurbasovich now that’s the type of dealer who will get customers to keep coming back 💪🏼

I just bought a use tlx type s 9k miles they persuade me to buy a extended warranty covers 7-8years 100k miles for 2k should i keep this warranty?
It’s always a good idea. If your going to modify then probably not
OCD love it

My 6Kmiles 2022 Type-S lost steering 2 wks ago on highway at night...with all kinds terrifying amber warnings on dash. Dealer spent 3 days warranty work pulled off subframe and front wheels to replace its 'steering rack'. Has anyone experienced similar?
First I hear of this but it can happen. Sorry to hear and thanks for sharing
Wish I could lower mine but it's terrible roads here so nope
I hear ya
How's the ktuner?
Awesome! I made a video about it if you’d like to check it out.
Respectfully disagree. It might not even have it, it’s useless in its current location. I’m looking at mirror glass not the corner of the door.
@@BCautosutions Respectfully you should be able to see more than just that tiny space of the mirror especially when driving. Also 10th Gen Accords and current CR-Vs have the indicator in the mirror so it seems it might be an Acura thing.
@@johnwatson6181 im still looking at the mirror glass not the panel. 🤷🏼♂️
Picking up a new Type S this week with performance wheels and tires. Has anyone purchased the extended warranty for the wheels and tires and is it worth it?
Yes it’s worth it if your keeping oem wheels on unlike me
The only thing I really hate about this car and I heard a lot of negative comments about the same thing is the front logo!
Thanks.
Think it was just styling but I don’t really like it either
2-3 inches would make it impossible to drive safely and on a daily basis
2024 fixed it, now it's just the logo 👍
The only reason ill never consider buying this model is because its not in manual. L for Honda/Acura, forgot about that small group of drivers that prefer it.
I hear that but none of its direct competitors do either so that’s a huge reason imo it’s not offered in 6mt. The market simply isn’t there for the investment.
Rotors warped at 5000 miles wtf 0-0 we’re they defective? That’s concerning
Pretty typically across all Hondas and Acuras.
@@BCautosutions i thought warped rotors is warranty tho? is it not?
