Will YOU be enjoying the midnight sun with us on our Summer Solstice Yacht Party June 21st? 👀☀
Will be hiking in Landmannalaugar that day and staying in the South that night. Not sure if there would be any special event there. Will try to stay up past midnight to experience the summer solstice.
Hi, cant find that event on your website. I will be in Iceland on June 21st, and very interested to join that event.
I have been to Iceland for the first time in November 2023. I did find Reykjavik pretty much overrated. I stayed in Selfoss and liked how it is in the middle of South of Iceland and how everything touristy is reachable within 60-90min drive.
In my bucket list for sure. Thanks for the info.
THANK YOU SO MUCH🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊

That sounds awesome Thomas. I hope you have a great time here! 🇮🇸🥳
Hi from Brisbane Australia. What a beautiful place, I would love to visit Iceland one day.👍
Excellent advice. 2024
Iceland is incredible, was there almost ten years ago but it's still one of my favourite places because of now diverse the experiences can be. Volcano, ice, waterfall, geyser.. Plus the puffins are super cute. I didn't get to enjoy food because I was young and broke back then, so hopefully I can join your food tour next time!
How fun to hear that! We sure would love to have you on a foodie adventure when you come back :)
This is so insightful. I am currently planning a 30th birthday trip for me next year and this just gets me so excitedddddd, I wanna be 30 already. 😂 I hope to see you there in July next year! But until then, I will be daydreaming, and planning my Autumn 2024 holiday first 🤣
This has just encouraged me to go to Iceland sooner than later ❤
Thank you so much for the kind words! We hope to see you here soon!
@@WakeUpReykjavik. coming soon 😍

Hey!
Wow, thank you so much for the kind words!
I'm sure you'll love it!
Let me know if you have any questions ❤️
A very excellent and useful video. I appreciate it.
Also, this fall, you should make another video about winter options, such as New Years fireworks, and where a tourist can go try out a Thorrablot feast in February.
Thank you so much Bruce for the nice comment and great suggestions! I really appreciate it and I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. The video suggestions have been added to the to-do list! They’ll all be made soon - I just need to figure out a faster way to edit these videos. 😅
That sounds interesting
Was in Akureyri last summer when it hit 22 and was the first time I broke a sweat in Iceland while not hiking, lol.
Heeey!
Ohh nice! Wow, it's been a while since I saw 22 here in Iceland. Uncommon but definitely awesome when it happens haha!
Woa hermoso ❤
You are very good at what you are doing! You make travelling to Iceland easier for those who do not have much time to do the planning.👍
Wow, thank you so much for the kind feedback ☺️
Yes!!!!🩵🧊
ICE LAND ❤❤
Wow, this video on traveling to Iceland is simply amazing! I've always dreamed of visiting this beautiful country, and now I feel like I have all the expert tips and tricks to make the most out of my trip.
I love how the host is so cheerful and motivating, making me feel like anything is possible when it comes to exploring Iceland. From the stunning landscapes to the friendly locals, I can't wait to experience it all for myself.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. You've truly inspired me to book my trip and make unforgettable memories in Iceland!
Thank you Noki! ❤
I'd just like to say... all of the info he provided is so accurate. Plz see my comment. 😊
WOW!! ❤ Thank you for your fabulous, expert local knowledge. I have wanted to visit Iceland for as long as I can remember. Now married, my husband and I are planning a trip to your country, even thinking of immigrating to Iceland. We currently live in New Zealand, in the South Island surrounded by mountains, and lakes. Iceland seems to offer everything we love about life, so we are so looking forward to visiting!
Thank YOU for watching and writing such a sweet comment 🥰❤️

Hi Dan, your videos are so awesome... very informative, detailed, witty, & light-hearted! Prior to my trip I watched many, but yours answered all my questions from transportation expectations to tours. Because of this, I ended up purchasing all 4 tours with WUR. I will continue to recommend WUR to anyone thinking about visiting Iceland!! Thank you again for such an AWESOME, WONDERFUL experience!!
Wow, thank you so much Denise! I’m so glad that my videos have been useful to you and that you enjoyed your stay! Your comment made my day ❤️❤️🇮🇸
Warmest regards,
Dan :)
I'm looking at doing the exact same! I'll be there a week so thinking I can fit in most of your tours! Going to E-mail you guys to see what would be best. Thank you for such an amazing video! @@WakeUpReykjavik.

I literally change our small itinerary for our 2nd day in Iceland and booked this Food tour!! haha So exciting! See ya'll in July!
