Excellent reaction, Oksi. The flexibility and vocal breadth with which Angelina, at only 11 years, approaches this demo is absolutely fascinating. Recording her was occasional and brought with it a flood of commentary and controversy, however, it remains an amazing performance and it's great to still be able to hear her. Personally I love the scratched and somber version of Angelina's demo, much more than the final version of Brandon Lowry's song. 🤗 ❤️

This was a demo song that was never officially released. It was leaked by someone who was involved in the recording. This song will be number one on the charts if it is ever released. I have no doubt. Angelina was just few days shy of her 11th birthday when this was recorded. I’ve listened to it many times but I’m still can’t wrap my head around it. (PS) Hi Oksi, here's the complete info on the song. Always love your honest Angie reactions. “I'm Still Holding out for You” This was recorded when Angie was 10 almost 11 (it was used as a demo. Her mom didn't like a line in it, so it was never released as a single) This song is by Brandon Lowry better known as Sterling Fox & aka Baby Fuzz & co-writers Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen. Baby fuzz did this during a music workshop back in 2016 in Norway. Angie did the demo for it back in Nov 2016 & it was leaked 2 years later. He won't change the lyrics to the song or let others do so. He released it as an original in around 2018 a month after this was leaked. When so many listen to this & Baby Fuzz's version, they still all think this should be her's for it sound much better & convey's the story better. I hope this helps on the song info & background. So many wish Angie would do this song again or one like it. Her timbre & fry, in fact her voice & style in how she tells the story are just out of this world.

Think her family did not want the song released on reflection because the lyrics towards the end of the song refer to suicide. Good that it was leaked because ive listened to this loads of times and for her age still cant believe how great her voice is.

lil Fuzz wrote it with other Norway writers. AJ sung it and her mother protested the suicidal lyrics. Fuzz did his own version a couple years later. It was nowhere near hers. Fizz did not know about her cover, but he heard some young girl killed it..
Many consider it the most unique song she has ever done. I have to agree. Whenever she gets in the mood to stay 'on point', with regard to the original artist performing, she becomes a 'vocal chameleon'. Listen to the original by Baby Fuzz and you'll see what I mean.

The beat of the music sounds incredible (it could you been better with 30% higher volume). Angelina was really young when she decided to never sing it. Please do react to Love on the Brain rendition by Angelina. It is just off the charts, raw and edgy like no other. This song, I’m Still Holding out for You, is a real showcase for her singing jazz in spite of the confusion over the release of this demo of someone else’s original song.

She has been touched by suicide among friends Avicii and Ari Behn, and it clearly affected her. Anyone's death clearly touches her deeply, as evidenced by her performances of "You Were Always on my Mind" and her original song "Million Miles" (tributes to recently-deceased grandfathers). I'm pretty sure she doesn't want people hearing her sing lyrics like "And even if I drown, I gotta hold it down..."
