New lease on life: Daughter donates kidney to Chattanooga father as organ waitlists grow

Thousands of people in Tennessee are on the waitlist for a kidney donation, and for many, the pandemic only lengthened the delay. Tennessee Donor Services, a group that facilitates organ and tissue donations, estimates nationally, about 20 people die each day waiting for an organ transplant. We learned how one daughter did everything in her power to make sure her father wouldn’t be part of that statistic.