Haha that's amazing!! We can't wait to see you! 🥳
You asked. Dan, for topics to deal with in future videos. My suggestion/request is Icelandic music. As well as internationally known artists such as Víkingur Ólafsson & Olafur Arnalds, there is hopefully more local musical talent that we can access during a visit.
Ah! Wish i had known earlier. We would be there in June for the summer solstice but not in Reykyavik on 21st itself. What a pity . Awesome video though. Thank you for all the useful information.
Oh no! We would have loved to have you at our Summer Solstice event. Maybe next year!
I hope you have an awesome time here in Iceland Sylvia! 🇮🇸🥳
Nice
Heading to Iceland in August!
VUHU! Super exciting 🇮🇸
Such a fun time to visit. Our 'culture night' in Iceland this year will be on August 19th! 👀
Also a possibility to catch the northern lights if you're here during the later part of August ❤️
Will be there in August,,would that be possible to join for a day of excursion?
i just arrived back from a school trip to iceland, we arrived at 8:00am and on the first day, walked around reykjavík, and did most of the day 4 option 1 activities, including the secret lagoon! we also took a ferry to a southern island on the second day, i think it was called eldfell, and that was beautiful too! i would highly recommend it! 😊obviously my trip was pre planned by school but this is a very clear guide and would have been ideal if i was looking for myself!
School trip to Iceland, wow... nice school...
@@Boba89czv loool most schools in my area go to iceland, and trust me it’s not upper class
Eek, only 6 weeks & 6 days to go. Cannot wait 😊
VUHU!! 🇮🇸
Glad to hear that you're excited. I have no doubt you'll love it! ❤️
I'll be there 5 weeks from today.
Only 3 weeks to go! 🥳
Headed to Iceland in July!
VUHU!! I just know you’ll love it!
How long will you be staying and what do you plan on doing here in Iceland? 🇮🇸🇮🇸
One week, and no plans yet…
Your video was insightful! I want to know if I can see puffins in 1st week of September?
Hi. Helpful video. Do u have one for travelers in September?
We are planning on a quick trip to Iceland soon and I have been looking forward to it and somewhat dreading it. I am mobility challenged and I have difficulty walking long distances or up and down hills or stairs. Do you have any tour recommendations for someone who wants to see a lot of things but cannot depend on their legs for very long?
Lets gooo 😮🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
LET'S GO! 🥳🥳
Thank you so much for your great video. Will we be able to see the northern lights in mid august in Reyjkavik? Thanks.
Thank you so much for your vlog! My wife and I are planning on coming in mid October. What is the temperature/weather like at that time. What would the chances be in seeing the Northern Lights at that time.
What an amazing video. Thanks so much for the info! Does the summer promo code work for the Summer Solstice party as well? Would love to join!
Heeeey Janey!
Dan here :)
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video ❤️
The promo code summer works on all tours but not our yacht party event (unfortunately), but I can promise that it will be amazing!
I hope to see you there! 🇮🇸🥳
Do you have vegan options?
Which restaurants do you recommend for vegans?
Great video! We will be doing your food tour in June. Would love to do the Summer Solstice Yacht Party but it doesn't line up with our itinerary but I'll remember to plan for it next year. You showed the Secret Lagoon and Sky Lagoon. I'm curious which lagoon is at the 14:20 mark, the one where you're enjoying a beer. Thanks.
Heeey!
Dan here 🥳
Awesome to hear that you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the nice words!
We'd love to have you on our Yacht Party next year!
Great question. The lagoon at the 14:20 mark is called Hvammsvík Hot Spring. It opened up just a couple of months ago and is located approx. 40 minutes driving from Reykjavik. Would definitely recommend. Very nice and kosy!
Great video.
Question: when it happens, do you see the northern lights from anywhere in Iceland, or is there parts of Iceland that provides better view than others?
I will really appreciate if you can advise me on tours - I’m be there 4-5 days in January
Great video, thank you for all the information. We will be there mid June and have booked a South Coast tour, do you know if there are puffins on this tour?
The South Coast visits The Black Sand Beach, sometimes we have puffins hanging out there so you might get lucky! 🐦
Great and very helpful video! Do Reykjavik and/or Kopavogur have many coffee shops or bakeries that open before the 11:00-11:30 opening hours you mentioned being typical for most shops and restaurants? Thank you!
Heeey Karen!
That's a great question!
For the longest time, I was convinced that absolutely everything was closed until 11:30 (shops / restaurants).
