Hey Scott! Yeah I love Iceland. What an incredible place. Good eye: that is indeed a 360 camera. It's an insta360. I'm not really a fan of the colour and the fidelity of the image you get from the camera (thinking a GoPro 360 would have been the smarter choice) but it's a fun, handy gadget to have.
Thank you so much Gareth! That's great to hear! I'm sure it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it's super reassuring that you dig it. I really do want to do more stuff that's a bit outdoors or travel orientated (but maintains done kind of thread to music and guitars! Somehow!) Also hopefully I'll have most of my gear with me again soon (plus some upgrades!) So if I do any more of these, they will hopefully look a lot more hi-fidelity than this one.
Welcome to Oslo! Funny thing is that I recently watched your video on the SubZero Rogue VI, and was convinced enough to buy my own. I'm an ex-pat New Yorker who has been living in Oslo since 2002. I'm also a baritone player (play a modified Fender Jag as well as a few others). I'm also a regular visitor to Iceland, so when I saw this video of yours I simply couldn't resist giving you a shout! Small world. Nice work! Cheers, Mark
Thank you very much, Mark! I really appreciate this message. Yeah crazy to think someone in my newly adoptive city has watched a video I made in my lounge in London! What took you to Oslo? Must be s nice change of pace from New York!
@@rathoquarter Hey Matt! Yeah, well the short version is that I have a Norwegian mother and hence Norwegian family in Oslo. I married a Norwegian a few days before the towers fell, so we moved across the big pond. Now I've got a Norwegian ex-wife, a flat in Grünerløkka, a music studio, a small art venue and a cabin in the woods, so no complaints two decades beyond my life in the Big Apple. Just started following you on IG. Maybe when things open up a bit more once again we could grab a coffee and compare war stories?;) Oslo ain't London or NYC, but it's quite good once you get to know the place!
@@StaggerHome yeah mate! Well up for that! I see from your RUclips that you do some gigging too! I'll have to come check that out soon. Followed you back. Definitely up for a meet-up in Oslo sometime soon.
Thanks brotherman! You'll have to come visit us in Viking country when we are set up! The density of your beard will be welcomed with a parade I imagine
@@rathoquarter Bro I'd love to pay you a visit - hope you're both well and settling in nicely! Also, can't wait to hear some new Oslo inspired riffage ;)
Great job on your vlog. Keep up the good work. I also make travel vlog style videos and it would mean the world to me if you could check it out. Respect your way and happy new year!!
@@rathoquarter ah fok bru… I’ve been in the UK for 12 years… I found you from the Sub Zero Baritone vids… we should do some tunes together…. Remotely via Zoom like all the grown ups do 😁

Random question and please correct me... are you South African?
I am! But I’ve been living in London for about 15 years and now am based in Oslo.
