For those wanting to know(I am the car owner lol) its a real simple build. Stock ZC bottom end(ARP rod bolts and head studs) Stock Y8 head/intake manifold, and Slightly larger OEM throttle body off another honda of some sort(Had it laying around and compared all the others with it being much larger). 240cc OEM injectors and fuel pump on Shell 91. Deleted PS and A/C aswell and EX trans with ACT 6 puck sprung clutch. 2.25 mandrel bent cat back with vibrant muffler. Hope this helps others!
@@AutohousePerformanceProject If this was a map I made myself I would be more then willing to help out. If you wanna just get it started/idling a Z6 map should work fine. Ignition timing is really the only goofy thing because the distributor is all the way one way on the head but the ECU only will see 13 degree’s of timing.
I am the father of the owner of this car. Im a retired ASE Master Tech of 30 years. He helped me build a Fox Body when he was 13-14 years old. I help him build and do a JDM swap on his first project which was a 91 CRX Si. He did the majority of the work and only saught my mechanical advice........I cant begin to tell you how proud I am of my SON!!!
That’s dope AF. This is a clean looking car. I love those ZC engines especially the obd1’s. Gsr blades are a nice touch. I wish my four door had a sun roof.
Clean little sedan, very nicely optimized for a daily. Shows that not every car that is tuned has to be a horsepower monster. I also enjoyed the details you provided while tuning. Good stuff, thanks!
Love the video. I especially like when you share tech info and walk us through your thought process and the changes you make. I also like seeing the AFR Gauge and the data. Great opportunity for learning. Thank you!!
I had a buddy with a k-series car like 8 years ago lean burn on part throttle and it ran like 17.0 afr and it was golden for ever got insanely good gas mileage on e85.
Wow, 140 WHP on static compression with a stock block and only bolt-ons? That's typically a cam upgrade territory for a SOHC! Can my Y8 reach similar numbers if I follow your guidelines?
I’m skeptical about a stock head. 140 is a lot for stock head but then again it runs out of cam pretty soon. Maybe huntertuned did some crazy tuning magic lol
Soo I'm starting to get more into this stuff but I'm not familiar with all this tuning stuff but I would like to tune my car and maybe be able to mess around with it on my own. But I'd like to know what would I need to do this? If it helps I have a d16 y7 I'm just rebuilding a bit so I'm just interested in messing around with it I'm planning on swapping later on but for now I wanna keep the d16
I have a D16 zc sohc non vtec I'm looking for the right parts to do a proper rebuild. Any help would be greatly appreciated I'm also very interested in finding a new oil pump
different bottom ends it seem this is kinda confusing, so hope I got my info right zc = a d16zc and d16a1 both come out of a crx of some sort. one high compression (a1) the other one is really high compression (zc), also the zc is dohc non vtec. this build is a total Frankenstein just your avarage y8. now the y8 head, is the best stock sohc in my opinion, better flow and it vtec . Im guessing this guy is rocking 11:1 compression at the minimum
Do you ever talk to people direct and answer specific questions about the build they’re doing as far as what to ask when getting your car tuned. I’m doing a mini me swap. I currently have a JDM D15b in my car and I just had my old D16z6 head resurfaced and all that at a machine shop. Is this a good swap as far as single cam power and reliability?
Hi Hunter, maybe you can help me out. I have a 93 Del Sol with a D16Z6. It has a 3" intake pipe form the throttle body to the stock airbox with a K&N filter. From the airbox it has a silicone elbow with a funnel into the front bumper. It has an exhaust header the same style the car in the video has. It also has a decat pipe. The rest of the exhaust is stock as well as the engine itself. I have street-tuned it on HTS and I am runnig an AFR about 12.5 - 13.0 at full throttle. I don´t have an opportunity to go to a dyno. Do you have a suggestion on ignition-timing? I know that every engine is a bit different and the best would be to go to a dyno and find out by trying. But maybe you could give me a region on what the timing should be.
@@tayvonrose2528 Yes I heard that too. For now I tried to imitate the timing maps form the stock ECU. I´ve logged the unchipped ECU via the DLC connector to know what the stock timing is. The car is running just fine. Since all the engine internals are stock I think I´ll keep it that way

Any track time?
@@BlackHmong85 Its just a daily built from spare parts so I haven’t really made any effort to do any track times.
Hey Rowdy, I have nearly the exact same setup im tuning right now! Would you be willing to share the tune map? No worries if not.

hi, nice build, do u still have the car? and has a daily car the mpg do u noticed any change?

The blades look good on the sedan. Nice lil single cam car. Simple and clean

man if only i had the honda j just got two years ago i need you man
with cam, ported mani, tb, e85 and cop conversion id say it will see 160whp
That thing needs a turbo. 👌
it would be a monster
Clean single jingle right there! 👌
I appreciate all the Honda content 🙏
Hell yeah! Ugh I need to finish my sedan so you can work your magic on it!
That filter was trashed. Good video.
Single Jingle will be having some fun out there
Every now and then I like to drive my car on the back road

Good power for just bolt ons and a tune!

me too, its a beautifull and clean car overall, congrats to the owner !
Can you do a video on an 07- 11 civic single cam
Not very many videos on RUclips with the r18 engine
I have a 96 d16Y8 what is the D16 -ZC- Y8? Different top end? Would love to know, doing a coupe N/A just like this until baby boost time!
Same here man, I wonder if it has a mild cam in it
different bottom ends it seem
this is kinda confusing, so hope I got my info right

Hi what is the optimus degree for d series distributiva? 12 or 16 degree? Thanks
I really like those headlights and wonder if there’s a less tinted version of those
They make a "gunmetal" version that's not as bold as the black housing lamps
@@popslops2188 what model/manufacturer are they?
They are $60 ebay headlights with Ceramic coating I put on them to keep them from peeling lmao.
where are you at in wisconsin? Im in minnesota in the cities.