But there are a few spots that open earlier, here centrally in Reykjavik.
Breakfast / Café's that open at 8:00am: Cafe Loki and Hressó (both great)
Good coffee spots that open at 8:00am: Kaffibrennslan (that I mentioned in the video) & Reykjavik Roasters.
So those will all work for coffee / breakfast, while most other restaurants (or shops) won't open until later!
I hope that helps! ❤️
5:55 it looks like that most stores close early. Are there any souvenir shops open late?
Hi Dan, I’ll be arriving Reykjavik from the USA to embark a cruise ship in mid August. Is there any half day activity I can join before boarding the ship at 4pm? I’m thinking of the blue lagoon if it’s possible 😅, thank you!
Hi Dan Awesome intro to the Iceland Summer tour. I am most interested in coming to Iceland the 'worst' tourist season. Can you recommend one, please?! January/February can you pickup the challenge? The channel is Great! Many greetings.
Heeey!
Dan here :)
Thank you for the nice words! Glad you liked it!
I'd love to help out, To be sure I understand you correctly; were you asking for tours to do during January/February or a video about visiting during that time? Let me know and I'll answer you right away 🥳
@@WakeUpReykjavik. Hi Dan, yes, the video about what to do Jan/Feb and how to prepare like locals do. It would be great! Thank you.
Waoo
Can you make a tour plan for 8 days plz
Hello! On your website tours such as Golden Circle Adventure and South Coast Adventure tour have TripAdvisor rating but I don't find these tours and ratings/reviews on the actual TA site. Only for the food tour.
We are coming to Iceland in mid-June and really looking forward to it! We will have our almost 1 yr old. Are minors generally allowed in restaurants and breweries? We would love to do the food walk, rooftop lounge and some breweries. He will be in a baby carrier or stroller.
And any other tips on travelling with a baby are greatly appreciated! A puffin visit is definitely on the list :)
Heeey Allison!
Dan here 🥳
Awesome! In regards to restaurants = definitely minor friendly.
My little guy just turned 2 years old. We've never had any issue and most restaurants will have minor seats available.
In regards to breweries, I don't think you'll run into any problems there either. There are a lot of great pubs and craft bar spots here in central Reykjavik but not too many breweries. Most of them are located outside the central area. There is one however called 'Bryggjan Brugghus' which is in the central downtown area that brew fantastic beer.
I hope this helps!
We went for a week with our grandchild and daughter. We travelled from Stockholm Sweden so its a 2 h 30 min flight. Everything is very Scandinavian well organized. For you veggies as me and my husband there are good options. Iceland is also very welcoming for us gay people and that is also a Scandinavian standard. Blue Lagoon is a very special experience, i could stay there for days. Expensive not that much. One strange thing that we all saw was the lack of curtains in the windows. If you are in to arts and all sorts of culture there are a lot of things to do. The benefits of the city is that you can walk and there are good communications by bus, sadly there bus app wasnt that smooth working. So my take overall Yes go there
Great video. I'm coming next Thursday but arrive at midnight from Prague.I'll only have Friday and Saturday as full days and a morning on Sunday. What do you recommend? Is it possible to see a volcano? Golden circle?
I'm visiting at Easter weekend. Not hiring a car what are your top tips? Where is open? Does public transport operate?
Which waterfall is shown at 0:25 ? Love your content!
What hotel should we book? We are looking for an upscale lovely boutique hotel that is moderately priced but luxurious.
Planning on coming the first week of April. Does the Summer discount code work in the spring?
Is the cruise port for large ships near central Reykjavik? Thank you.
super helpful! I am travelling solo from June 24th onwards and planning to do a full ring road trip. Any tips? Should I stay at the camper sites or get air bnbs?
Hey there! How fun to hear! I think a great way to explore the ring road is also to check out the local swimming pools and what each little town has to offer. Depending on the lodging question, I think that one is more of a personal preference really than any other :)
We are planning to go in oct 2nd week.. Can we have travel tips n guide for this season
Hey Tanima!
Awesome to hear that you'll be visiting in October. It's a great time to experience Iceland 🇮🇸
Great question, our goal is to create a video for each month of the year. It's all on the to do list.
In the meantime:
View made a 'Visiting in October blog guide' which is possible to view here:
wakeupreykjavik.com/iceland-in-october-guide
We've also made a 'Iceland in Winter' youtube view which will hopefully come in handy: ruclips.net/video/jkYLOPQIBpo/видео.html
