This is a big help. For years I was using a regular recording mic into a mixer board and into the audio mic jack on my laptop and I could never hear myself through anything. I would just record and only hear it when playing back. I switched to a samus GoPro usb mic last year and was messing around with the setting like this and I got it to work but my computer was so out of date that I just finally upgraded to a high speed gaming computer and of course I forgot all the settings I had previously done so I’ve been frustrated. I’m gonna give this a try tonight and see if it will work with the effects on it.

@@RecordingStudio9 well, I like that you did it live. I hadn't thought to split the signal so that the viewer could hear what you hear. So yours is already better than mine in this respect.

Hi, I followed your instructions but mine still doesn't work. When I reach the advanced setting and tap make sure I've selected the mic, there is an "in" and an "out" but beside the "in" there's a red X. I'm wondering if that is normal and if not how do I fix it. It says the status of the "in" is unavailable. Please help

Hello Studio 9. I just subscribed to your channel. You explain things very well.
I am sick and frustrated with RUclips and their copyright crap! It as if no music is allowed on RUclips vids unless I pay to some entity that mostly has music that I don't like or want. Even if I walk by some place that has some music playing in the background that can barely be heard, RUclips gets me for copyright. SICK OF IT! For me, the only options is to make my own. Adding my vocals, other vocals (to include multiple vocals) sounds great! Drums, reggae, synthesizer sounds, are all things I want to do. What do you suggest?

Also, where I live is under sanctions and neighbor countries don't let mail come through, so if I can get to Germany in a few months, I can get Magix. What is your advice?
There are so many free video background music libraries that are royalty and copyright free you can use. Just do a google search to find them.

Uh btw... Can anyone tell me why it is recording overlay? Like on one line twice audio but also time difference. I trued so much stuff but nithing worked. And also when I wanna listen to it I can't, only when I put it in the Video maker program of magix.

This is due to your USB audio interface. Try to turn off the 'listen/monotor' option off in the recording options dialog/window.
I have not used Magix Music Maker since the Windows 98 version did stop working on Windows XP 🤣🤣🤣

Where are your headphones connected? Need to be on the USB microphone's headphone output, if any.

Once you finish recording, you need to switch from your USB Mic driver to the Speaker's audio interface driver, in the Audio Setup. There is o other practical alternative.

@@RecordingStudio9 so you can't record vocal on mic and then playback and hear thru speakers UNLESS you switch back and forth , i have Audition and it plays back fine no switching, i just bought music maker and really hope that wasn't a MISTAKE... your thoughts are greatly appreciated ...also mine doesn't have asio it only has nagix latency ??? very GOOD video well done !

The reverb doesn't work for me when I click it the rest is working though. ANy suggestions? Blessings.
The built in reverb and delay are not the best. Better to use 3rd party VST plugins. But if stuck, try to select a preset first, then adjust the premiters.
Hello @RecordingStudio9.com. At 6:38, in the Advanced Settings, we see a red "X" over the In: 2x8-96kHz 24bits field of the SWAMP mic. I'm using 2021 Premium and can't seem to replicate this red X. Is it critical in order for this process to work? It seems I can only record sound through my USB mic when I deselect "Out," and I can only playback when reselect "Out" and deselect "In". I have a USB mic w/ headphone output and believe my settings match the ones in the video. Thank you for your video and your time.

You may have the loop enabled. Turn off the looping.

First of all, thank you sincerely for the information. However, I'm thinking I may I have applied your information incorrectly, because now that I have switched to ASIO4all, I am now hearing static after I've been using Music Maker for a few minutes. And if I continue long enough, I can barely hear my project. Any suggestions?
Depending on your USB Mic, you may need to install device ASIO drivers first. Only if not available, then make sure you have the correct buffer settings in ASIO4ALL.
Now is there a way or being able to hear my play back in my headphones PLUS what's on my computer. Like doing gaming cometary so the mic doesnt pic up me and my laptop.

This could be depending on your audio interface or USB mic

Sure, as soon as I get some time and some creative idea to play around with.
I'm making a tune,
Where I want to guitar loops on track number 1 and vocals record on track number 2.
But when the audio is being recorded on track number 2, the guitar loops of track number 1 and the voice of track number 2 are being recorded simultaneously on track number 2.
This is not what I want. I want when audio is recorded on a track, the sound of another track will not be recorded on that track. .
Only the sound (Voice/MIDI) of the track where the audio is recorded will be recorded.
Your issue has to do with your USB mic setup, not Music Maker.
How do I make a cover.. I imported a mp3 and how do I sing over it?
Quick answer: Add a new track, set and arm for recording and start.

Can't find pitch & tempo on magix 2020 premium
You can change the tempo on the Transport toolbar at the bottom. For Pitch, make sure you have enabled the feature, as they are not enabled by default.

Magic Music Maker, even the free edition, does not have any limitation. Must be some other setting or issue. Contact MAGIX for support.
I can seem to get my MIC to work on magix samplitude
