This young woman is charming
Planning first trip to Iceland mid to end of March! So excited!!
Hi there, love your channel so much that I booked a ticket to iceland❤. In your videos, you answered all my questions except one (PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, BUSSES) how much do they cost where to get weekly tickets. I don't see anyone on RUclips giving details on how to get around Reykjavik with the bus. PLEASE HEALP🙏 🙏
Thank you, I think Iceland is Beautiful and the sweaters are Gorgeous, hope to visit one day from America!
If I rent a car I feel I can go MUCH further than 5 min from downtown reykjavik. being American, 30, 40, even 1 hr is not considered much if a drive. That being said where even a bit farther from Reykjavik is there REALLY dark skies?
Just back from New Years in Reykjavík. This time we went to Sundhöllin and took the bus to Dalslaug to visit the oldest and newest pools. I also like Vesturbæjarlaug in Reykjavík. For the rest of Iceland I think our top 3 (no particular order!) are Patreksfjörður, Grenivík and Selárdalslaug - all for the views!
One question that crossed my mind. Why doesn't iceland have trees? Its green in summer but no trees is ther an explanation for this
Thank you for the great tips!
The fact about Reykjavík airport is wrong. It's one of four international airports in iceland. Keflavík, Reykjavík, Akureyri and Egilsstaðir airports are all international airports
Alltough Reykjavík airport has very very few international flights (almost just exclusively to Greeland or the Fareo Island unless you ride privately) it's considered to be "the" domestic airport since you can go to other parts of Iceland from that one. So for almost every traveler coming in, they will be landing in Keflavík - we want to state that since this can be confusing when using google maps in planning to get from the airport, it's quite unfortunate when people search up Reykjavík Airport and they think they will be landing there since their ticket even might say Reykjavík - but they land in Keflavík ☺️
@@WakeUpReykjavik. It's used as domestic now yes but it was and still is considered international airport. If it wasn't not even private planes could land there.
Whats the tour to book for northern lights..pls share the link
Hallo i buy tickets for late November ist possible and easy to see northe lights ?
As we say in the video, you can never know that is why we go out and try and hunt them! November is in the season so it's possible of all conditions are right ☺️
Are you under the impression that people in other nations shower with their clothes?
No! That they do not shower or that they shower in their bathing suites - which won't fly here in Iceland ☺️
I don't plan to repeat the experience 🤢
Uber sucks they ran everyone out of business then jacked the rates up. 100$ for a 3 mile ride at peak
Thanks for this review. I visited Iceland in December and did a few geothermal pools, which was great. Now I can add more to my list for future visits. Great presentation too 👍🏼
Glad it was helpful!
You're very beautiful 🫶🏽
What if one is vegan and husband is not vegan? How does that work with food tour?
We can offer vegan substitutes! Just be sure to note it as you book 😋
The rainbow flags are a big no.
Friend and I are on our way 2/6 - right around the corner and cannot wait!
How fun! See you soon 🧡
I'll be there for a week in mid-March! Cheers
Do you do your own tours? This channel is so great for a new to Iceland traveler
Yes! We both have tours that we ourselves operate and some tours that we offer in partnership with other partner companies! 🥳
I’ll be there in May!!! Thank you for this
You are so welcome! 🤗
We are coming the first week of March!
Here : wakeupreykjavik.com/tour/northern-lights 🥳
just say no 😂
Nope.
such a nice lady
One of my favourite videos you guys ever made was when you were trying Þorramatur and literally gagging and puking into your mouths. It was hilarious!! And also put paid to the idea that modern Icelanders relish this food. It's more of a tourist wind-up in my opinion. In fact, if you read up about it, it was pushed as a commercial idea in the 1950s to get old people to reminisce about tastes of their childhood in the countryside.
Such a fun shoot - and we will do it again this January, so stay tuned!
I ate some when I was there last year. Not as bad as I expected.
visit Iceland in January 26 to 31
Actually enjoyed it and bought some to bring home lol
We did... but won't do it again...😂
Hell no
No thanks
Thank you
January
The pleasantries are very similar to Norwegian which I speak fairly well. If I need to swear, I'll simply do it in Norwegian or in English. lol.
Been there, done that. Back in August.
Ok. So my first question and most probably the only important one I have. Is there Vodka?
Yes. Yes there is. p.s. I recommend Reyka 🧊
DONT mention Trump
Thank you! Arriving in May 2025 for 2 weeks... this will be helpful 🙂
as a German I can say: your prices are not that much higher than they are in germany.. a good friend who was there for the first time with me in November was surprised as he expceted it to be far higher
Nothing compares to you
The music is distracting and I cannot hear your pronunciation well because of it. You must realise that a learner needs to focus. Try without music. Also, I think reference to English words that sound similar is a little confusing. I have learnt one complex language, Japanese (living here for 35 years) but want to try another challenge, so I thank you for your efforts.
We are visiting on Feb 12 to 15th and now I am worried about bad weather 😣
Hey there! No need to be! February offers so many magical winter moments! What we want people to understand in the winter time is that the weather can impact your plans here, so be prepared and have plan b's in place in case anything you have gets cancelled! 😄 and if you have any concerns, send us an email for further advise!
