They got me in January. Parking brake, no horn, and oil on bottom side of the engine. MANDATORY COURT APPEARANCE in NJ. I got the parking brake and horn fixed right away and showed the receipt to the judge. He cut me a break on the fines which was nice.
I don't know why anyone wants to be in no jersey, maryland, no york or massachusetts.

You don’t have to help the officer when they stop you for dot checks .. politely asked to exit the vehicle so you don’t interfere with his job/ inspection.. you incriminate yourself by helping and remember your not refusing inspection your refusing to assist in incriminate yourself
Good to know
although, technically true, the officer has no obligation to operate your truck for you. This will likely lead to a failure on all components that were not tested. Officers could be held liable for anything that is broken or breaks during the test, therefore they will not conduct them for you.

Pre-Trip is a must everyday. It's always a what if situations.
Pre trip always done every morning and night when it’s put away. But there’s some things that just happen either mid ride or anything can’t catch it all every single time.

I’m a fleet mechanic in south fla and bra parking brake is a 50/50 deal but most of the time it’s just an adjustment your best bet is to learn how to fix Lil things yourself and save yourself some bank js
MD dot is brutal. I'm from pa and frequently have to bring a trailer into Joppa at our other location and that weigh station on 95 is torturous. Out of service for low air in tire, trailer battery dead and at least 4 or 5 other times put out of service but at least they always allowed us to fix it there which we always did.
We don't have to stop at any scales in Washington. We get our yearly inspection and that's it.

How long do you get it? Is it a monthly contract or something? Also that’s crazy but they won’t let you drive away for a parking break. I can understand. I’m not letting you contract but just a simply drive it home makes no sense.
I'm a Pennsylvania State Police Tow contractor and brother thank God for it. The leeway we get is much appreciated. Now 95 percent of the time my fleet is up to date and my drivers are on point with reporting any issues with their trucks and I have it fixed by the the next day or put them in one of my back up trucks keep a few extra older trucks a rollback light duty, medium duty and heavy duty wrecker and rollback. In the rare occasions PSP does s great thing and tells dot to kick rocks.

I got pulled in one in the 90s … no dot or icc numbers and exhaust had a leak at the seam … the cop wrote the ticket to my boss even though technically it was my responsibility
If your reverse light stays on its usually a bad ground wire or short to ground should be a easy fix.
Didn't know can be pulled in weight stations especially light duty tow trucks I know semis do

Man that's crazy can't stand DOT they just out there to make it harder I mean don't get me wrong some people deserve to get put out of service but in your case he could've given you a fix it ticket and let you go my advice check your truck out very well and stay away from interstates I drive a semi so sometimes I don't have a choice but that's why I try to drive at night much as I can to avoid crap like this but good luck to you it's the nature of the business
